My wife and I were looking for a sofa and love seat to replace what we currently have. We had been to a few of the chain furniture stores but didn’t see anything that we liked. LaRue was in our area so we thought we’d look at what they had. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a sales associate named Dennis. He was friendly and immediately made us feel comfortable. He had an easy going demeanor and listened to what we had to say. As he came to understand what we wanted, he took us around the store, showing us styles he thought would be of interest and eliminated the others. No pressure, and not trying push styles that were of no interest due to style or budget. We had a few sets that we settled on and we went back to those for a second look and finally settled on a style we liked. Dennis could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable in explaining the construction specifics and had all the information at hand. He also went over the differences in fabrics(since we are ordering the furniture from the factory) to help us choose the right texture and color. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Dennis was a complete professional from the time we walked in the door until we completed the transaction about 2 hours later. He was able to satisfy our style and color need and keep us within our budget and never tried to upsell us. He even called us later in the day to be sure we were happy with our choice before he put the order in to the factory. We were comfortable from start to finish and are looking forward to enjoying our new furniture. Thanks Dennis!

Well I am not the first to post about a condescending and arrogant sales person from this store. DONOT waste your time shopping at this store. The BDI Cascadia white desk 6201 that I inquired about and was quoted at $ 1,399. I asked for his card(Rick M.) as it was my first stop looking for a desk and was told, «I guess you don’t really want it or perhaps you just can’t afford it». Who speaks to customers that way? Well, as it turns out, yes I did want it, can afford it and bought it online at for $ 200 less, free delivery and no tax. I hope the owner of this business reads these reviews. I certainly will be telling all my friends about it!!!

Because of a very bad experience we had at LaRue once before, I promised myself never to go back there. I should have listened. We thought we’d give them another chance. We went there looking for a sofa. We found one on the floor. Then we had the misfortune of meeting Dennis, the salesperson. I Googled the sofa on my phone and found it for 50% less than their sale price. I have found that their«regular price» is greatly inflated and their«sale price»(they are always having a sale) is equally inflated and then there’s the«special price just for you» price(very insulting that they would think I would believe this.) that is also inflated. When I showed Dennis the price on my phone, he exploded. He said he was not a Best Buy, he was sick and tired of people treating the store like a reference library and he would not waste his time with me when he could be selling furniture to other people and making his commission. He also said that if he sees anyone taking a picture of a label, he’ll throw them out. He was rude, arrogant, loud, condescending, insulting and he kept interrupting me. He was very New York! Before he told us to leave(can you believe that!!!), he said that I would never get that sofa, at the price listed on-line and if I did, he’d give me the same sofa for free. I guess I’ll be seeing Dennis again. Don’t make the same mistake I made — stay far away. There are far better furniture stores in South Florida(Adams Interiors in Fort Lauderdale for one) with sales people who are far more knowledgeable and respect that the customer always comes first. If you must go to LaRue, put your phone away or risk the wrath of Dennis!

The staff is very rude and condescending. Went in looking for gold tables for my living room. The associate showing us around showed us black tables that were marked down because they had been damaged and told us we could spray paint them… really? Showed us another piece of furniture to which I told my mother I thought it was too expensive for the quality. The associate responded«You’re wearing Jordans right, how much did those cost». You can guess what he was insinuating. Needless to say we left without buying any furniture. I did not want to contribute anything to his commission. Have heard several people have issues with this same associate.

Terrible customer service. We bought a recliner from them out of their clearance center as is because the foot portion as it was being opened made a clicking sound. That sound was no big deal to us since the chair matched our couches. One year later the leather where you head rests has cracked. Salesman tells us it will do that from the oil in your hair and since it was sold as is they wouldn’t do anything. Now how do you sit in a recliner without putting your head against the chair. We are not here full time so the chair has been used about half a dozen times. Our couch of the same material has gotten much more use and we have experienced the same problem They didn’t offer any advice as to what we could do or maybe knew somewhere to get it repaired just sold as is and that’s it. The furniture material has a two year warranty but since it was sold as is, mind you as is was for a clicking foot rest they refused any resolution. Any and all customers BEWARE

Bought a recliner. Recliner is ok, but the DELIVERYPROCESSWASN’T. Firstly, La Rue tells you they deliver 4 days a week. Not really true! Secondly, they don’t deliver on weekends — really, really, in this day and age, not to deliver on a weekend makes no sense. Thirdly, they only deliver 2 days a week in the North, and 2 days a week in the South, so you only have a choice of 2 weekdays to have your furniture delivered. Lastly, you can’t choose a time, so if you’re a working person, you can’t choose a weekend delivery, nor can you choose the time delivered, like after you come home from work, which means you have to be prepared to take time off from work to have your furniture delivered, which actually means the furniture costs you even more. Sumner Cohen, however, was a nice salesman.

We bought several pieces last year for our FL home, including a leather sectional. The back of one sofa had the rear damaged internally and allowed the leather back to ‘billow’. Mr. Maynard came out finally to look at it but would not replace the sectional. He arranged for a repair which was refused when the technician said the repair would only be temporary. Mr. Maynard should be aware that we are not ‘completely satisfied’ and feel ripped off in paying full price for a damaged item.

I live in the Boston area and heard thru a friend that has a home here and in Florida about LaRue Furniture. I have looked all over the Boston area but since the closing of Lexington Furniture there is nothing to my liking. I saw the furniture, art work and other adorning pieces and fell in love immediately! I was told to contact Neil David and I got on a plane! He’s charming, enthusiastic, knowledgable, creative, and absolutely loves his work! He spent 7 hours with me! I’m fussy and know what I like and we worked together well! I got a very good price for all I purchased and he will tango me when it arrives! I’m a very happy customer! Thank you Neil !
