Picked up our wine club selections plus some! Great wine club events, wonderful wine and great food for the wine club! I love this place. I cut back on my wine club memberships this year but I kept this one.

Ducked in here looking for wine skins and wanting to try some wine. Door locked with sign that said«harvest. Call(and gave number) as we’d love to pour you some wine. As we walked away I saw someone coming our way. They unlocked the door and we went on in. He asked if we wanted some wine and I said yes but wanted some wine skins and he pointed me to them. Short story long bought two bottles of Pinot Gris and two of their ice wine. And two wine skins for the vodka from bend distillery. So I’m set with alcohol and gray memories and kind people from Dayton Oregon! Pinot Gris is amazing!

Seufert is definitely must try!!! They are an amazing winery with amazing and friendly service as well as one of the top independent Pinot noir makers in the Oregon area. Their Pinot Noir has a distinctive flavor that even after a full day of tasting my husband and I still came back and bought a few bottles. Really incredible. Make sure you drop in here before you go anywhere else. You will come back to them for sure!

Paula was amazingly friendly for our group of 5 women. The wines are good quality. Do the food and wine pairing if you have the time. Though small and unassuming, it is well worth the stop!

I liked the place. Very small tasting room but very nice staff. We liked their wines especially for the price. The biggest thing they have is the wine club. When you average out the price per bottle they are cheaper than Naked and just as good if not better. They were bottling when we were there so a little noisy but cool to watch.

What a great find! Great tasting wines, extremely pleasant server and we loved that we were able to sit back and relax in their tasting room and enjoy a picnic of snacks while we were tasting. Everyone in my group of 8 purchased 1 – 3 bottles. I think it was not just because of how the wine tasted, but how welcomed we felt too.

Having been impressed with Seufert’s Pinot Noirs at the 2012 Bite of Oregon where they won a Best Of Show, we visited this intimatel, family run winery in Dayton over Thanksgiving weekend. We liked it so much we returned this weekend when my sister visited from Boston and even joined their wine club(the first we have joined in 7 years of visiting Willamette Valley wineries). Seufert’s Pinots are beautiful, elegant, and long finishing. Last night we brought a bottle of their ’09 Zenith to a tasting party with some very sophiticated palettes, more so than mine. It was an enthusiastic hit of the party. I think Seufert’s wines offer high value; they typically taste like they should cost more — even their budget Cuvee.

This was our last wine tasting stop in three days of Willamette Valley wine tasting. We had planned it to be so. Because while Seufert bottles several small lot options in Pinot Noir, and gets critical kudos on their Pinot as good value of quality at lower cost, they also bottle reds other than Pinot Noir. Those can be hard to find in the Willamette Valley and since we were doing the groundwork for an upcoming event with folks in tow who are red wine drinking centric but NOT Pinot Noir fans(imagine), we wanted to round out possible stops with winemakers making different reds. BOTTOMLINE We liked this funky little wine tasting room a lot! Located on the main street of woeful looking downtown Dayton, one walks in the tasting room to the wonderful aroma of wine aging in barrels. It’s been a long time since we’ve been in a Willamette Valley winery that actually greets the public in their barrel room. This is considerably funkier than the wineries we visited in the days prior, and it was fun to have the sense of independent wine making as it used to be in other wineries in both the Willamette and Napa valleys. That’s what moved us to saying«yay» and we’ll go back. WINES Wine maker Jim Seufert is a fourth generation Oregonian with family roots in the Willamette Valley. The focus of his boutique winery is on Pinot Noir($ 30 — $ 50 /bottle retail), with grapes sourced from different vineyards, but Seufert also make other wines. Including Pinot Gris and a blended white, cleverly named Woven White($ 16), about which we’d heard good things as well as a dessert wine called Bella(@$ 15 /375ml). In the realm of red, in addition to the ubiquitous Pinot Noir, Seufert also bottles an Italian varietal, Dolcetto($ 24), and a Columbia Valley Syrah($ 24?). A particular treat on this visit was that the tasting room host poured a new wine, referred to at this point as «secret project» or something like that. This wine is set to replace Bella, for which the last vintage was last year. Not yet bottled, the«secret project» sample poured was as yet unfiltered. Served just slightly chilled, it was an apple blossom pink, slightly sweet wine blended from Pinot Noir and a white varietal. To a man and woman, all seven of us in the tasting room said«aaaahhhh» as we sipped. My husband and I are looking forward to going back in a few weeks, when this is released, to buy this wine… and to finding out what they named it! TASTINGSETUP The tasting room host was an exuberant and entertaining guy who was knowledgeable about Seufert wines and he added to the warmth and fun of the tasting experience here. The tastes were a flight of mixed varietals, but heavy on the Pinot Noir bottlings on the day we visited. There were several guests in the little tasting room early on a Friday afternoon, some from California for whom this was a repeat visit to Seufert, and among us we encouraged the host to open a bottle of Dolcetto and Syrah so we could all taste before purchase. He was«outnumbered» and he was gracious about opening the sample bottles even though they weren’t included in the plan for the flight that day. We visited so many wineries over the course of three days that I took notes, but my notes here don’t reflect whether or not there was a tasting fee. If so, it was refunded with purchase because we walked out with charges for three bottles of wine we purchased and no extra fee for tasting. THIS N THAT 1) Accessibility: Level in from sidewalk, all on one floor, bathroom is also accessible. 2) Single Vineyard Pinot Flight with Food Pairing: Is available on Saturday(and maybe Sunday?) if you call ahead. 3) Culinary Items: Available for sale on a wall in the tasting room called«Culinary Corner» and include things produced from grapes like Ver Jus and specialty seasoned salt.

