I am now on my 5th year at DHA. I attend several yoga classes, have massages by several practitioners, Acupuncture and Chiropractic sessions. The Staff and practitioners are excellent and this studio has changed my life. I am on a spiritual path to better health and less stress because of the wonderful people and services offered at DHA.

I have attended two combined CranioSacral therapy/massage sessions with Michael and am feeling better than ever. I had been experiencing chronic fatigue and dizziness, and already, my energy level is up and I’m feeling like myself again. After each session, I leave feeling more energized and whole. I would highly recommend CranioSacral therapy to anyone; it has helped me connect to the wisdom and energy of my body and release any trapped negative energy. I cannot wait to go back!

I have been attending workshops and receiving treatments(massage, reflexology, crystal bowl healing, massage, craniosacral work) at DHA for a year now. The friendly, holistic and calming atmosphere creates a haven of peace in my life. There are yoga, tai chi and many fine classes. I am grateful that Amy Skully’s yoga class at noon on Monday and Friday is only $ 5.00, and she is a great teacher. I have recommended practitioners to my friends and family and all were pleased. Recommend.

I have had numerous massages at DHA and they have all been outstanding. However, one of their employees was just extremely rude to me. I attended an open house with my dog. I asked at the desk and inquired to other employees if my dog was allowed. Everyone said yes. Then someone came up to me and very rudely kicked me out. I don’t mind being told I can’t come in with a dog, especially since food was being served(albeit in another part of the facility). That is why I asked repeatedly. But the way in which this woman handled it(she really embarrassed me) was so bad karma, I will never, ever step foot in their facility again. It goes against everything DHA stands for and in my eyes they are a fraud. It’s sad, because I had come back to inquire about future services.(And, the kicker to all this. my dog is a service dog, although she was not on duty at the time.)

DHA is a fantastic way to explore the realm of energetic healing and a variety of modalities, as many practitioners offer very reasonable introductory rates for services and workshops. I’ve done the Singing Crystal Bowls with Daniel Bastacky twice and would highly recommend it as relaxing, transcendent and cleansing. I was amazed at the specifics that Ellen Mathys gave me in a psychic reading session. Very helpful and intuitive feedback. I decided to take her Intuitive workshop next weekend! I met Bernette Sherman, who was stunning and had a wonderful presence, and I am going to do some online work with her. It can get a bit crowded and patience may be required during the first-come, first served sessions. I would recommend arriving at the beginning of the time range. Namaste, y’all~

If you are ever considering acupuncture I highly suggest Dr. Li at Decatur Healing Arts. She is not only very credible and knowledgeable in her field, but she is so gentle and calming. As you could imagine I was pretty nervous about getting stuck with a lot of needles, but it was amazing. I have never felt so relaxed and calm in my life.

Interested in Qi Gong classes? Stacy teaches a beginner class at 10:30AM on Saturdays. My first experience was amazing. I’ll definitely be back for more.

Largely unimpressed with DHA’s massage services. I came in with a Groupon for an hour massage and my therapist was a half hour late. He and the owner then suggested that I come back and pay for another hour, and would then be given a half hour free. I really didn’t want to get upset that day, so I didn’t argue with their half-hearted attempt to salvage the situation. When I came back for my second massage, there was a NIA class going on for the full 90 minutes next door. There was jungle music playing, and a fine accompaniment of monkey screeching, reverberating Unilocal and whistles. Needless to say, this was very UN-relaxing. I asked my therapist if he could do anything about it, and his answer was basically«No,» On top of all this, my therapist was sub-par and, though he tried to address some of my joint/muscle concerns, he didn’t make any sense(it certainly sounded like pseudo-science to me, a personal trainer). I won’t be going back. I’ve considered returning to make fun of the NIA class participants, however.

A friend of mine gave me a gift certificate to DHA for a massage for my birthday back in February. I had also gotten one at Natural Body in Decatur which I used first, and had the experience with a therapist I now refer to as the«bone crusher.» So I timidly approached my massage with Pam. She does a lot of massage with athletes, which I am not, but at the time I was actively nursing(not a baby, I’m an RN) and carrying all my stress in my shoulders. It was really intense. So I had an hour massage and although I was scared from my last experience I went in trying to be positive. Pam first briefly interviewed me about my past experiences and my expectations. She then did a full body Swedish type massage and I swear it was the best massage I have ever had. She was able to tell if something was hurting and would ask, she kept the communication open and easy, and most importantly she really listened both with her ears and with her hands. I can’t say enough good things about her. She has over 15 years of experience and it totally shows. I will never go anywhere else for a massage. I will warn you, the studio is run kinda loosely. It’s a little hippie shop, and if you go in and they are having class, you may have to wait it out until class ends before someone will help you. Pam shows up just for her appointments, so just dropping in to make an appointment is not the way to go. Call first– you will likely have to leave a message. But they will call you back. Just a word of warning. It’s very worth it, though. And they are so much better(and more affordable) than the chain places.
