We only ordered drinks and their awesome pub fries but we are looking forward to our return visit. The service was amazing; our waiter checked on us often and our drinks were never empty. The fries were good and they have a pretty large menu with plenty of variety. The night we went was trivia night which was pretty fun. Highly recommend!

Not very impressed. Food tasted bland. Definitely not fresh food. Very disappointed. Had the blarney stones and the braised short ribs. Blarney stones were cold inside and the braised beef was chewy and fatty. Service was good. But food not so much. And drinks were very weak. Not impressed

Try the right the Ruck and the cheese fries! Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Love love love it here!

Stopped in had the Ruck sandwich, which is a BBQ brisket with cheddar cheese & sauteed onions. The proportion was definitely out of whack. You get more greasy bun than the amount of meat on the bun. The meat was tender but way over dressed, drenched in BBQ sauce. The fries were good and there was an adequate amount, but I noticed that others who order the homemade chips got a full plate. For the money, it is not a good value, but tasty. Order again? No. The Dublin Pub is a typical irish pub. It does not have anything special about it. That is, if you’ve been to one you’ve been to this one, too. Perhaps, the other food was more outstanding. Caio.

By far one of my favorite and Go-to spots in Dayton. Staff is friendly and quick. The food is phenomenal, I always recommend for your first time going to try«The Ruck.» It’s a little messy of a sandwich but the flavor it totally worth it. Also the fluffy crisps they serve with their spinach beer dip are amazing and extremely addicting. I take all my out of town guests here for dinner and it never disappoints. If you’re not into the pub scene this probably isn’t for you on a Friday or Saturday night, they usually have talent play and sometimes charge a cover. But all the times I’ve gone the bands are fun and entertaining. Usually with a little Irish flare.

I had Shepherd’s Pie — lots of peas, corn, carrots etc. hardly, if any potatoes, Italian bread crumbs and spices with cheese, a little bit of ground beef. Not much authentic Irish here. Other people with me enjoyed their Reuben and Roast Beef dishes. Good beer selection. Service was OK. IMHO not very authentic Irish food.

By far the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. Food was hot and fresh and service was quick. Nice ambiance. Definitely would go back!

I came here a couple of times as a starting point for my nights in Dayton. The place is allright, nice people, good selection of both APA and IPA beers and also wiskeys are good(but I’m definitely not an expert). Both the time I could see Irish bands live shows and I’ve kinda enjoy that. Finally, I’d like to try the food navies it seems tasteful. I’m actually pretty curious about the Sunday morning brunch.

I’m going to apologize in advance for this review, because it’s going to come down as a bit harsh toward O’Conners Pub, which Jules and I visited last weekend. But, earlier tonight, when Jules mentioned that she needed to pick up a bridesmaid’s dress from a seamstress in the Oregon District, I found myself in the rare spot of being able to try out one of Dayton’s mainstays and indulge my unfulfilled longing for some British/Irish-style fare. Simply put, Dublin Pub is what I look for when I want an Irish pub in the states. Is it totally authentic? No, nothing outside of the UK and Ireland really is. But as for recreating that in the States? It’s exactly what I want – a great selection on tap, a dark, inviting atmosphere, and a menu that tries to do justice to British/Irish pub fare. I harped on O’Conners Pub not too long ago for their lack of any sort of Irish/British food on the menu. Not so at Dublin Pub. Featured prominently on the menu were a bevy of UK favorites: shepherd’s pie, beef stew, bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, and more. Fantastic. Jules settled on the shepherd’s pie, while I indulged in the beef stew. In both cases, the food was fantastic. Her shepherd’s pie was delightfully browned on top with a well-seasoned meat and veggie filling. My stew was tender and toothsome, with a fantastic flavor. If I had one complaint, it’s that the celery in the stew wasn’t quite done enough – it was still a bit crunchy, and obviously hadn’t been in the stewing liquid as long as the other vegetables, which were delightfully soft and beefy. Oh, and the rolls! Rarely do I gush about a restaurant’s rolls, but these were phenomenal. Served piping hot, these rolls had whole cloves of roasted garlic inside them! Oh, man… so good! Swabbed through the savory beef gravy, I can think of few better accompaniments for dinner. Make sure you get yours, with whatever entrée you choose. While I don’t know when we’ll make it to Dublin Pub again – I’m not a fan of big crowds, so we’ll likely never spend St. Patrick’s Day there – I know that for a great weeknight dinner, the Dublin Pub has some phenomenal British/Irish fare. They’re one of those rare Dayton ‘institutions’ that really does live up to the hype.

Good place, good food. Just politics I don’t agree with so I haven’t been there in a while.

Great ambiance, service, and food. The menu reflected more traditional food. There is a lot of space in this place. It has a homey feel. Just look at the food. It looks beautiful. It tasted good but not necessarily anything to write home about. I bet it’s a wonderful place on the weekend and then walk through historic downtown with a date.

