Wide variety of vegetarian options, clean kitchen, delicious food. I wish communication was little better.

Great for veggie-heads!!! I’m not vegetarian nor vegan, but they have this veggie stuff down. I order the veggie chicken plates all the time. My only issue in the past was trying to find their vegetarian menus online. Last night I finally snagged the special menu to make sure the Internet world could discover the glory that is this supposed hole in the wall… But secretly a veggie Mecca.

Empire Wok is a vegetarian takeout Chinese restaurant in Albany. I was in the neighborhood and in the mood for some General Tso’s Chick’n, so I went with my mom. We were planning to eat in, and we did, but there’s only one small table. It’s not really a restaurant. However the food was really yummy and the prices were also good. If I lived in Albany I’d probably get take out here all the time!

Another mediocre Chinese restaurant in Delmar. Slightly better quality food than Great Wall. Will deliver and will take a credit card so that’s a plus. The egg rolls are smaller than any other Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to — more like spring roll size. See my pictures of the sesame shrimp which was pretty much sweet and sour shrimp with some sesame seeds sprinkled on top. I’ve never had the«sesame» preparation like this before. It was disappointing and deceiving. The shrimp were tiny and smothered in too much batter. General Tsao chicken, shrimp toast, pork fried rice are all decent.

Empire Wok is a small Chinese takeout restaurant offering a good«vegetarian style» Chinese menu with mock meat(chicken, beef, pork) dishes/items and the standard Chinese menu as well. The place is very small which is order at the counter with open kitchen and limited seating for eating in. I stopped in here for lunch takeout recently and decided to order off the Vegetarian Menu. I got the Lunch Special K3 Vegetable Chicken with Garlic Sauce($ 5.50 plus tax) served with Vegetable Pork Fried Rice & Vegetable Egg Roll, My order was hot & ready in about 10 minutes. The main dish had a mix of broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, baby corn, peppers, onions, and soft mock chicken in a sweet garlic sauce. The fried rice(gold yellow color) had a mix of carrots, peas, and soft pieces of mock pork. The egg roll was a light and crisp, filled with shredded cabbage and seasonings. The good lunch size portion of food overall was hot and tasty and price reasonably. My vegetarian peeps can go ahead and enjoy good«Veggie» Chinese food from Empire Wok without any guilt.

Difficult to expand further on what has already been a growing chorus of opinion, but I must agree that Empire Wok provides excellent dishes for vegetarians seeking protein/low-fat, an alternative to a veggie burger, and unpretentious pricing.

This place is great! It really had a nice selection. Very clean and very courteous employees. I can’t wait to go here again! The price was also very reasonable.

Great alternative«meat» selections for all the vegans/vegetarians. You can order all your favorites like General Tso’s chicken or Chicken and Broccoli. Nice change of pace from tofu and veggies that most Chinese places offer. And they have a separate menu with meat as well so everyone is happy.

I can only echo and strengthen the reviews found below: if you are looking for vegetarian Chinese food, look no further. Before I became a vegetarian, I absolutely loved Chinese takeout. Since making the switch, it is constantly making me jealous. Every time I smell a friend’s Chinese food, then remember that basically all I can order at many Chinese places is vegetable lo-mein, I think, «am I REALLY that committed to this vegetarian thing, anyway?» Luckily, I have been able to fend off the temptation to devour several orders of sesame chicken and then cry myself to sleep, mourning the loss of all morals and values I previously held dear. But the time was coming, so Empire Wok was a real savior. Now I can order Chinese(pretty much anything on the menu), eat it, and go to bed a happy man with my set of morals still in tact. I’d say that deserves 4 stars(plus, the food is good, cheap, and ready in 10 minutes). Struggling vegetarians, fear the smell of general tso no longer! Just take the drive into Delmar, stop at Empire Wok, and be free!

Love this place. Large vegetarian menu with mock meat. Especially delicious is the Vegetarian Sesame Chicken(seitan). I don’t know that you will find a better Chinese vegetarian menu in the capital district. And it is delicious. It’s pretty much for take out, but there are a few tables.

If you are a Vegetarian you must make a trip to Delmar. Empire Wok is a small run of the mill Chinese restaurant. It is made up of mostly kitchen and they don’t really have much space to sit and eat there but what they do have is an separate and extensive Vegetarian menu. Most Chinese restaurants will have a vegetable portion of their menu with some bean curd options but this is the only Chinese restaurant in the area that I know of with mock meats. Vegetarian Pepper Steak, General Tso Chicken, and Pork Fried Rice. Four stars for Vegetarian options!
