Back to Seasons for dinner with my bride this evening. We were both very pleased with the delicious mixed green salad — it’s huge and tasty. While she wasn’t thrilled with her chicken, I think too dry and not enough jus, I was very pleased with the Colorado lamb shank. We had two glasses of wine each and enjoyed the experience. Next time I think we will try for a table near the bar which seems more fun. But excellent wait staff and great food. This may be the best place in Davis.

Seasons is a great place to have a glass of wine, an appetizer and great conversation! It can be a very busy place on weekend nights during the school term, but during the week it is easier to find a table. The staff is attentive and upbeat. The Crab Cakes were the cat’s meow and a fantastic way to start an evening meal. The courses were well paced, not rushed, and the Chicken Chop came a short time after the appetizer course was cleared. The setting is elegant but understated. Excellent choice!

The restaurant is beautiful. I’d like to come back and sit on the patio next time. The service and menu are also great. The food was pretty good. They had several options, but I felt that their lunch menu was rather limited.

Last night we had our work 25th anniversary on the Patio. My co-worker and I started out at the bar while waiting for the rest of large party. I have to say I genuinely enjoyed my Kentucky Mule. It had the perfect blend of bourbon, lime, and ginger beer. It was very refreshing and had a smooth taste. The bar staff was very friendly and engaged with my co-worker and I while we enjoyed our cocktails. The restaurant was well light and seemed to have quite a few people already there for dinner at 5pm. Our party was outside on the spacious patio. The patio had been reserved for our party and was set up like an event. We were greeted by staff with wine options and allowed to either find our seat or mingle as we pleased. The food was set with a 3 course meal(2 options for our entrée). The staff was great about refilling drinks and removing any used plates. I had the California Yellowtail Jack with rice pilaf and veggies. Everything was very fresh tasting and the butter sauce for the fish was rich and creamy. If I am ever in Davis I will definitely keep this place in mind for another night.

DONOTHAVEANEVENTHERE! We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was terrible, the management was awful, they treated us as an afterthought. We paid $ 2500 to be cut off an hour early, our food thrown out, and our guests to be treated poorly. It was embarrassing. Mediocre food, bad service, terrible management– they ruined our event. Terrible place.

Food was good. Service left something to be desired. Husband is in town on business, and as we’re young, I think they thought we were broke college students. Service was brisk, and rather abrupt. Wouldn’t recommend it, just because I was kind of offended.

Seasons is our go to restaurant in Davis if we want something a little more upscale than the typical food place you’ll find in town. We have gone quite a few times but I’m writing on our most recent visit. We went on a Saturday night for my father in laws birthday and we brought our 14 month old son(our son has gone once before as a newborn). Per Unilocal it says it isn’t good for kids, which I find to be the opposite. I think it’s great because it is so loud inside with all the people talking that you can’t even tell if a kid were crying. And that’s the downside… Because you want something more upscale you would think the atmosphere would match, but it doesn’t. I’m sure on a normal week night the noise level is much different but on a Friday or Saturday when it’s jam packed it can get pretty noisy. We sat at a square table and my father in law was having such a hard time hearing across the table that I think he may have checked out of our conversation a few times. Other than that, the service is great and so is the food! I love how they walk around with a basket full of breadsticks and offer them to the table. It’s fun and different than just having standard bread on the table. Despite the noise being an issue we will still continue to dine at Seasons!

Valentine’s day dinner. Tried to do something sweet for my baby girl and take her to a «nice dinner.» Ambiance is good here. Dim lights, fair spacing in between one table and the next. They had a special Valentine’s dinner which for better or worse they should discontinue FOREVER. Alright here we go… Ordered the bacon wrapped jumbo prawns, and Mahi Mahi as our entrees. Just kept it simple that night and ordered 2 things as the kitchen was closing. They gave out complimentary bread sticks. There was a gentlemen walking around with a basket full of bread sticks, he would lay the basket out in front of us not saying one word and imply that we take one. These bread sticks were long, hard, and stale. There was no butter. You could hear the bread stick crack as it was snapped just proving how hard and stale it was. The jumbo prawns were honestly the worst prawns I’ve had in my entire life. I don’t know if the cook was like, «f this I don’t care no more, last entrée of the day I’m going home.» There was no love on this valentine’s day for my prawns. They were just extremely overcooked, very hard and chewy, like when steak is overcooked and dry and you’re just chewing for days rethinking the purpose of life. That’s what the prawns felt like. My gf’s Mahi Mahi plate was edible but nothing worth the price of what they charged. So I’m the type that will never complain to the waiter/waitress if the food is bad despite what my Unilocal reviews may reveal but I just had to speak up to the waiter this time. PLOT twist, the waiter actually tried to pay for my meal. This was an extremely shocking gesture, as I have never really encountered that ever before nor heard such a story. I did not take the offer as I feel I needed to take responsibility for the poor decision to choose Seasons for Valentines Day. Shoutout to the bald waiter who is of the utmost class and seems like he cares about his customers. 0 star food unfortunately, would not recommend eating at this establishment.