St. Party’s is off the hook here. There is absolutely no reason to go anywhere else in Dayton, but the Pub. Cool environment, courteous staff, decent pub menu, good drinks. Great for a night out drinking with friends, or a lunch/dinner date.

This place is nice because it has a patio for a nice afternoon. The Guinness pours are usually good and they draw a decent crowd. When it comes to food, it’s okay and reminds of typical pub food. I think I’ll just stick to the beer next time.

The Dublin Pub is one of Dayton’s best #Local bars/restaurants. They have excellent food, a great beer selection, a cigar patio with a fire pit, and just great atmosphere all around.

It’s hoakey as all get out, but I like these bad interpretations of pubs from across the pond. They’re fun sometimes for not being authentic. kinda like people who think Disney World’s EPCOT is a real cultural experience. We stopped by on a cold and rainy mid afternoon on Saturday and the place still had quite a few patrons, but were not busy by any means. It’s pretty amazing how much patio space this place has. It’d be interesting to see this joint on a Friday evening in Summer. The menu mostly consisted of a lot of things that really are not very good for you. like that extra cheesy, greasy, and meaty stuff. I can’t remember which burger I chose. It had fried pickles, some salted pork, and fried onion straws on top of it. Pretty delicious. even though they totally cooked my burger Well done when I requested medium. Oh well. The recommendation of this place are of all things, the cheese fries. The server said something about them winning some sort of Dayton’s Best award, so when in Rome. get the cheese fries. They really weren’t too bad. Nothing refined taste buds would give a damn about, but for a good greasy-caution-to-the-wind type of hunger, then it was actually quite good. So, YES, I will recommend the cheese fries. Plus star for Strongbow on Draught. That made me SO very happy. The wait for the food was really the only dull spot of our visit. It took a little bit to get our food. I’m thankful I was meeting a friend and had plenty to catch up on, but if you’re here and in some ‘hangry’ mood then… it might not be a good idea. The strange part is that the table that came in minutes after we did received their food before we did, and ordered pretty close to what we had, so that was a little mind bending, but again. Oh Well. Dessert looked pretty run of the mill as to what fake pubs would serve. The cake sounded worth a try. The husband scarfed down the half burger from my leftovers when I got home, so perhaps I’ll be back again to give the cake a try.

A cool Irish pub tucked away at the edge of the Oregon District. I have come here a few times with a group for food and drinks, and have yet to be disappointed. The menu boasts a couple«Best in Dayton» tags so we obviously had to try some of these out. One of the standouts was the Cheese Fries. The have a white wine sauce poured over a big plate of fries topped with melted cheese and bacon. Upon recommendation a handful of people in the group tried The Ruck sandwich and all said it was pretty awesome. The bar here is also well stocked. They have a nice selection of beer and liquor and it seems to be well priced. They even have a few tables with taps on them, including a Jameson tap. Lucky for my wallet I was not seated there. The staff all seemed very nice and, aside from one time, our service was solid. This pub has a great ambiance and I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for good drinks and pub food!

Something keeps bringing me back to the Dublin Pub. I must say, they have quite the extensive menu. I really enjoy all of their pub-style sandwiches and their fries have to be some of the best in town. They have a plethora of drink options and support local — great selections. Recently they’ve completed quite the addition. This new area features a full bar, self-serve taps, a stage, optimal seating, outdoor patio(on first and second floor), etc. The detail is pretty impressive. Check this place out!

This place is awesome. We were here for drinks and it was great! we sat at a table where you could serve yourself select beers from the taps at the table. That was pretty crazy. other drinks came from the bar and the service was spot on. Didn’t really get food. Was also pretty good live entertainment the evening we were there.

People seem to like this place but I thought it was very«meh». I couldn’t decide between the beef or regular(chicken) Boxty. The waiter said they were both delicious but the beef was probably the best thing on the menu… so I got the beef. I hope mine was prepared poorly because if that was the best thing on the menu, they are in trouble. It’s basically a hash-brown loaf, with some pulled stewed beef on top with some veggies and cheese on top of that. The veggies mainly consisted of carrots and celery. I expected those guys to be a little soft but they were crunchy as hell and seemed to be thrown on as an afterthought when the rest was done baking. Raw carrots and especially celery are definitely not delicious on this. Yuck.

Was sent here for the Dublin Pub Cheese Fries. That’s all I ordered(outside of 2 pints) and I was not disappointed. First off, let me say I am not a fan of steak fries. McDonalds are the perfect size, nice and crispy. However, what these guys do to a potato is pretty good. Although the fries are big like steak fries, they are cut thin and crispy as can be. Mound on top of them cheese, bacon, and some mystical white wine sauce and you got a dish that is outstanding. The cheese is real, as is the bacon. Matter in fact, there were half slices of bacon in the mix! Place would have been perfect if not for the loud mouth sitting next to me at the bar that never shut up. The only thing bigger than his mouth was his arrogance!!!

The service was excellent and the recommendations from the staff appreciated. The food was tasty. We enjoyed our time outside on a nicly decorated deck.
