Square One Salon & Spa

This salon is everything. Beautiful space, friendly staff and luxurious products and treatments. Bradley was an amazing massage therapist and Eric gave me a fantastic facial.

Since there is no review space for the Centerville store, I guess this will have to do. Every penny spent at Square One is worth it! The stylists are talented and creative. They are patient and the mini-​facial is such a nice touch. I’ve seen Whitney and Adam and they are both fabulous!

I loved my experience at Square One on Brown St. All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere of the salon was tranquil and refreshing. I received a haircut from Briana, she’s an amazing stylist and very detail-​oriented. I love my new hair!
The appointment begins with a scalp massage. Then, after your hair is washed, as your conditioner is sinking in, you receive a «mini facial» where they cleanse and tone your skin, then wrap your face in a hot towel. It felt amazing! I left feeling very pampered, my expectations were far exceeded. This is definitely my new favorite salon, I can’t wait to go back!

Staff is real sweet when they greet you first thing and I always have a great service from many of the stylist

I’ve been here for multiple services– hair, massage, manicure. I love the atmosphere, very relaxing. The stylists are young and fashionable and I trust their judgement. It is a bit pricy, but I can justify the cost because this is really the only thing I splurge on.

This place is amazing! Just had my hair cut and colored and Betsi did a great job. She was thorough and patient. I hadn’t had my hair cut in over a year and hadn’t had my hair dyed in over five years. Betsi was able to suggest a color and length that worked out perfectly. I swear every day it looks better and better. I highly recommend you get you hair done here!

I literally cannot say enough good things about this place! Best in town! I’ve been going to Square One for my hair and waxes for three years now and would recommend it to anyone looking. Canaan and Eric are amazing! The management have done an incredible job recruiting the best in their fields!

For being so expensive, I wouldn’t expect them to BUTCHER my mother’s hair. Extremely disappointing. Only «good“thing about the visit was that she didn’t pay for it.

This is the best salon experience I’ve ever had. Before My appointment, I was offered some warm tea and shown around the salon. I came in wanting to dye my hair black. I had Cannan, at least I’m pretty sure that was her name, and she asked me extensive questions to make sure she got it right. She was absolutely amazing in her talent and her personality. I have naturally curly hair so when I get my hair done I usually have them straighten it, but end up re-​straightening it when I get home because I don’t like how they did it. Not with her, she styled my hair exactly how I do. Plus she gave me a free mini facial during my shampoo! She was very tentative while I processed, making sure I was comfortable and had tea or water.
I also got the best gel French manicure ever by Tim. The white lines are perfectly straight and the right length. He did an amazing job and was a pleasure to spend time with. I highly recommend this place to anyone! I absolutely love it.

The atmosphere in the salon is inviting and relaxed. This was my first visit and I was immediately offered coffee, tea, or water when I walked in. I had my eyebrows done by Kristie and she was fantastic! She even stopped half way through my appointment to check and see if it was the shape I wanted. Definitely the most professional and courteous experience I’ve had with an esthetician. The rest of the staff was very friendly as well! I’ll definitely be back!

Great salon. I’ve been going here to get waxed for about 3 months now and the customer service truly is great-​every time. They offer you beverages when you arrive and the waiting area is very tranquil. I’ve never had to wait long either. I usually book my appointments in the morning and haven’t had any issues with parking so far. I see Eric for my waxes because he was mentioned by another reviewer and she did not steer me wrong! He’s very good and I’m very comfortable with him waxing me. He’s quick and it’s not too painful. This salon is more expensive than the chain I used to go to, but the waxes last longer! I don’t know why that is, but I’ll take it. So far, waxes (brazilian, underarm and lower leg) are the only services I’ve received here. I also like that if you don’t mind paying upfront, you can go online and book your own appointments.

