We usually don’t come as often but decided to have some sushi tonight, sadly I am very disappointed on our decision. So heres the breakdown 3 rolls: No wow factor, seamed like we ordered from Marianos or Jewels; at 16 dollars a roll it should’ve wowed us. We did moment on it when we were asked if we were happy/doing fine and right away the waitress said«well we don’t refund on rolls», the thing is #1 we never called you over and #2 you asked how we were doing and we truthfully let you know and finally #3 we never asked for it to be deducted One roll tasted so «off» I ordered an additional roll, left the other one un eaten and still, was never approached or an apology given :( Service: this place is generally packed, many times the food can vouch for that, other times I believe because Tskausa across the street is too packed and in our area there isn’t much of an option but today we waited 8 minutes for a glass of water, had to call someone over to refill the water, and additionally had to ask another waitress to bring us our check. Extremely disappointed in our overall dinner. Does anyone know what the owners name is? I think this might be a chain but would love for him to get an insight.

Probably best sushi in NW suburbs! Super fresh and delicious, very nice plating too. I loved the chirashi, sashimi appetizer and the chocolate soufflé! Yum

One of my faves. Sushi quality is very good and the creation of their special rolls is amazing. Price is good for what you get. Recommend samba fire, spicy tuna crunch, rainbow and red dragon. Nice staff, very clean inside. Wine specials available as well.

We had a birthday dinner reservation. The reservation didn’t seem to matter, we waited an extremely long time. A similar party that had arrived after us got seated first. The owner comped us free appetizers and dessert to try to make up for the service. She was a sweet lady. The staff was overworked, and service was slow. Luckily the food was all delicious. Better luck on a week night maybe.

I can believe it took me so long to finally check this restaurant out! I was meeting my cousin for dinner and we wanted sushi. She had been to Tokio Sake and wanted to meet there so I could try it. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was going to like the restaurant based on the ambience alone! I ordered a hot tea which came out in a teapot which is always a plus. We ordered three rolls to split between the two of us. We enjoyed all of them. Good quality fish and great flavor combinations. We ordered the Banilla for desert. Usually I don’t like banana p, but when you fry them and add vanilla ice cream on top they are delicious! Service was prompt and friendly. I am sure I will be going back!

Highly recommend! First I loved the ambience, had an upscale yet cozy feel that felt authentic. Service was great, very professional and prompt. Most importantly, the food was outstanding! We had the beef asparagus appetizer which was cooked perfectly. We tried four different sushi dishes, monster, Godzilla, crunch delight, and Amazon were all so good I couldn’t decide which one was best! Drinks and dessert were yummy as well. I have tried a lot of different sushi restaurants and it is rare I have loved everything but Tokio Sake was spot on!

The best sushi we’ve had in the NW burbs. Fresh flavorful fish. Great rolls and huge variety of them. Amazing white sangria. Friendly staff. Family friendly. Our favorite sushi spot since we left the city.

I travel a lot for work. I’m a total foodie and love to try local fare(no chains), so I rarely ever go to the same place twice. This was one of those rare occasions. The first night I ordered(take out) the Butterfly role and the Tokio Salad. The role was SO good and the salad was huge. This role is listed on their menu under«spicy», but it is not. At all. I love ginger, so my beef with sushi, whether take out or dine in, is that they never give me enough. That was not the case here. I opened my box to a heaping portion, along with a cute little dish for my wasabi and soy sauce mixture. My total was $ 23.49 inc tax. Having such a fabulous experience, I just had to go back the second night. Ordered the Deer Park Crazy role and the Spicy Tuna Seaweed Salad. This salad WAS spicy and delicious, as was the role. Was happy to find an ample amount of ginger again, along with my perfect little soy sauce dish. Total this night was $ 28.85 inc tax. Since I had take out both nights, I had limited interaction with staff. There was a different woman who helped me each night, and both were equally warm and friendly. Will definitely be back if in the area.