I love this little indie winery in my town. I bring all my Portland and east coast friends here when they visit because the pinot noir is great(multiple award winning) and it has a very friendly, authentic small Oregon winery ambience, and you usually meet the winemaker, Jim — definitely you do on the big wine tasting weekends. It’s not one of the fancy California money wineries(though i do like their views & wine), it’s a boutique winery in a small historic town in wine country just down the street a bit from Dayton’s town green, Courthouse Square Park. Try the Johan and the Vine Idyl, two of my current faves, and stock up on the reasonably priced and delicious Cuvee($ 20! for a great Oregon pinot! a bargain, especially with the wine club discount).

Cheers to Oregon Vino! We had the opportunity to taste Seufert wines at The Bite of Oregon over the weekend and couldn’t resist taking home a bottle of the Best Pinot and Best of Show«Johan Vineyard» Pinot Noir. This is an incredibly balanced wine with emphasis on the grape and low tannins. Highly recommend you find a bottle! We were so impressed we joined the wine club. After you taste, I’m sure you will be as well. This winery can hang with any in the Napa Valley.

Beautiful Pinots especially the 2007 Vista Hills. I was surprised by the facilities unremarkable exterior and interior. It’s not your typical winery experience and greatly lacks the ambiance that would help bring more visitors. Luckily I wasn’t there for the ambiance, just great wines!

These Pinots are high on the alcohol and pretty acidic, and not very«Pinot like» — maybe taste more like California Pinots. The Syrah: Flying Figurehead was drinkable and had a beautiful color but I’m not running out to buy more. The«Pinot-Licious» is really cheap $ 12 but it taste pretty cheap too(taste like the label looks). See my other many wine reviews!!!

Seufert Winery is one of Oregon’s Top Indie Pinot Noir winemakers! My friend and I decided we wanted to do a drive through the wine country and we landed upon Seufert Winery. Its such an unassumed facility that we almost missed it! Don’t let the industrial façade fool you, this place can match any Pinot Noir in the market! We walk inside the place and its not your typical château or Vineyard because it does not have one. The owner buys his grape from several high end growers/vineyards to give his clients/customers high value wines for a fraction of its cost! They have tours of their facility, including a view of their wine making process. Samples of their wines are available and they even have a wine club where they provide shipment twice a month at 20% off. The staff there are very attentive and knowledgable about their wine and their wine making process. I was really impressed by the attentativeness and their generous sample portions! I really love the fact that i can buy Pinot Noir wine that taste like its worth $$$, but at a very reasonable price. Since my friend and i bought so many the owner convinced us to buy a case at a great steal!