Saturday I had an appointment… I’ve been going here about nine months and had to go to a new stylist, my normal two were booked, She was sweet and nice… My hair didn’t turn out good had to tell her that i didn’t like it. They brought a new stylist to re straighten my hair… They didn’t make me pay and offered me a complimentary day to come back during the week…
Everyone is ALWAYS so nice

I went to this salon with the following expectations:
1-​proper hair cut
2-​decent hair coloring
3-​professionalism
I have long hair with ombré. It’s straight. I went for a basic trim-​nothing complicated. They managed to mess that up with choppy bangs and didn’t trim evenly.
I came in with ombré hair color. If you’re not familiar, it’s when you have dark roots and your hair has beautiful fading to light colors in the light towards various strands and ends.
I went at 1:30 pm-8:30 pm. Yes I was there for 7 hours! I ended up walking out of there looking like a leopard. Little did I know choosing a director level stylist didn’t help.
I went again today to give them a chance to fix my hair. It was impossible to speak to Nina-​the manager. All she cares about is product, profit, and filming up slits. I managed to get myself in. I was there for an additional 2 hours to try and rectify the damage they did.
They colored me into stripes-​this time… The highlights are like small chalk on top of my head.
The blonde is horrific and the roots are worst.
After a total of 10 hours of this mess, they actually charged me 200+ dollars for it. I refused to pay but tipped $ 50 to the colorist-​who didn’t do what I asked-​but I was raised to walk away from bad service with class and dignity.
But I and my friends will never go there again and hope you think twice.
There was no respect for my time, my hair, my requests, their poor skills. They are a waste of money. A less expensive salon could have done much better.
This was my 4^th poor experience with them and I’m not a picky stylist. I’m easy to please, bold in my style, and can go with the flow.
They epically messed up to get me to leave a review.
A conservative professional should not try to go.

I loved everything about this salon. The people, atmosphere and product. I just moved to the area and had the same girl doing my hair for 15 years so it was a bit of a shock going to someone new. My expectations were met. Leslie is the girl who did an absolutely fantastic job on me and everyone there is so friendly and accommodating.

I have been coming to this salon for my waxing services for about a year now. Every time I have been in, i schedule an appointment with Eric. He does my Brazilian wax in 10 minutes. EVERY. TIME. it is as pain free as a Brazilian can be, and he never pressures me into buying any products. He is simply the best waxer I have ever encountered, and he always makes me feel completely at ease. I would highly recommend Eric to anyone!!!

This salon really was a waste of time for me. So I just moved to Dayton from Chicago and had heard this was one of the best salons in Dayton. Naturally, I had to check it out. I came in about two weeks ago to have my hair dyed grey by a sweet girl named Beth. They didn’t already have the color so she had to go out and get it herself, which was fine. But I can’t help to think why wouldn’t they have grey hair color? It’s a hair salon. Anyway, I wanted my new hair to be super unique and edgy, which is why I decided to go to a «trendier» hair salon.
She totally played it safe with my hair. I think she was unsure from the very beginning. I’m not sure if she even knew how to respond to my request (I admit, I can be difficult at times). She did grey highlights that were super ashy and they ended up basically blending in with my brown hair. I was there a little over 2 hours and there was BARELY a difference. I could tell she wanted to play it safe because she didn’t want it to look bad. However, it was too safe and boring for me. I get that this is Dayton Ohio but if I go to a salon that markets themselves as a trendy or chic place, I expect them to know the trends and be somewhat of risk-​takers. This place was so basic. I just want to have a stylist who is enthusiastic about what they do and wants to talk with me about the trends! why is that so hard to ask for around here?
The price was not worth it. Total let-​down. $ 80 for grey highlights that blended in with my hair (it would have been $ 120 for all over). AND get this… she never proceeded to tell me about up-​keep and how to keep it that way. So here I am… two weeks later and the grey has almost entirely faded into blonde. If I schedule another appointment that’ll be another $ 80…ridiculous!
Anyway, it was a waste of time and money. I regret ever going in the first place. But if you’re a middle aged suburban mom then go for it! That’s definitely the clientele.

I love this salon. It is even better with the new renovations. You will always feel very welcome here and the service is excellent. The mini facials with each hair wash are a nice touch. Also, with the renovations the space for mani-​pedis is much nicer. I have never not gotten a perfect haircut here and recently starting coloring my hair with flawless results. In the past I have had to go to other places for a quick cut as I have crazy work schedule, then I go to square one to get other stylists half baked cuts cleaned up– it’s always worth the time it takes to get in, which can take a couple weeks with the more popular stylists.

My haircut always looks very modern and fresh, the stylists are in touch with the trends and current «in» looks. My hair always looks great and very sleek when I walk out. If you change your mind mid-​haircut, the stylists are very understanding and make you look great.
Finally, the location is really cool. It’s downtown and really industrial looking. I definitely feel that I’ve stepped out of Dayton for a little bit when I’m there. This is definitely my go-​to salon and I will come back whenever I want to get a really pretty cut and feel pampered for a little bit.
