Robin’s Nest on the Katy is in the same building as the Katy Trail Bike Rental. I’m sure it’s a great place to stop and shop when you’re driving the wine trail or, I assume, when you’re biking the Katy. Robin’s Nest has some of the same sort of thing you’d see in old St. Charles, but it isn’t jammed in, plus the place is well lit, so you can see everything in there. I had the pleasure of first visiting Robin’s Nest when I was in a wedding and we took some photos behind the store. There’s a beautiful bridge and then the Missouri River in the distance behind this charming old general store-like building. At the time, Robin’s Nest was filled with Halloween decorations. If you’re at all into Halloween decorating or need a gift for that occasion, I highly recommend Robin’s Nest. I was unable to truly shop that day, so I returned within the month, and I’ve been to Robin’s Nest some 4 or 5 times since. It’s great in all seasons, but the fall is my favorite to do anything in or around Highway 94. Once I went and there were samples of wine and coffee. That was my lucky day! Some items there are a bit too pricey for me, but they make great gifts. Robin’s Nest also spotlights local artists. Yesterday, I bought a greeting card made by an artist from Defiance. If you are driving by, be sure to stop at Robin’s Nest and look around.
