Great customer service is quite delightful when it’s the real thing, and here, Margo and Jamie went above and beyond to ensure we left with everything our life needed.
The selection here is pretty good and it seems as though there is a running deal when you buy 3 products you’ll get the 4^th item free… That’s nice.
Jamie was so nice to provide my mom and me samples and help us try out the many different makeup products in order to ensure we were walking away with something we loved.

What maybe would have made my experience a little sweeter:
I would appreciate it if there were more hypoallergenic and dermatologist recommended selections, or at least a better labeled section, as I need such items with extra sensitive skin. Though I definitely didn’t leave empty handed!
More organic product would be nice to see as well.
Also, I wish the prices were also on the ‘try me’ samples so we don’t have to ask for each one that doesn’t have stock on display.

Learn to staff your store properly. Rents in this shopping center are not cheap and you will be gone if you don’t get it together.
I decided to stop by and buy a few things to surprise my GF who is returning from military duty in Germany. As I’m walking in, the store associate says she is going to lunch and closing the store.
That’s fine, I’ll go to Ulta instead. I’m happier spending $ 200 on gifts at a place that cares enough to staff sufficiently and actually put in work to earn my business.

When I first moved to LA and the OC this was my first beauty supply store (so I suppose I have an affinity for the place)!
Recently, LivingSocial offered a deal for $ 15 to purchase $ 30 worth of product. it’s easy to spend this on beauty products and it’s a great way to try new things you might not normally try.
I visited the Del Mar Heights location and not only had the benefit of the savings, but I purchased a hair product line, buy three items, get one free!
The staff was fashionable and friendly and I am very happy with my product!

I love sherry for threading! She is so fun & knowledgeable about what she’s doing. My brows look better now then they ever have thanks to her. I never knew about threading till she explained the benefits & how much better threading is than wax is over time. Sherry is very experienced & professional at what she does. Book with her for brows, lip, face threading & you will not be disappointed. Her prices are super reasonable as well.

I work down the road from Planet Beauty and on a whim I walked in on my lunch break. I needed some shampoo and conditioner, bronzer, and a few other miscellaneous items.
The moment I walked in I was greeted by a precious blonde who was incredibly kind and asked me if I needed help. (I don’t know who it was– Sorry! it was Thursday at 1:30)! I told her was looking for some hair products but I was on a budget. She took me directly to her favorite section, right in my price range. She was not pushy nor did she take me to higher priced items. She asked me questions that helped better clarify exactly what I needed for my hair.
She then washed a brush and let me try some of their Bare Mineral bronzer and gave me a few more minutes to walk around. I enjoyed my experience there and their friendliness and commitment to my purchase.
I purchased bronzer and sample sizes of the shampoo and conditioner. When I got to my car I opened my bag and was very surprised to find a sample of a series of face washes I was looking at (and chose not to buy.) How kind!
Very impressed with their customer service and their dedication to their customers. Although carrying high-​priced items, nothing beats good service!

I’ve been going into this store for about ten years. First, let me clarify that this review relates to the store, not the hair stylist. I walked in to buy a product that I have been buying there for years. The woman in the store walked out from behind the counter and asked, «Can I help you?» I was taken aback, because I had just stepped into the store. She then proceeded to follow me and to watch me as if to make sure I was not going to steal anything. I could buy and sell this cheap looking you know what, so I was not impressed. Also, she refused to give me my usual discount. the manager was extremely rude as well. i did not buy the item. Where do they find these people?
Needless to say, I will not be going back in there. This store will be gone in 6 months. I call for a boycott of this store until the old staff are bought back. They were friendly and professional.

