I’ve never reviewed anything on Unilocal but after having dinner here I felt obligated to sign up and give this restaurant 5 stars! The owner of the restaurant was genuinely one of the nicest and most attentive owners I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and dining with. I could immediately tell that he took great pride in his restaurant, the food and the service he provides! Every single thing we had was great! We had 4 in our party with 1 child(who can be pretty picky) and all loved it! From the second we walked in the door until we left was a great experience. Don’t be distracted by this restaurant being off the beaten path or the exterior of the building. It’s genuinely a diamond in the rough and well worth the trip!

I have a really wonderful experience every time I go here. It’s a no frills, very humble looking place but the chef and the staff make it special. They really go out of their way to make sure you are attended to and that you are enjoying your dinner. The chef often comes out and personally checks on customers, everyone is warm and welcoming and the one time there was a mess up on our dinner we were treated to a free dessert(Italian ice cream cake! Omg so good.) The unsung hero of the menu are the mussels! Best mussels in north Texas, fresh tasting, big and perfectly cooked. Plenty of restaurants in Dallas can’t accomplish this and I’ve tried many.

Friendliest family-owned restaurant in town. You really are treated like a guest in a Middle Eastern household when you come here. The food is wonderful and Baba Bagheri won’t let you leave unless your stomach’s full and you have a smile on your face. :)

Excellent service, great food. Not sure what everyone’s talking about on here about the bread though… we definitely were served some sort of toast, not the typical Italian bread you are used to being served at an Italian restaurant.

We got there about 815 one night. It was dead, but then again, it was like a Tuesday night. They still pulled out all of the stops. Good food. Good portions. Check out the art work and the huge painting of Sophia Loren

Not impressed by this place at all. We tried placing a to go order over the weekend and no one answered the phone. Tried calling again today but big surprise… No one answered again. We were close, so we decided to go by and just go inside and eat. There was no one in there except two college students who were eating and no one else. The man greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. We said no and he told us «sorry» and so we left. No where outside did it indicate you had to have a reservation. The man at the counter didn’t even try to explain why he was turning us away. We will not be going back.

This is a bold statement — but I’m going to say this is the absolute BEST Italian restaurant in the greater DFW area(in my experience). I could wax poetic about the picatta, get all mushy about their spaghetti with mushrooms or literally cry tears of joy over the cannoli. The bottom line here is the gentlemen who own this establishment and the joy and love they cook into every single dish that leaves the kitchen. They are masterful chefs and Bagheri’s is their labor of love. Go there, meet them and enjoy every single bite. You are welcome.

Don’t trust hours stated as they decide when they close. We called and made a reservation for 830pm and guy said that was fine. We showed up at 8:23pm and door had close sign. We tried door anyway and walked in and the girl said they were closed. We told her we made a reservation and she had no clue and would have to check with the kitchen guy. We left since it appeared kitchen staff was cleaning up. Another table was seated and waiting.

I’m really impressed by this restaurant, this is definitely the best restaurant I’ve been to in Denton so far and definitely one the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The location isn’t any particular inside a strip mall. They have some interesting paintings inside the restaurant and they have nice tables. Everything is «home made» here and it shows. They give you bread for the meal which is OK but was kind of dry without butter and it didn’t have much flavor. We tried their fried mozzarella cheese which was pretty good, their marinara sauce that comes with it is outstanding. They have a fairly large menu with lot’s of good menu options. I settled for the mushroom lasagna but I had them add sausage as another reviewer had suggested. It’s a REALLY good lasagna! Nice big chunks of mushroom and the sausage has really great flavor. I also tried some of my wife’s chicken dish dama bianca sauce and it was just as good as the lasagna. We ended the meal with cannoli, I’ve lived in Boston in the past but this cannoli was even better than I remember the cannoli’s at the Italian restaurant’s I frequented in Boston. It was really well presented with sliced strawberries as well. The service was really great too. The waitress was very attentive and made sure everything was good and that we had everything we needed. The chef also came out and checked with different tables to make sure everyone was happy. It’s pretty rare to see at the restaurant’s I usually go to. We had leftovers and the waitress took care of the leftovers and even labeled the boxes and dated them. Small details that you don’t see elsewhere but I really appreciate.

This is a perfect date night spot. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside but the ambience is really nice and romantic on the inside. Service was fantastic and the food was flavorful and authentic. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. I had spinach ravioli with their pink sauce(Alfredo and marinara mixed together). It was a wonderful meal.

This place has the richest Italian food I have eaten since I lived in Italy. I ordered the fettuccini carbonara which is ham, olives, and mushroom in Alfredo sauce. I highly recommend it. I don’t even like ham that much, but this… this was great. Believe me. If all ham tasted like this, the word pig or swine would be a compliment. The girlfriend had sausage lasagna. Wouldn’t have been my first choice, but what can you do. I was thinking heartburn city. She’s a high maintenence girl, and she said this place was her new denton restaurant. Take that for what it’s worth. End statement: Anyone can grill an overpriced steak or flame up a burger and slap a high price tag on it, but the quality of food here is something else. Im picky with food. This is better than the pasta i had at some higher end places in Dallas. Get the house salad with house dressing. Get my recommended meal. Get the mussels in the shell(I personally didn’t try it, but saw some other table get it and it was looking good.) Hope your experience was as good as mine.

