Best sushi in volusia county. This place is amazing and the prices reflect the quality but it’s worth it.

great sushi! The only issue we had was that their service was slow. Granted it was Valentine’s Day and it was extremely packed. It still took 15 minutes to come take our drink order. But the food was amazing. We started with the krab Rangoon and it came with a spicy raspberry sauce which was good. The pastry had a nice cream cheese to scallion ratio and the pastry itself was nice and flakey. Then we tried three different rolls. The Kobe, rising sun, and ronin armor. The Kobe was a little dry for my taste but the other two were wonderful. In the end the food was so good it made me forget all about our long wait. A definite repeat spot!

I WILLNEVERGOBACK!!! Waitress and«Manager» very rude. Insisted on Driver license or passport for an ID because they just had a «class» and know everything. MILITARYID and a Concealed Carry permit was not good enough. Yes, a Government issued MILITARYID is not good enough to have a drink at a bar… so sad.

Visiting Daytona for biz. Wanted some sushi as it is a little scarce in the NM desert. The wine list by the glass is little thin, but gave the Acrobat Pino Noir a try. I would avoid it. The cheaper Cab was better. I had the naked, red tail and the rainbow. It sounds a little naughty when I write it out! But they were all great. Fresh fish and clean prep. I think I held the mayo on the ones that called it out on the preparation. Just a preference.

fresh fish. The problem with this place is that they are not Japanese. they do try to get the best fish but its not enough, anyone who knows sushi and Japanese food will attest that the quality of fish is good but the selection of dishes, the presentation, the feel is just not it. The food is good because the fish is fresh. It is currently the best restaurant in Daytona beach simply because the fish is fresh and they are anal about it, other than that it simply doesn’t cut it due to lack of skills in Japanese cuisine and style. If you come for the sushi rolls then it is subpar and as I said simply doesn’t cut it. Average at best. atmosphere is of a bar… if you like eating in peace it is definitely not the place for you, the feeling is as if you entered a club. 3 out of 5 stars.

So we go with a party of seven including a 4 year old and they seat us at a table fit for 4. We were crammed and they even sat one of us with a barstool while others at regular sized chairs. The hostess laughed about this and that was all that was said from them about our cramped situation. We managed as it was our friend’s birthday and didn’t want to upset her more by being negative. As seats became available we grabbed our own because they thought nothing of us. The owner even went to the table next to us and asked how they were and bought them a round of drinks. We asked for a manager and she came over to offer us a round of drinks and we said no thank you because a few of us pregnant including birthday girl. The manager proceeded to bring over alcoholic sake. The sushi was hard and they still charged for it until we asked they take it off bill. It was the worst experience and we should have went to Café Du Jupon as we are always treated like royalty with a great atmosphere.

This review is from Jan 2015, things might have changed. Decent food with a pretty posh and alluring décor. The sushi was well made and it tasted pretty good, but definitely not worth the price. I guess the prices are for the expensive decorations. Our server was rude and was pushy for us to order desert when we were full with our meal. P. s. green tea tasted blend, but again, that’s a server’s error, no grudge against the chef

Great sushi, fresh fish. Management staff was great help as well on a busy night. A must stop for me each trip to Daytona

The food was okay, I really expected something amazing considering that I’m by the coast, but it had nothing on the sushi I’ve had in Minnesota oddly enough?! Our server we had was more concerned with her friends that were there eating. It was busy but not to the point of negligence that we received from our waiter. It took over 30 minutes just to get refills after asking. The total trip took 2.5 hours and was not worth it.

First time here and likely our last. The sushi itself was actually not bad(hence the 2 stars). But the entire place smells musty, damp and like mildew. I realize this is FL and it’s hot but this was overwhelming. The air conditioning system(condenser and evaporator especially) likely needs to be cleaned and sanitized. I guess everyone there is used the smell. It’s bad.

We have been here twice now. The sushi is great and the menu is nice and easy to read. The only drawback is they are sloooowwwwwww. Like… 3 hour dinner when we were kinda in a hurry slow. All of the servers seem to be more concerned about how they look in their saucy clothes than taking care of their tables. The sushi is worth the wait as long as you have the patience.

