We have looked in here a couple of times since moving recently to nearby Solana Beach. Today I dropped by looking for a special card and a small personal gift for my wife’s birthday. Mariana was very helpful and I found exactly what I knew my wife would like. They’ve got a lot of neat gift ideas in here and the prices aren’t too steep. The coffee shop next door is good too.

Flower Hill has a fresh new energy! Pangaea Outpost is the best place to one stop shop for any type of gift in any price range. Hand painted meditation rocks by local artist Julie Ann Stricklin to beautifully designed coffee table books based on local artists, designers and chefs by Wabisabi Green. Unique clothes, shoes, jewelry .even toys and unique party hats! Drop by and find your special treasure!

I was on the hunt for Archipelago Botanicals Maison Luxe Manor Soy Candles only to find they’d been discontinued. I searched online and found Pangaea Outpost had a few left in their inventory. I was absolutely THRILLED! Tracy was incredibly patient, positive and absolutely committed to helping me purchase the items I wanted from the vendor carrying them. Her extra effort really was noted and THE reason for my taking time to write up this 5 star review. Thanks again for all your help and, to the vendor who had the candles, thank YOU very much for honoring the online price.

PERFECT place to visit if you have a ‘sniffing’ OCD like me. No joke. They’re kinda like Leaping Lotus in Solana Beach: huge inventory of various knick knacks. What I love most about this place is their candle inventory. They have a HUGE selection of candles to choose from and I could spend hours sniffing each and every single one of ‘em like a weird bloodhound that I am. It’s an adorable shop that’s definitely not pretentious or snobby(considering it’s location). It’s almost attached to the Pannikin right next door(there’s no real wall separating these two places). Are the prices here decent? Not really. I mean, again, we’re in DELMAR people. There’s no real discount places in this neck of the woods. Planet Beauty in the same mall carries the exact same candle that I love(Voluspa). They’re about the same price BUT Planet Beauty sometimes has a 20% entire store kinda deal. I don’t believe Pangaea offers that. The woman working here when I visited was incredibly helpful and nice. We spoke a bit about their candles/lotions/etc inventory and she seemed to know her stuff. They also carry local honey which is hard to find these days(even Whole Foods next door doesn’t carry local honey). I heard local honey can do magic on someone with severe allergies like myself so I’ll have to come back here to purchase one of their honey bears(see pic). I have a crush on this remodeled Promenade so it’s fun to take an Afternoon-cay(Afternoon + Vacation = Afternooncay) browsing all the stores they have here. And Pangaea definitely was a fun spot to visit and browse.

Another cute knick-knack store in the area of Solana Beach. This one is especially convenient because I can stop to it pre-coffee, post-chocolate, post-yoga(I wish), post cheese, pre-wine… You see what I did there? There’s a lot in the surrounding area. That makes this place tops. Because I’m way more likely to actually walk into this store(or get my fiancé to go to this store with me) if I’m right next to it for something else. Love that they carry some Noon jewelry there, too, because I miss their store in North County! They also have all sorts of other jewelry, gifts, clothing, etc. I believe it’s actually one of those shops-of-little shops. But this one is not so large that it’s got a hawaiian shirt mini-shop. It’s just the right size to still feel cohesive. And the gag gifts go a long way in helping my fiancé not run out of there, so I appreciate that.

This is a really fun store with lots of cool gifty things and things that you know you don’t need but buy anyway. And although its in Del Mar amongst some other pricey shops stuff here is reasonably priced. You can expect to find scarves, candles, jewelry, funny knick-knacks, some clothing, a few books and seasonal items here. I remember when I was Unilocaling Lotus(Solana Beach) back in May that a lot of people compared to Lotus to Pangaea and I would say that was spot on, although Pangaea is considerably smaller. I’m not sure that I would drive to Del Mar just to go to Pangaea but if I have the occasion to visit this shopping center I would be adament about stopping in Pangaea.

Nice shop, lots of different fancy candles. I needed to buy a «Trapp» orange-vanilla scented candle as a gift and they had two in stock. These particular candles are hard to find in shops as they only have a few local retailers. They are my wife’s favorite candles. Price was decent. Service was good. No problems at all. Plenty or parking inside the parking garage behind the new Whole Foods and there is a nice walkway that leads you directly to all of the shops. Don’t bother trying to fight for a parking space out in front. Those spots are uncovered and not even any closer than the garage in back.

You can’t make it out of this place without buying a cute shirt or funky pair of earrings. Great shop for buying gifts, stocking stuffers, hats, jewelry, candles, and women’s clothing.

I’ve been to both the PB and the Del Mar store and I am a big fan! The Del Mar store is very reasonable, helpful and full of fabulous one of a kind items! I purchased half my Christmas list in here! The staff is great, and there is no pressure!

You wouldn’t even know its there! It’s tucked in the middle of the Flower Hill Mall in Del Mar. It’s next to Pannikin Coffee Shop and is of the newer editions to shopping in the plaza. Definitely check this place out for birthday gifts, holidays and cultural«FUN» stuff. They have an array of cards, magnets, jewelry, clothing, paintings, interior decorating pieces for the home etc… I wouldn’t have known about this place if is was not for my friend. Today I went in and saw some great displays and met a couple vendors that have their things displayed there. One girl showed me her recycled wine bottles that she turns into candle pieces. Another girl showed me her display of knitted clothing and baby wear. I also saw another great display of earthy products like succulent look alike candles, bird houses, pillows made out of sustainable fabrics and cut owl pieces to decorate in the house. The Sales clerks were super nice. The store had a lot to look at and the prices for most things were VERY reasonable. Check this place out and SUPPORT local artisans in their crafts. You can see a lot of time and effort put into their displays. While you are at it, grab a coffee at Pannikin. Great store and great products. More people need to know about this place!

I love the eclectic goodies here. Snagged a gorgeous little ring last time I was in there and also some fabulous lotion. Great for knick-knacks and odd pieces that you wouldn’t find in chain stores. Excellent for specialty body care products, hats, etc.
