My wife and I were traveling for somber reasons but found the Decatur DoubleTree an oasis in the midst of many booked hotels… You see, Rock the South was getting ready to occur and most, if not nearly all, hotels were booked. We got lucky and found a room with DoubleTree. The front desk staff was phenomenal from ensuring our room was ready to accommodating our SA. Room service was on the spot as were the meals ordered. The pool area was quiet and you have the option of being inside or outside and still have access to the pool. Thank you DoubleTree for your superb service during our family loss.

Great experience while attending Alabama Jubilee. Nice, spacious hotel with comfortable rooms and pleasant, attentive staff. We forgot a plug for our USB iPhone charger and the front desk staff were pleased to lend us one. We had breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. It was good. Lots of options. Only complaint was that it took a long time for our omelette sir be delivered. The server apologized without being prompted, but by the time they arrived we were full from the other food. I felt wasteful and disappointed that I missed out on a tasty looking omelette! Overall, highly recommend this hotel if your in the area.

Beautiful, newly remodeled hotel. Everything is new, and the staff is friendly. But a couple of issues prevent me from recommending this hotel to others. 1) the breakfast isn’t free and it’s not worth the price(runny eggs, undercooked sausage, standard fare that you would find for free at other hotels combined with slow service). 2) THENOISE in the room is unbearable. The first 2 nights, I was in a room facing the street and trucks engine-braking and accelerating woke me up throughout the night. I requested to be moved to a riverside room, and the noise from the bridge was still an issue, plus now I heard trains sounding their horn throughout the night. I got terrible sleep for the duration of my stay. Perhaps more should have been spent during the remodel to improve sound insulation – I will avoid this hotel until this issue has been resolved. I recently stayed in the DoubleTree by Hilton in Decatur, AL for a few days. The whole place was recently remodeled, and has a «new» feel to it. The king-size bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom had a walk-in tiled shower(but no tub if you should need one). It even had hot water and decent water pressure. Our room overlooked the Tennessee River and had a nice view. The breakfast buffet was quite good, convenient and reasonably-priced. My only complaint is something I doubt the hotel can do anything about, and that is the noise from trucks slowing down using engine breaks when coming over the nearby bridge at all hours(like 2:00 and 3:00 am).