Date night! Some would say, «woot!» Never understood that though. Lobster deviled eggs– sound pretty darn extravagant. I missed the lobster in there somewhere, but I did see the three fish eggs(«salmon caviar” — looks like bait to me) on each egg half. Wood-fired Sonoma Goat Cheese– delicious! The olive oil surrounding the goat cheese in the bottom of the bowl was a wonderful warm dip for the croutons(«grilled toast points») on which to spread the cheese. Cast Iron Duck Breast– with an aversion to kale, my date ordered asparagus as a sub and enjoyed this dish. Valley Raised Kobe Burger– yes, I ordered a burger at a sit-down restaurant. No, I don’t feel bad about it. It was very good… and I added ALL of the options($ 2 each) — avocado, bacon AND a fried egg. Egg was runny and dripped that yummy goodness down the rest of the sandwich. Corkage fee– $ 12. Not horrible. Nor can I pop bottles by my dang self here. Menu has changed a little. I’ve posted a picture of the current one. Assume it will change though. Thanks again to Dr. P for the gift certificate! A tad on the pricey side(just over $ 100 w/o tip for two of us), but a fun treat.

My boyfriend and I We were in town for his work function from San Francisco. Being big foodies, we were a little skeptical of what Davis had to offer. Lo and behold, we stumbled across this hidden gem. THEBUTTERNUTSQASHBISQUEISEVERYTHING!!! My boyfriend and I ordered this as a started & had to order a 2nd(ITWASTHATAMAZING). We hand Brussel sprouts, lobster deviled eggs, mahi mahi, & chicken. All equally amazing! Great atmosphere, service & vibe ;)

Absolutely the best Manhattan I’ve ever had. I was never that big of a fan of them because other places either made them too bitter or too watery. This one hit the spot like nobody’s business. The goat cheese plate was very good. The server was super friendly and the perfect amount of attentive– let us enjoy our meals and each other’s company(we were on a first date) but didn’t allow my glass to stay empty for too long. The kobe burger I had was decent, but I wouldn’t say it blew me away. Tommy J’s still the best burger in town, I’d say ;) But the atmosphere was great!

Went here for a Sunday afternoon Birthday Brunch with the parents and it was just what we were looking for. Nice but not too nice places like this are difficult to find in Davis so this is a little hidden gem on the edge of downtown. The location is superb for twirling around downtown though the train can be distracting occasionally as it rolls through. PROS: the cocktails were fun. Great goat cheese appetizer. For ordering sandwiches, the food was delicious and decadent CONS: sandwich bread got soggy quickly; crab cake sliders were underwhelming…, the loud train

Me and my friend were craving seafood, and being in Davis, there aren’t much seafood places around. Seasons came up, and we decided to check it out. It’s a nice place, quiet, definitely a higher class restaurant compared to everywhere else. We ordered the crab cakes, the steak and some fries. Unfortunately, they were out of the lobster deviled eggs, which are suppose to be real popular. The crab cakes were good, but you only get 2 and for the price, meh, but it’s «crab» so oh well. The steak was nice and tender as well, cooked medium rare the way I like it. It didn’t seem like a lot of food but it was filling. Service was good, nothing negative to say. 3.5 stars in my book, try it if you haven’t!

Took a large group to Seasons for dinner there a couple of weeks ago. Maybe it wasn’t their night or maybe the stars were against me however I was just not impressed with this place. First I ordered the Gazpacho soup special and although good, it had way too many onions diced up in there. I then ordered the steak — I mean, really? How does one go wrong with steak? Well I ordered it Medium Rare and it came to me much more Medium. You could tell the pan was extremely hot because the sear was tough and the first quarter inch of the steak was very well done and the center was a little pink. Maybe some people like that Super Sear, I don’t know. But I really did not. They took a really good steak and ruined it. The service was very good but at one point I felt a little sorry for the girl because they ran out of like everything pretty early in the evening. We had 6pm reservations and by the time we ordered they were out of about 3 items already. Huh? Decent wine and beverage list and the menu itself was pretty varied.