I love this little Sushi Bar.- it’s local(my Organic & Holistic Spa in Phenix Suites is 2 doors down), it’s owned by a nice Lady, Julia, has pleasant Wait Staff *my fav is Susan*,. and is very very delicious! I am an Integrative Nutritionist,. I studied Japanese Culture(including food), worked for a Japanese company for 5 years and ate high quality Japanese fare frequently, am a Pescatarian(one of the main meats I ever eat is wild caught sushi /sashimi /make etc), — and kinda know my stuff, about this subject. And I really love it: the food, and the environment. The lunch menu is reasonably priced, especially. And I have to say an extra thanks for offering the 10% discount to fellow Deer Park Town Center business owners /employees. Nice. :-) Arigato, Tokio Sake! ;-)

TokioSake is by far one of my favorite sushi restaurants in the area. The assorted caviar appetizer is my favorite(sea urchin, tobiko(flying fish roe-red and wasabi), ikura(salmon roe), and a quail egg). And I usually get the sunrise Roll(the roll with fresh salmon and ikura on top of it with a miso sauce). The service is very fast and the waitstaff is super friendly. I would and do recommend this place! 5 stars! In fact I’m going there for lunch today and have eaten here at least 6 times prior.

Amazing place. We go to try many sushi places, and this place by far is one of the best. From their rolls, you can taste every single ingredient in them, and the rice is in perfect shape. We tried a few rolls, the Philly, and the spicy tuna rolls are simply excellent. I got the sushi and rolls combo, and the nigiri rolls were so fresh. Simply amazing. One of the best places for sure.

Bummed! Tried the sushi for the first time tonight. Had a dragon roll or something like that with tempura, scallop, crab meat etc. The sushi tasted awful! Spicy mayo was not good as well. Only giving two stars for customer service, they are fast and very nice. BUT I’ll stick to Fuji Thai for my sushi!

The sushi at Tokio Sake is hands down the best in the area. They have the food part down cold, never a complaint there. Well done Tokio Sake. Service on the other hand could be better. The staff is very nice, they’re just so… very…slow… Usually I wouldn’t be terribly bothered, but when you come in to eat with two small children and have to wait ten minutes to order drinks, let alone food, it tends to pose a problem. It’s like this every time we’ve been there, even if there are only two other tables. Also, the tables on the main floor are very close together. I can’t take my 5 yr old to the bathroom without bumping a chair or table on the way there and I’m not even a large person. The seating poses a problem if you bring kids with. It just does. It’s a very tight situation. I can always hear what the person at the next table is saying and so can my kids, the seating is that intimate. This can lead to very awkward questions from my little ones. I would suggest saving the main floor tables for couples and put people with kids in the alcove seating or by the windows. That will keep kids contained while they anxiously await ordering and help keep parents calm. I know the staff doesn’t like to use the alcove seating very often, but when we are a party of four and we are paying $ 80 + for a meal, I think an alcove is warranted. I’m sure the other patrons would appreciate it too.

My personal favorite sushi place in the deer park/palatine/Arlington heights area. The patio is nice, while it doesn’t have a view. The sushi is GREAT! The women at the hostess stand are super sweet. The inside is nice and when it’s busy it has a great ambience. I love the shrimp shumai. They have a pretty good wine selection. My favorite rolls are the coconut shrimp and tempura crunch rolls! Definitely can’t go wrong here !

I found another hidden gem of a sushi place. I say hidden as this is on the back side of a strip mall and unless you’re made aware of its existence, you can miss it. Again, thanks to Unilocal in helping me find this place. It is actually large, has plenty of table seating, some private areas and of course the sushi bar/counter itself. The ambiance is decorated as one would hope for a sushi place and playing traditional, Japanese music.(it bothers me when I’m listening to some acid rock at a sushi place… it just kills it for me) On the menu you’ll find the normal assortment and familiar names, along with several uniquely named /combinations. I always like going with some of my familiar roles as this is how I gauge sushi place to sushi place to which I typically select something along the lines of a Philly, Spicy Tuna, and Spider. Then, if they have something unique I’ll try that too! Coming here on at least three occasions, I’ve NOT had a bad experience yet. I usually make it here in mid afternoon, so I can’t comment how good the service is when they are packed, but for me the service has always been great. I’ve also been lucky and my order comes out rather quickly. The roles are packed nicely and don’t fall apart on the way from plate to mouth as some places do. The ingredients are always very fresh and cut just right for the role. I personally favor their salmon & tuna. This is not to say the other fish is bad, as I’ve yet to have anything tasting«fishy» or off base. The only thing I would comment on is that their«spicy» is not overly spicy. Even when you make this clear to them, they still don’t adjust it by that much. I’ve resorted to asking for more wasabe and even there I have to prod for a larger portion. I don’t live near this location, and it has become my lunch spot when I get over in this direction to stop by the Apple store. So, it’s almost becoming a tradition, when I go to the Apple store here, the kinds know we’re having sushi for lunch!
