I went in on a Friday for the spray tan services. I opted to pay for the monthly membership for a level 2 spray tan(which is unlimited and a better deal than just paying for single use). I was told that I would need a developer, body wash and a lotion in order to ensure the longevity of my tan– which is fine, I don’t mind spending the extra money if it is necessary– so after spending roughly $ 130 for the mystic tan and products, I was sure that I would be satisfied. The young girl took me back to the booth, and set me up– THISWASWHENTHINGSWENTHORRIBLYSOUTH. I was told I only needed to put the barrier cream on my acrylic nails, and my toe nails, which are pedicured regularly– I do so. I step in and go through the cycle– instead of being misted and golden, the booth started spitting out bursts of orange all over– I don’t think the orange leopard look is what I was going for– but fine I am pretty understanding. I go to the girl, and make her aware and she was obviously consumed with her boyfriend breaking up with her, and didn’t really consider that I now looked like a leopard– she then try’s to spray me with a temp tan– not what I wanted or paid for– and I said I would like to remove it and start over– well apparently you can’t remove the spots, so she said to just go through another cycle– okay fine– I’m a little angry at this time– but I wanted a tan– I step back into the booth, went through the cycle and then left. When I got home I noticed the lovely shade of orange on my hands and feet, and in between my toes and fingers, as well as on my elbows and knees– I was FUMING– I just spent $ 130 Andy get this– I went to the Huntsville and the girl explained to me that I should have been told to put the barrier cream all over my hands and feet and in dry skin areas– and that the booth in Decatur was not cleaned regularly and that was why I had the experience– two weeks later and the Orange is barely starting to come off my hands and feet, and my tan was corrected by the Huntsville location(of course I had to pay an additional $ 25, which pissed me off considering the«100% guarantee or tan is on us» bull crap– I WILLNOTBERENEWINGINAUGUST– this is a horrible chain who only cares about taking your money and not the actual satisfaction of the customer…

Palm Beach Tan in Decatur, AL is using what I deemed to be fraudulent practices. I signed up for what I believed to be a one month membership. Their advertisement was for $ 19.99. They charged me twice that amount because there was a $ 20 activation fee(not mentioned in the ad). There were 11 days left in the month so on the first of the next month they charged a monthly fee to my credit card. None of this was explained clearly. I used used the service for 12 days and will never return. They refuse to cancel your membership over the phone. The Customer Care center on the website did call back and even though they were reluctant did cancel my membership and agree to take my credit card out of the system. Citizens Beware!
