First visit. I ordered the shrimp plate and it was delicious. Daughter ordered the scallops And they were cooked to perfection. Sweet and tender. Husband ordered steak and lobster tail. The steak was cooked to perfection but he said the lobster tail was just a little off in flavor. Daughter’s boyfriend ordered the porterhouse steak. He loved it. He did mention the mashed potatoes tasted funny. He would order the baked tater next time. The combo appetizer plate was great. Soup very tasty and the salad was yummy with home made dressing was yummy as were the Portuguese beans. There was so much food we brought most of it home ! Our server was nice, prompt and helped with any question we had about the menu. We will definitely go back !

I highly recommend them. I had an amazing dinner. Service was good and very friendly. I would definitely make it a point to go again. My steak was perfect. They gave us more food then we could possibly eat. Brought home left overs and even made an order to go. 5 stars for sure!

Wonderful atmosphere, great service. Best steak and lobster. All food seasoned to perfection and very fresh. I felt spoiled when I left.

This is an interesting little place. It’s not in the nicest neighborhood and it doesn’t look like much from the outside however, once inside it has a nice feel to it. I’ve always had a good meal here. I usually order the Ribeye or Porterhouse Steak, and it’s always cooked just the way I ordered it. Service has always been very attentive, and friendly. Additionally there is a bar in the back, if you enjoy a cocktail as I do. It is a little on the expensive side, however there aren’t a lot of other choices of this caliber in the area.

Pretty good restaurant for a small Valley town. Had the salmon, and it was not overlooked. They ask you how you want it. The pudim with coconut is an excellent dessert, and worth a try.

Truly disappointed. 3rd time here and it’s gotten worse every time. Brought the wife and family from LA and u made me look bad. Gave u the benefit of the doubt and u let me down again. Baby backs are supposed to fall off bone. I’ve had house stakes that were more tender. $ 3 for a soft drink and no free refills. WTF!!! Server was very nice but hardly came around. Waited 20 min for the Check. $ 38 for one of the worst dinners I’ve had in 2015. Thank God the year is just about over. I’ll stick to the BBQ place I like in Merced. Elegant I will never donate to ur establishment again. Donate because $ 9.00 would of been to much for what I got in return

Pleasantly surprised! A small restaurant in a small town with BIG flavor. We had the 2 lb porterhouse and sopas. Both dishes were delicious! Our waitress, Wendy, was just as delightful as the food. She took her time to make us feel welcomed(toddler and all); she also went over the menu. Wednesday nights are ½ off wine bottles— can’t beat that deal. Our very picky toddler ate his plate, which says a lot.

Have been there two previous times that I would of gave four or 5 stars but today was rough. I waitress was either stretched too thin or thought that we wouldn’t give a good tip which if that was the case she was wrong. If tip according to the service. Unfortunately I had to keep asking other waitresses for refills and to check on our food. Everything seemed like it was coming out slow for us but quicker other tables. Out of the three filet mignons we got two were undercooked my poor daughter sent hers back and still it came back wrong. They gave her a 5 dollar free desert but that didn’t make up for the mistake on the 35 dollar steak she ordered. We left and 8 percent tip but if the service would of been there we would of definitely gave a 20 to 25 percent tip. Oh well. Maybe next time but won’t be for a while.

The food was fine but, for something this expensive, I expected better service. The waitress was constantly forgetting things and pretty much disappeared after the dessert was served. I also didn’t like that the veggies and beans were served in bowls for everyone to share and not individual servings on your plate. Not sure I would eat here again for these prices.

This meal did not reflect the price that it cost for $ 30 I got unseasoned steak and instant mashed potatoes the only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is due to the fact we came in very late on Mother’s Day

We liked it. The outside of the restaurant was deceiving, but once inside it was pleasant. Waitresses were very attentive throughout the entire meal. My filet Mignon was perfectly cooked. Soup, salad, beans and veggies served family style. Menu had lots of choices and our party of eight all enjoyed their meal.

We ate here for the second time on a Friday night. Was not disappointed at all. Hubby had the rib eye bone in again and it was fixed perfectly. I had a bite and it was so tender and good. I had rack of lamb and that too was cooked to perfection. We were glad to see if so busy and glad we had made reservations. For those who have complained about the décor, it is okay we are on Delhi for Pete sakes. And if it comes down to perfectly prepared good or expensive décor I will take the great food every time. One of best places we have eaten at all over the country and for sure the best in the valley! One thing they open at 4:30 not 5pm.

