Service was horrible this last time I went. My order was not complete. While picking up my food at the drive window I was asked to pull forward so the person behind me could get there food, so I did. I waited and the person behind me pulled off and I continued to wait another 10 minutes. I finally put it in reverse and pulled up to the window again and my order had been ready, they had forgot about me. Once I got home they had forgot two of my side orders. It’s not the first time they’ve forgotten and item or got the order wrong. I called and was on hold for 15 minutes and talked to 3 different people before finally somebody tried to make things right and offer me a discount for the next time I came. That’s definitely not going to happen. The food is alright sometimes but it’s a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s just done right, other times its burnt, and somethings you can’t be 100% sure if your going to get your order.

Let me start by saying that the broasted chicken here is absolutely phenomenal. It does take roughly 20 minutes to make the chicken, but if you call ahead you will be one happy son of a gun. On top of the food being phenomenal there is a woman there by the name of Kim who is the sweetest person ever. She is extremely customer service oriented! So Kim coupled with the wonderful food made for one heckuva good lunch today. I highly recommend you come here! Now I am going home to write a love song about that chicken!

I stopped in for the first time with friends from out of town that wanted bbq, how embarrassing. It was full so it seemed like a good choice. Sides were brought out first and although they were not hood, they ended up being the best part of the meal. My kids are picky so they all got hamburgers(in a bbq place? Cmon kids!) And they were all 4 burned so bad they couldn’t eat them. I got bbq chicken and it looked exactly like the chicken in a Hungry Man frozen TV Dinner, but didn’t taste nearly as good. Almost $ 50 for lunch and none of it edible. I would not even think about coming back.

Our experience pretty much what others have posted. Service was very, very slow. One order was completely wrong. The pulled pork sandwich and beef brisket sandwich were good but the sides were not. The green beans and baked beans tasted like they came directly out of a can — awful. I would think twice before going there again.

Was in Dayton for work and read the reviews for this place which seemed promising. The place reminds me of an old bar that was probably kind of stylish in the 70s. Although the service was good the food was just awful. Ordered fried oysters and you can tell they were frozen and flash fried and we’re still a little cool in the center. The ribs came slathered in sauce which is usually not a good sign but I gave it the benefit of the doubt… felt like chewing rubber and they had no flavor. My coworkers orders the bbq chicken and it looked like baked chicken slathered in sauce. They said it was also kind of dry. Had high hopes… but this place became the butt our jokes for the time we had to spend in Dayton. Just plain bad…

Ribs are the toughest around. Flavor is good. Chicken here is pretty good. Wish the ribs were more tender.

We go there everytime we come in from Kentucky. They don’t have a big dine-in area so not good for large groups. Always busy with carry-out and dine/in. We love the barbecue chicken and prices are very reasonable. Service is always fast and courteous,

Went for lunch today. Got the ribs… Great flavor but very tough and chewy. Was not happy at all.

I always get the half BBQ chicken and house dressing for the salad. It’s consistently good, fall off the bone meat, for a crazy low price. I always end up eating the other leg, thigh, and other half of the Bake potato for lunch the next day it’s so much food. All for 7 or 8 dollars. Carry out is the way to go. It’s relatively healthy too as there is hardly any fats except the butter for the sour cream and bread roll and bake potato. The bad reviews of this place seem to come from the disappointment that this place does not smoke their meats, which is true. The chicken is baked then BBQ ‘d over flame, which is still delicious with the BBQ sauce they add.

I can’t attest to the barbeque, but I just had the most succulent fried chicken wings here! I ordered off the lunch menu: Three broiled chicken wings, one side, and one medium fountain drink for $ 5.84, after tax. I waited awhile for my order; maybe 15 minutes or so. The wings came out piping hot. I was expecting baked chicken wings since that’s what«broiled» means to me. These things might have been broiled, but what I ate were some of the best, home-made style, straight up good, fried chicken wings I’ve ever had. Very tasty! The green beans were average. Will be back! Maybe I’ll even try the barbeque next time…

Not the fanciest place, not about the sauces… it’s a dry rub place. Minutes from Wright Patterson and east Dayton.

Blech. Worst bbq I can remember having — I ate maybe a fourth of my pork sandwich and then just ate all the steak fries(which were perfectly serviceable). I honestly couldn’t stand it — not sure what they did to it, but it didn’t taste like any barbeque I’ve ever eaten before. Husband agreed. Service was fine — just the food that was awful.

I’m only giving this one star because I can’t go any lower. I hate having to give a review like this but this was the nastiest ‘BBQ’ I’ve ever eaten. After asking I found out there is NO smoking going on… They don’t even use liquid smoke. It’s baked… Then thrown on a grill… When asked why they are called ‘hickory’ when there is no smoking they got upset… Meat was rubbery(no wonder considering the prep). The sauce was flat. They had no desserts available for purchase. Seriously, avoid. Avoid. Avoid avoid!!! If we didn’t have a gift certificate we would have felt horrible for paying as much for this! We have been part of competition smoking teams for years… We know BBQ… We know meat… I’ve eaten better from the worst and newest teams… At least they smoked the meat. The only thing I was pleased with was they gave us a partial refund.

Love the ribs. Love the salad. You have to try the house dressing that is a must.

I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was edible, but not good barbecue at all. It would have been passable as menu item at a restaurant that didn’t have a bit of other barbecue on the menu, but it’s pretty bad for a place that is supposed to focus on barbecue.

Had the pork chop sandwich this past week. It was OK, but it was not BBQ. It tasted like it was thrown on the grill and hit with some BBQ sauce. BBQ is cooked at a low temperature for a long time with smoke. The sandwich was OK and it was cheap, so even though there was some disappointment I’ll probably go back.
