We just moved to this side of Atlanta and we had been looking for a place to get the kids hair cut. After asking around and reading reviews we decided to give Salon Red Kids a shot! Super glad we did. The salon is cute with a boutique upfront. We saw Tiffany, she did a great job on my son’s hair. We will definitely be back soon!!!

Baby’s first haircut(19 months) and our stylist was great. No problems with our wiggleworm. She took us on time for our appointment, was friendly to parents and son and listened to our style requests.

I took my 12 year old son to Salon Red Kids for the first time today. Jay was the stylist and she did an excellent job on my son. We showed her a photo of the cut we wanted and she did it perfectly! Her price was fair and actually less than I was expecting. The salon is really cute and they have lots of cool toys and Star Wars items for kids — I like Star Wars too though, aha! So, if you’re like me and a Star Wars fan, you’d probably like it here as well. 5 stars for a talented, friendly stylist and an adorable little salon.

After a great meal on the square, we were in a great mood but it was spoiled when we went to Salon Red Kids. They were totally involved in their salon in the back, I guess. We received recommendations to look for kid clothing there, but our presence was never acknowledged. I wonder why after 20⁄25 minutes of browsing, NOONE had anything to say to us. These folks had a kid friendly setup but forced my «franklins» out the door with their attitude. THUMBSDOWN on this one.

I was in the salon today. We were not using the salon for service but looking at the clothing and toys in the front to purchase and outfit for my daughter. It was the saddest and meanest reception I have ever encountered. No one said hello, may I help you or anything. I have been in Atlanta for 2 years and I have never been treated so rudely. It felt like a scene from Pretty woman, where she wouldn’t be waited on because they didn’t think she had money or wanted to serve her«kind». Wise up ladies, you missed a big sale today. Big Mistake!

Debbie at Salon Red Kids is the best! She is very patient and sweet, and knows just how to distract the kids enough to get a great haircut every time! A full kids haircut isn’t the cheapest in town, but a $ 5 bang trim can’t be beat. We have been bringing our kids here for 3 years now

Took my 13 month old here for his first haircut. I expected screaming and squirming, but he happily sat in the fire engine chair and played with a train set while getting his hair cut. Mrs. MJ was great with him and even put some curls in a little bag for my scrapbook. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Took my 3 year old son here after reading some reviews for the salon. From the moment we stepped into the salon I was pleased and honestly excited for him to get his hair cut. We went on Halloween day and were sweetly greeted by a middle 20’s stylist dresses as Red Riding Hood. My son was taken to a metal radio flyer fire truck where he happily plopped down and began driving to go save the day while she cut his hair. She turned his overgrown locks into an adorable hipster faux hawk! We will be back for sure!

I grew up having my oldest sister owning one of the top salon’s in Milwaukee when I was a young boy, and I have always payed attention to the small details and how she treated her customers, listened to their needs and always made sure her clients left feeling beautiful. Well, my wife and I have been taking our son who has just turned 3 year since the age of one, we drive about a hour once a month to come to Salon Red Kid’s because they always deliver. The ladies who work here have a niche, they know how to work with young children very well, which is obviously not something easy for everyone, kid’s are unpredictable, but they always manage and find a way to cut their young clients hair. My son seems to enjoy his hair cut, he is relaxed and patient, which says a lot. The ladies listen and deliver, so I leave happy and my son looks fantastic. The salon is really cute looking. It has a store in the front and then 5 chairs in the back. Three of the chairs used for cutting kids hair are antique toy cars from the 50’s and 60’s, the kids love them. They sell really good hair products for kids as well. When it comes to hair products, I ask my sister who travels to hair shows in London, Paris, New York and LA, she knows what is good and she always sends hair products for our kids. It happens to be that Salon Red Kids sells the same products all natural hair products for children. They smell good and are gentle. The way I see it, is if we are driving 70 miles round trip, then this is definitely a great place to for a person to take their child to get a cut. For me, this is not unusual, as I have friend’s who book flights to get a good hair cut in another state. When your good, your good. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone with young children.