Great selection of brands kerastase, ENJOY, Jane Iredale, bare essentials, Alterna, bliss and best of all PERRICONE. If you are a frequent buyer or sign up they are always willing to work out a great deal with you. 20% off hair care as long as its not one of the brands that does not allow it and buy 3 get one free. The girls are very nice and willing to answer questions and help out! Linda does peels which are $ 35 on Tuesdays glycolic and enzymes which are amazing !! I’ve gotten a few. Don’t forget to tip :) and honestly it’s rare you ever have a problem I’ve seen the girls always willing to work something out with you because they want you to come back !! I know where to get my skin care and makeup from now on

Yesturday, we had a nasty experience with the supposed manager, Tanya. We were trying to exchange a defective spray can, but were insulted in the rudest way by her.
This was the second time the spray can didn’t work correctly and instead of making us feel better, Tanya made us seem inept. We looked up the product online and saw
that many consumers had the same complaints about it. We went back to show her a copy of the complaints, but she didn’t feel like dealing with it.
In the past we recommended the Del Mar location to friends and family, unfortunately now we’ll make sure they stay away.

I needed good shampoo and conditioner, which would cost not a fortune. I found fair selection of good brands for very decent prices. Shop stuff was very helpful and guided me through items they sell. I also noticed they have a stylist corner, where customers can get a full «beauty upgrade». I’m coming back for sure.

This review is based on their Groupon only.
It clearly stated they carried Jane Iredale makeup, which is why I bought the Groupon figuring I’d use it on a trek to SD to get some JI makeup.
I walked in & couldn’t find it. A salesperson asked to help me & I asked if they carried Jane Iredale & she said no. I said YOU DON’T?!? as I was totally in shock having just bought the Groupon a week ago. I thought maybe I didn’t hear her right & she confirmed that no, they didn’t.
What!!!
I wondered around trying to find SOMETHING to use the Groupon for, since I use natural products, not the typical brands found in a beauty supply like this one.
Fortunately they had some Tweezerman products on a rack that was highly picked over & missing many items.
Came back to the car & looked at the Groupon to confirm I had not absolutely lost it & right there in the body clearly called out «Mineral makeup trailblazer Jane Iredale…» in the copy.
Thank goodness they had one final pair of TM nippers, or I’d be dealing w/​Groupon to get a refund.
Disappointed!!!

I just moved to San Diego and was nervous about finding a new hair stylist. Sara came highly recommended, so I made an appointment. She was very friendly and understood what I as asking for. My highlights look better than my old stylist! My haircut was beautiful too. I would recommend her; she is a hidden gem! The prices are awesome too. I’m glad I found a new stylist!

Julianna is a great hairstylist. Always up to date with the trend, she knows exactly what to do. Its hard to find stylists that will listen to what you want, and she makes it a point to do it your way while making it a creation of her own. Very upscale yet affordable products are used, and the styling prices are right on. The salon is also a beauty supply and you can find anything you need from skincare makeup and hair product to perfumes and candles. The entire staff is very upbeat and its a very relaxed environment. They even have a facial room where they do waxing services as well. I love that you can sample alot of their makeup lines and my favorite thing to get here is professional skin care products. Back to Julianna, she is a very talented hairstylist with a super personality and humor to match, I was bummed to see a bad review on here because she really is one of a kind. I highly recommend Planet Beauty!

Julianna is by far the BEST hairstylist I’ve had. Ever.
She has been cutting my hair since 2004 and I have ALWAYS loved what she does with it. I usually tell her my general idea of how I want my hair to look and, as always, it turns out better than I originally expected. The best part is that she works with the natural texture, shape, and hair type to create a style that not only suits my hair, but requires little, if no, product and styling. Jules, I don’t know where my hair would be without you! :)
I cannot believe that anyone could ever have a bad experience with her. It appears that the first poster, CoCo Chris Y., is the type of person who is just angry at the world. Unfortunately, she’s hurting herself the most and I truly hope for her sake (and the sake of those around her) that she finds help or inner peace… or something.
I have referred many people to Julianna and they’ve only had good experiences with her. Obviously, this CoCo person was a fluke.
It’s ok, Jules. 1 rude, unhappy client out of 100 or more clients ain’t bad. :)