The best restaurant in davis, hands down. Food is amazing and the service is always spot on. I love all of their nightly specials, Some of my favorites are the spaghetti and meatballs on Tuesday, and their nightly market fish is always delicious. They have amazing cocktails and an insane wine list. The patio is amazing year round and they have a fabulous happy hour, even offered on Saturdays!

Nice, white tablecloth and casual dress sort of place. The safest bets on the menu are the pizzas(really well flavored, great) and the specials(which vary duh!). The service always seems nice in there, very low key and professional. It’s a great place to have a good discussion w/friends or family. It won’t blow your socks off, but it’s predictably in the«very good» range. Except when there’s a big parent’s event weekend in town. Then all bets are off, but that’s true everywhere in Davis.

Ah, Seasons. I had probably been a few times early on because you could get a free appetizer after showing your server tickets to a show at the Mondavi Center; not sure if they still do that anymore. Described as a casual upscale place, most times I dine at Seasons nowadays are for work-related lunches, anywhere from 1 – 3 times per year. For large groups we have been seated indoors near the window as well as the enclosed outdoor patio(where you WILL hear any Amtrak train horns since it’s right by the railroad tracks, and have a view of that odd giraffe statue by the Hallmark Inn). It’s located across the street from the Regal Cinema and a few doors down from C.R.E.A.M., an easy walk from any downtown parking. I’m usually a fan of any of their seafood options: dungeness crab cake sliders, tuna melt sandwich, salmon picatta, market fish daily special including spaghetti pescatore or blackened fish, etc. I also enjoy the beet salad, risotto, and their bisques. Dessert-wise, everything they have is good — gelato(Konditorei), sorbet, berry crisp, brownie a la mode, crème brûlée, and the bread pudding. I’m not just saying that, I’ve never had a bad dessert experience there! Again, their menu does change seasonally(hence the name) so specific items may change. I don’t typically choose this restaurant on my own for personal lunch/dinner sit-down options when in Davis(similar situation can be said for Osteria Fasulo, Paesanos, Mikuni, or Taste of Thai since we tend to frequent those for work lunches), can’t complain since usually my meals here are paid for, but to be honest the food is always good. Certain servers can be slow, especially when there are multiple large groups of diners/patrons, but when it’s a celebratory lunch with three courses then we don’t mind that much… more time to enjoy the break!

Perfect dinner spot! Reasonable prices for AMAZING quality food. +Lobster Deviled Eggs came with 5 — tasted awesome! +Tiger Prawn Pasta — flavors were good, pasta al dente +Duck with polenta was the star of the night! MUSTORDERDISH, the duck was so tender, skin flavorful, polenta was tasty! +Mahi Risotto Special — fish was moist, risotto had a little too much arugula for my taste, but all in all a well-rounded dish The skinny bread sticks are addicting! Parking can be a hassle, but there’s a small parking lot with narrow spaces right across the restaurant. They take reservations & the service is up to par, very friendly, warm, professional & energetic! Whenever I find my way back to Davis, I will definitely return!

3.5 stars but great service so I rounded up. Seasons is one of the slightly more high brow restaurants in Davis so you won’t see as many students here so it’s a nice way to momentarily escape from the college-town atmosphere. I would consider coming here for a casual business lunch. I definitely will come back to try some of their other items. It’s not an expensive restaurant but for the amount I’m paying I would normally expect something a bit better or a bit more food. I’ve been here twice so far. Once when they had their weekend brunch menu and once for dessert. I ordered the eggs benedict. It was pretty good and I would get it again but like I said, it was expensive considering the portion/quality. Nothing about it was extremely memorable but it was good overall. I came here more recently to grab dessert with a friend. I love crème brûlée but ever since I learned to make it, I’ve had a hard time justifying buying one that’s just vanilla. The crème brûlée here is pretty good and a decent size. I appreciate the use of real vanilla bean. If I was really craving crème brûlée and didn’t want to put in the time and money to make a huge batch, I’d just buy one here. But to be honest I don’t think I’ll get the normal one again. Maybe I’ll try the yin yang one? Service was average. Better my first time here than my second but nothing super good or bad.