Salon Red Kids is over priced and not especially nice to you. They have a really bizarre policy where you can’t add a tip on to your debit card, so you have to bring cash. Girl at the front desk said the policy was«better for the salon», but what about its customers? I was directed to run around the corner to the ATM machine(while incurring a $ 3 fee) with my 2 year old in arms so I didn’t seem like some poor piece of shit to the stylist. Georgia Department of Revenue, are you listening? Why would this place let you pay for their over priced haircuts and merchandise with a debit card yet exclude any tips from being added on? I’ll be taking my daughters to the great clips down the street or to Miss Lisa’s if I can get an appointment.

I have 3 children ages 7,9 and 12. I live near here so thought I would try it. I called to make an apt my oldest daughter has very curly hair not everyone can cut I was assured they had a perfect match for me . Got there not very friendly I kid you not the lady took 5 min to cut my younger daughters hair did not even look cut .My son she used clippers on that dragged hurt his head. My oldest with curly hair was last I asked if they could wash her hair sink not working so had to take her outside to salon red to wash it. My daughter just wanted a trim so she could still pull hair up the lady took so much hair off can not pull hair up and cut it in a wedge in back looks horrible my 12 year cried all the way home. I would never recommend this place cost me $ 60 bucks plus tip for really bad hair cuts

Love this place for kids cuts! Other kids cuts places cut my daughters hair unevenly and didn’t really listen to how much length I wanted cut off. Not Salon Red Kids. They listened to me, made suggestions, and cut my daughters long hair beautifully. Their prices are competitive and the salon is perfect for kids.

I don’t have children of my own but I do have neices and nephews to shop for and I love this place. It’s much more of an old fashioned toy Store than a kids salon. yes there are a few seats for kids to get hair cuts, but I’d wager that 75% of the customers are in there for the crazy colorful and cute toys and gifts. Salon Red Kids had a great Scoutmob deal that meant I got to hook it up for the triplets(thats right 3 babies — owch!) for a great discount. I had no idea how cool the place was until the deal came out, cheers Scoutmob.

I used to take my kids here to get their hair cuts. When it was just my daughter, it was ok. We’d get her haircut and I’d usually pick up some toys on sale at the store for the birthday present closet. Once I had two kids, though, it was a nightmare. Even though the salon is in the back and has toys to play with, whichever kid was not getting their haircut would inevitably want to look at all the cool toys in the store, and there were usually tears involved in separating them from toys and candy I didn’t want to buy in the end. Also, the last couple of times we went in, I didn’t think anyone there was especially nice. It’s supposed to be a salon entirely for kids, but they seemed unsympathetic and sometimes almost mean about pretty normal kid behavior. Our last straw with this place was when Lisa, who gives the best kids’ haircuts in town, left and opened her own salon(Miss Lisa’s Cuts for Kids). We now go there and LOVE it.

I had been cutting my 14-month old’s hair myself, but I had gotten to the point where I could not cut anything since he was so squirmy. I originally thought the idea of a salon just for kids was rather snobby. But, now I see how they can be a necessity! The firetruck chair and cartoon-on-TV managed to keep my son still for about 1 minute. But our stylist was so patient! I don’t know how they did it, but they managed to give my always-on-the-move toddler a straight haircut. I’ll definitely be back!

I didn’t know this was a salon until I went to the back of the store. What was supposed to be a window shopping and ice cream run through Downtown Decatur turned into more than a half hour at Salon Red Kids. Not because my nieces were getting their hair done, but because we played with all of the toys and crafts on display for sale. Salon Red Kids has an interesting concept; it’s a toy store and salon wrapped into one. Matter fact about sixty percent of the store is toys. Ironically they had hula hoops, Mary Jane like chews and other toys from twenty plus years ago; all things that kept us occupied before the internet and game systems. While my nieces had a blast this place made me reminisce. Check out Salon red Kids for a walk down memory lane or a hair cut for the kids. They have some interesting simulated ride like seats in the salon to make children comfortable.
