Yeah to the manager at Dicks in Daytona for returning my running shoes after I took them around the block and they hurt my feet. I bought another pair plus some workout pants and I will continue to buy my shoes there! Finally a store that still cares about the consumer. Wish I could say the same for the Dillard’s in Daytona!

«Gone Fishing» Down the street from the airport and speedway, I stopped in Sunday to buy some fishing gear. I was politely approached 3 or 4 times by associates wondering if I needed help but I politely declined. I spent nearly two hours examining rods and reels before selecting two poles and two reels. I also picked up a small tackle box, pliers, scissors, knife, aluminum spike, bobbers and ready-made rigs. Total for everything was 189 bucks. The set-up is typical for Dick’s and is conveniently located near I-95.

Big sporting goods store with a lot of selection. I find them a bit pricy for some things so keep a look out for the specials(boat this weekend). Nice plaza to walk around in as well.

I bought into the hype surrounding Dick’s in Daytona, and was spectacularly disappointed. I went in to purchase a US soccer jersey in a women’s medium, and I wasn’t greeted by a single staff member. Trying to find someone to assist me was not only annoying but frustrating. When I went to the check out counter to seek assistance, the gentleman who looked like a manager seemed annoyed that I arrived empty handed. Upon inquiring about the availability of the USMNT World Cup shirts, he flatly said, «what we have on the floor is all we have.» There was absolutely no effort to call to the back or verify the inventory. Even though the Dick’s website noted the item was in stock, there was no offer to contact another store in their system to see if they had one in my size on hand. Nothing. I picked up one of the ladies’ jerseys closest to my own size and went to the dressing room. When a place wants $ 90 +tax for an item, but can’t be bothered to do their jobs, I’d sooner return the item to its place and walk out which is precisely what I did. I rang the button for assistance in the women’s fitting room and a lovely female associate dropped by to check on me. She was quick, polite, and helpful, but my shopping experience was already soiled by the sourness of the other gentleman. Had I not rang the assistance button, my patronage would have gone unnoticed, and by the reaction of the majority of the staff, that didn’t seem to bother them in the least. I’ve had great experiences at other DSGs, so this bummed me out a bit.

This was a much needed addition to the Daytona shopping scene there is really not much you can compare it too in the area. The store is filled with almost anything related to sports from shoes, clothing, camping and golf and a little bit of everything in between. Sign up for their Score Card Rewards Program and they will fill your mail with offers weekly. The stores seems to be staffed with friendly employees who go the extra mile to ensure you find what you need and are all ways willing to order what they may not have in stock with free shipping. Plenty of parking and easy access off of ISB this location is always organized as are most of their locations. They also have a great website that offers more of the same.

Everything sports related has been gathered under one roof(and you don’t have to go to Orlando)! Looking for something pertaining to fishing? Golf? Guns? Well, they have it all here(at a premium price). The shoe department would make any woman jealous with the wide variety of different styles and brands. The customer service is very friendly and personable — overall, I was very happy with the service and the selection of merchandise.