This is definitely hands down my favorite restaurant in Denton. The restaurant is family owned and they do a fantastic job of making you feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door. They have plenty of parking and getting a table at dinner time isn’t a hassle. The most distinguishing characteristic about Bagheri’s is that the food is delicious and they don’t try to maul your wallet. They start off the meal with a heavier fluffy bread that I usually coat in butter and Parmesan cheese which they keep for you on the table. After which you order your meal and proceed as usual. I ordered the spinach Ravioli pimiento. pimiento peppers are simply added to a spinach ravioli dish. The ravioli is fantastic, it doesn’t crumble as soon as you pick it up, the inside isn’t too dry and outer layer of the ravioli noodle isn’t too thick. The sauce that the ravioli comes in is a creamy tomato base that I usually sop up with a piece of their bread so that I don’t waste a drop. service has always been on point, the chef will come out every now and then and say hello to people and the waitresses(not discriminating, just didn’t see any waiters) are prompt and friendly engaging you in light conversation even if you are new to the place. By far the best restaurant in Denton and I’ll keep going back.

Best Italian place in Denton! They come in huge portions! There is bread after you order. It’s like a family restaurant, pretty packed, but I walked in and did not have to wait long. The food is amazing and the servers are all nice.

My brother had been raving about this place for such a long time that I finally gave in and tried it out. That said, I wish I had listened to him sooner. The food is fresh, large, and tasty. Service from owner to server is top-notch and great as a family business. Try anything with Dama Bianca sauce.incredible. Will definitely return.

Five years in Denton, multiple views of their Unilocal page, and I still had never tried Bagheri’s… Until now. I was missing out in a serious way. The service here is excellent and the food is fantastic. I had the tortellini dama bianca and my bf had the spinach ravioli alfredo. The portion sizes were great and the sauces were to die for. The bread they serve before the meal is almost a meal itself.

Don’t let the strip mall thing fool you, this is THEBEST Italian food you will have in Texas. Small, cozy atmosphere accompanied by a friendly staff that seem to all be of the same family. Classic stern Italian chef coming to your table to make sure everything is as it should be. Very reasonably priced for the food and much better than some more expensive places I’ve been to in Denton, dallas and Austin. Will be going back

This is Denton’s best kept secret for Italian food! Everything is homemade, the Italian sausage is legit & I normally don’t care for it! But let me start from the beginning. It’s in a strip mall. Don’t be scared. Park, walk yourself across the parking lot to Metzler’s & pick up a bottle of vino. Bagheri’s has a bottle opener & glasses but it’s BYOB. Then, saunter in & get a table at Bag’s :) Truly, everything is big enough to share but I’m always so greedy! The dressing on the Caesar has great flavor & you can tell is homemade! Normally, I steer clear of bread but homemade loaves with Texas toast size slices &REAL butter on the table?! Shut the front door!!! I allowed myself a slice, slathered properly with tons of butter. My hubby’s split the Caesar with me, we added cracked black pepper & I foolishly ate it all. The real stars hit the table shortly after. My hubby got fettuccine Alfredo with a side of Italian sausage. I got the mushroom lasagna that came to the table, bubbling so hard from the 500 degree oven. Yes. I burnt my mouth a little, I’m food greedy, remember? It was so good. The sauce is amazeballs & something I cannot duplicate at home. Slices of mushroom, layered between lasagna noodles, heavenly marinara & oodles of Mozzarella on top. I could only eat maybe a quarter of it, after snagging some sausage to go along. I even told my hubby I’d split the fettuccine with him one day & I normally detest Alfredo! The seafood prices are expensive but I swear to you on all I find holy, split that s*** with someone at your table. This is the only restaurant I’ve EVER been to where the mussels did not require a dosing of lemon juice! And I eat a LOT of mussels! And I would eat shrimp Alfredo here only! As an added bonus, on Saturday, Sid will feature a Persian dish. Oh, gawd. I felt like it would be disrespectful to leave it, so much left I could’ve made two more meals out of that one serving, I got a to go box & shared it with a friend. So much love. Go in & try it, I think you’ll enjoy supporting local :)

I would give it 5 stars, but there is NO kids menu. None. Zip. Nada. My daughters noodles with Alfredo was 12.95 and so bland she would not eat it. It was bland. I tasted it. On the upside– my lobster ravioli was excellent! The bread was homemade and wonderful, the staff was friendly and helpful and they took her Alfredo back to the kitchen and added some marinara to it to make it more flavorful and we had them wrap it up to go. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was good. It would have been nice if the place was a little more kid friendly and the menu selection is pretty limited.

The food at Bagheri’s was great. Ironically, I loved the free bread at the beginning of the meal more than anything. I got the tortellini in the dama bianca sauce which I liked a lot as well. I would probably try something different next time though. They have a lot of options, while not being an overcrowded menu. One thing I thought was kind of strange though is that the seafood options are significantly(around 2x) more expensive than the other options. So unless money’s not a factor, I wouldn’t come here for seafood dishes. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and left VERY full. The only downside was that they seemed a little bit understaffed that night, which can really suck for both employees and the customers. At one point the server was shouting at the man cooking to get some chicken parmesan out to her table… I’ve worked in a restaurant and I don’t think you should ever yell at the kitchen staff. He was clearly working as fast as he could. I’d rather wait longer for food than have it rushed out anyway. In spite of this, our server was really kind and attentive so not all of the employees were pissed off that night.
