A nice little side attraction at the AFM, I walked by this place for years before I dropped in. It is pretty much what the name suggests, a hall of fame for aviation. Very few artifacts; mainly there are storyboards about all the inductees, with some background information on aviation in general. There are some interactive exhibits that kids will like. All in all, a nice break from wandering among the planes, but not much of a stand-alone attraction. I usually spend 15 – 30 minutes.

A DISMALANDDREARYDAYINOCTOBER 7WORDS — Stand Alone or Museum All-in-One, It’s Great! We had been to the USAF Museum several times and decided we’d try something new in Dayton, so we looked up «Things to Do» and found this. Well, I didn’t get the address, since I figured there would be big Brown History/Culture Signs along the highway to guide us. Well, I was right — but this was, of course, part of the USAF Museum we’d not ventured into before. Still, we spent over an hour, enjoying the hands-on exhibits, watching the documentaries, and reading the bios on many of the famous inductees: Rickenbacker, Wright, Fokker, Boeing, Glenn, Earhart, Sperry, and the like… Also, the exhibits were not bogged down in historical facts, but written more like true bios — like you’d find on the Biography Channel or a good NatGeo special. We spent about 90 minutes there alone, because we’d seen most of the Museum itself. Still, if you make a trip to the Museum, you should definitely take the time to stop here, too.
