Jazzy Ribz

I love ribs. I was really looking forward to going here, and, while not quite disappointed, I wasn’t satisfied either.
The ribs are fine, meaty and a good texture, but clearly boiled then finished on a grill. No smoky flavor penetrating into the meat. They have several sauces, all of which were good. The sides were excellent.
The service was very good. It’s clearly a family operation, and they were helpful, and answered all our questions.
I think this place is pretty new, and hopefully they will sort things out with experience.

Learned of this restaurant from a social coupon offer. We lived in the south for a few years and are on the lookout for barbeque akin to what could be found in southern GA, so we were excited to try this place. It was awkward. We walked in and there was no indicator of the norm for ordering, at the table or at the counter. The fellow said to sit anywhere and then timidly took our order. I asked if we were supposed to order at the counter and he mumbled that he could do it. He was not intentionally being rude, but very awkward in dealing with people. There was another youngish teen girl that was also assisting, but never fully cleared the rib bones and scraps from the table next to us. The food came, but with missing elements. I did not get bread, my wife was never offered the second side dish, and our children did not get the pickles. We looked the menu up in the local phone book and were a bit enticed by the prices, but the menu prices were increased in our visit… with marker where you could see the underlying prices to see how much the price had raised. They were also out of one of there sauces and soda. My wife and I wondered if this may be due to a social coupon rush (another restaurant we went to had this issue), but the worker was not that interested in conversation when I inquired about it. I will say that the baby back ribs were good and the kids’ chicken strips were plentiful. This may be the problem with social coupon deals, that potential customers get enticed in, but have a negative experience due to the establishment’s inability to keep up with the increased business… at least this is my guess. This is why I am giving this place the benefit of the doubt and may give it one more try. Decent food, but need a service overhaul… just be a bit more congenial and assertive.