I am moving to Tennessee this week and the saddest part of that is I won’t get to come here anymore. This is by far the best sushi place I’ve ever been to. My boyfriend and I always start our dinner here the same way, I get the pomegranate sake-tini(comes in a beautiful glass!) I looove sweet and sugary drinks and this is my favorite. Edamame with eel sauce, allllways amazing and if you haven’t tried that combo — do it! I get the Grand Isle roll every time with spicy mayo(we come so often the waitress bring these things out before we ask for more lol) and it’s the most amazing roll I’ve ever had. Although it’s a little different than the normal roll, as it’s stuffed with lots of various kinds of fish(white fish, salmon. I believe) asparagus, and then the entire roll is fried: D if you have a friend who isn’t the biggest fan of raw fish, they will realllllly like this dish!

This place is absolutely amazing I love this place. Every time I have eaten here the service was outstanding. This time I tried the Mango roll it was outstanding. My waitress Magen was very helpful and made recommendations. She recommended for me to try the Naked Skin roll next time I visit which means I will have to come back one more time before I leave the area. She also took the time to explain what Mochi was. I’m so glad she did because I love them I hadn’t had them since I was in Korea. I wish I could take this restaurant back home with me. I would eat here all the time

I was really hoping for this restaurant to be good however it disappointed me. I know it was busy but wow the food took a really long time. And that wasn’t even the worst part. I had the jasmine rice with shrimp stir fry. The jasmine rice was cold and undercooked it was terrible. The shrimp stir fry tasted ok. The sushi looked like it was made by an amateur It was falling apart…

A solid sushi restaurant. My go-to sushi starts are a glass of plum wine and seaweed salad; the wine was smooth and I got the sunomono, a fun salad with seaweed and sashimi. The sweat potato roll and sea monster roll were great, but I wouldn’t recommend them together(too much sweater flavor). My only complaint would be the waitresses loudly socializing behind the bar about everything from the restaurant’s hair policy to how feeling cold could mean an infection(or that you just need a jacket). This is what I get for showing up as they open. Long story short, I would definitely use Ronin for my sushi fix in Daytona.

This place came from a recommendation from a local Mr. V spoke to in the Orlando airport. Who am I to turn down a recommendation and sushi? Well, I am incredibly glad I didn’t. This place was terrific. The sushi was expansive(love myself some conch), the sake variety intense, and the atmosphere romantic and fun. It was our Friday night date night, so we saved it for the last night in Daytona. I ordered almost all sashimi — conch tataki, spicy tuna handroll, toro, kanpachi, uni, and ikura. Each one had a burst of flavor, nothing felt muddy or old. The seaweed was warm with the handroll, and the rice had a nice sticky quality to it. I really liked this place, and had they had one in my neighborhood, I’d frequent.

I very much enjoyed the atmosphere, the art, and the fb pics make me so hungry! My wife and I opened with a bottle of Blue sake which we loved but we prefer hot sake with sashimi so we also ordered a full carafe of house hot sake. We had the following rolls and pieces: The Brian Tatami — Yellow with lemon, jalapeño and ponzu Hawaii — spicy tuna, cucumber, scallion topped with tuna, escolar, salmon, scallion, massago, and avocado Naked skin — salmon, tuna, escolar, cream cheese, krab wrapped in cucumber skin Kobe Roll — crunch, Krab, spicy mayo topped with Kobe beef, avocado, truffle oil, and eel sauce The Kobe roll was my favorite followed by Tatami. I can hardly wait to come back.

As you know while in town for any type of major event it’s difficult to find places to eat without a huge wait or without fried bar food. This spot was a great find thanks to great reviews online. They offer a large selection of sushi as well as a regular menu. Needless to say you should be able to find something delicious. The staff here was extremely friendly and efficient. The atmosphere here was really nice and the restaurant/bathrooms were very clean. As far as food went we both ordered the Soup with Fried Pork dumplings, it was delicious! We also ordered sushi; Spicy Tuna Roll, The Kentucky Roll & Tampa Roll. Everything tasted great and fresh. We recommend checking out Ronin during your next trip to Daytona! Enjoy!

I love that they had simple sushi options starting at the $ 6 range then going up to the more complicated ones at about $ 12. The«chef special» roll that I had was a delicious blend of salmon, mango, avocado, cream cheese and passion fruit drizzle! This was, however, the only menu option that was adventurous enough to intrigue me, so Ronin, keep it on the menu and add more like it! Don’t get me wrong, they’re is a lot to code from. I just have a deep love for tropical fruits in my sushi. The shareable dynamite chicken was outstanding and perfect as an appetizer for two people. Let’s face it, the real reason everyone should be here is the fried ice cream. I could NEVER eat the whole thing alone. I go here just for it –at $ 6 it’s a steal compared to the $ 12 it would cost in the town where I live. Dress anywhere from casual/nice to nice/nice. Even so, it’s a nice laid-back atmosphere with good service.