It was first of our dinner there. Location: Delhi, California near highway 99. Setting: the outside appearance was not impressive at night, like an old and small warehouse, but interior deco was elegant, and with the smart dividers it looked grant and serves for semi-privacy. Food: the seafood manual was original attraction but $$$ on Unilocal was our little worry as we are not big eater nor did we want to take big leftovers home for the next day. We found small plates on the back of the manual, and selected shrimp for him and red snapper for her. With soup and salad included, the price was worth the buck. Soup was Portuguese type, and delicious. Meals were well prepared. We will definitely go back. Parking: small parking lot is next to it although it may not be enough if they have a full house.

My husband wanted to try this place after some great reviews from friends. He invited his family to celebrate his birthday. The homestyle Portuguese bread was AMAZING! It was piping hot and delicious! Unfortunately, this was the best part of our meal. My SIL got the rack of lamb. When it was served to her, it had an odd odor, like marijuana. I thought it was just me, but then she leaned over and asked if I smelled it! Then my BIL made the same statement. Odd that the rest of our table started to smell what we did. Besides, that, my BIL ordered chicken parmesan. He tasted it and said that something was«off.» His wife also took a bite and they had to send it back to the kitchen. He said he had a hard time pinpointing what was wrong but felt that someone had open a can of tomatoes and put it over his chicken, which had no flavor. My SIL got a side of rice with her meal and she said it was bland. My husband ordered a rack of ribs and LOVED them! He said they were great but his mash potatoes were horrible! They tasted like cardboard and the gravy was really gelatinous. The rest of the food, chicken marsala, prime rib, bbq chicken were just OK. Nothing to be overly excited about. I forgot to mention that it took over an hour and a half to get the entrees. Overall, I thought service was terrible and outside the ribs and bread, so was their food. Too bad, we were all hoping this would be a good place to eat!

Ok so finally went here for dinner and must admit they really can cook a steak. The beef is Prime and so is the service. Drinks are a little pricy however the food is really to die for. From the salad to the bread it was a treat.

Saturday evening dinner. Our 1st visit to the Elegant Bull after years of driving by it while on Hwy 99. Upon entry we were greeted and seated by a pleasant waitress. Soup is served family style and we were given a choice of clam chowder or chicken and rice. We chose the c&r. It was clumpy and gelatinous. Next we were presented with our green salad. Both had way to much dressing! It pooled on the bottom and wilted the lettuce. The 2 dinner rolls were warm and soft. With our entrée we were given beans which were ok and a bowl of peas and carrots. We both ordered baby back ribs full rack which were Ginormous! We ordered sauce on the side and we were glad we did. It was very tangy. My side was rice which was oddly very salty. My husband had mashed potatoes and gravy with his entrée. The mashed potatoes were good but the gravy was gelatinous and tasted like cafeteria gravy. The white table cloth and candles are a nice touch. On the wall that faces the door when one walks in has a black board w/NEON writing(totally out of place) which doesn’t match or add to the ambiance of being elegant. There is also a laminated menu on the left corner wall that seems odd. The building is quaint but it seems that absolutely no thought was put into decorating the reasurant to convey a country/elegant atmosphere that comes to mind when you hear the name Elegant Bull. Perhaps if the owner looked at the reasurant with fresh eyes they could jazz up the place with minimal cost and rethink the large framed poster of a beer bottle. The waitress that helped us was pleasant, attentive and informative. The staff and perhaps it was the owner, were speaking loudly about situations that occured in the reasturant that perhaps should have been discussed in the kitchen as opposed to where we were eating. Our visit was ok and our curiosity of The Elegant Bull has now been satisfied.

It’s an island of elegance and fine dining in the small town of Delhi! Ambiance is very nice, service is good, prices are high(to maintain the exclusiveness of the restaurant in the small town of Delhi that only has taco trucks and a pizza place). Food tastes good, and they have a good wine selection– but not all wine is available by the glass! So get your roll on with the bottles, and if you live in Delhi, then you can just walk home!

One word. Excellent! My wife had a burger that was top notch. All food is fresh. Even the chicken strips for the kids were hand made. A bit pricey but worth it. Very family oriented.

The Elegant Bull is a central valley classic. If you have never been here you need to go just for the experience. I would give them a 5 star rating except the place is so old! The ceiling in the back room where I ate was almost low enough to bump my head on(I am tall). The food is very tasty and the service is solid, the owner often sits out in the main dining room and greets his guests himself. Very comfortable and fun place to eat.

Wow, This might be the best family style restaurant I have ever visited. The décor — not the great. But nice and clean. The price — seems high until you look at the quantity and quality. I ordered the lamb chop and my GF ordered the rib eye. Amazing!!!

I have had the opportunity to eat here and both times were very good. This is a Little hole in the wall place, and off the HWY99 shank road exit into the small town of Delhi The menu has much to offer. The wine list is good but costly. «Franks Wine» List has a good selection but, 218 $ is a Little high. I will return because the steaks I had were very good. The Langucia is Franks own recipe and is GOOD!
