Great selection of teas, coffees and pastries. You’ll never go back to any café after you try their coffee! The only downside is that it is always packed with students, hard to find a seat.

Any place that charges me to use my debt card will never get a tip from me. Coffee is ok.

Fresh coffee and muffins this morning before our jaunt to Jack London. Bright and friendly faces greeted us as our orders were taken. Great atmosphere, friendly service and great array of coffee and teas as usual.

Hmm I do love and enjoy the baked goods, teas and Hot Cocoa. The noise level is at times well not inviting. I LOVE sitting outside in the summer months under the umbrella’s. I meet my new husband their on our first meeting. A fan for ever.

Mishka’s is a good place for folks looking for a public study/work spot. The coffee is very tasty. Of all the coffee shops in Davis, I’d say Mishka’s has the best pastries. I’m not a huge fan of the subdued atmosphere, but if you are a student or are working from a coffee shop, Mishka’s will definitely be your speed.

A really great place to study. Super cool, relaxed ambiance. Just make sure you arrive early to get a plug for your laptop… and always order their coffee– sooo good!

People always boast that this is their go-to study spot, but I’m not the biggest fan. It’s not horrible, but there’s better coffee at Pachamama and better seating for studying almost anywhere else(seriously, it’s so crowded… why did they change locations??) I do like the tables at the front that are reserved for NOT studying. More for the locals, less for the students.

The pro’s choice for Davis coffee shops. As an exceptional coffee bar, yes, they brew many quality coffees & teas at reasonable prices. Moreover, the charm & atmosphere Mishka’s boasts in downtown is my favorite, having been to many, if not all, of the other competitors. The first small seven tables in the front of the shop are reserved permanently for NOLAPTOPS, SCHOOLWORK, or STUDYINGOFANYKIND.(There are a bunch of seats and tables for ‘studying’ & stuff, too.) This is an establishment I am proud to endorse.

I loved this little café or a quick coffee and oatmeal. The ambiance is really nice — warm and cozy. TONS of students studying and working on homework. Nice and friendly workers. Quick turn around on coffee and reasonable prices. You get two hours of free wifi with a purchase. The coffee was delicious and smooth. The toasted coconut oatmeal was yummy and plentiful. Great alternative to Five Bucks down the street.

Mishka’s = the place where all Internet connection except for overpriced crappy one go to die. It’s a trap! If anyone comes here, they are guaranteed to spend because like every person(with privilege) in the 21st century, they will need dat Wifi but Mishka be like, hide yo kidz hide yo wifi so unless you cough up $ 4 for a drink or pastry, you stuck in the past with your book or Internet-less laptop. If you’re lucky, your phone might get some reception and you can snap that fancy but basic window spot you grabbed while pretending to study. Anyway, this is a coffee place so instead of complaining about their Internet, I should be talking about what they serve. I have to say, their drinks are pretty good. I have heard that people think it is too sweet so the coffee isn’t great but for me, it either tastes good or it doesn’t. Hands down, I recommend the hot matcha drink. I feel like it get my money’s worth whenever I order that here. The matcha they use tastes quite authentic. There is no «matcha» gritty crumbs in my drink like the matcha latte at Starbucks. There’s subtle sweetness when you first take a sip and an obvious bitterness that bites me at the end, which I love! I also like the mint mocha here. They keep their sweetness to a tolerable level for me. Don’t pay with your card! Have some cash so you can avoid the 20 cents extra. Those cents add up! The ambience here is why I come back. It’s not like Temple, which feels very minimal and fresh. Mishka’s been here for a while and it just feels more«lived in», like a part of Davis that I don’t want to let go of. I love that they feature local artists’ painting all the time. It gives a new look to the place. Sometimes the music is obnoxious but sometimes they do play some good old Frank Sinatra. I miss the nights studying here until 11pm before midterms and because I was broke, I downloaded all my podcast so I don’t need to use the Internet(hence, I did not have to buy something every 2 hours). It’s a good place to unplug and gather your thoughts. What’s perfect is Avid Reader across the street. You can go get a book and find a good corner to read and stare out the window and people watch. If you stay late enough, cross the street again and go to Vini for a reassuring glass of wine. Go here for dates, the romantic one or the catch up one with your friend. Minus one star because of the terrible Internet and the cramped space i had to squeeze me and my backpack through. That still won’t stop me from coming back.

This place is packed right down to the last seat. I would only go here to just grab something then go. They have some pastries in addition to their coffee drinks, along with a few more interesting selections such as the Jolted Thai(thai iced tea + shot of espresso), the Soul(herbal tea mix + soy milk + honey), Maple latte, and pumpkin spice. My girlfriend introduced me to the their two toned mocha and it was really good! Different from your average mocha. I ordered their Soul drink which is basically a tea latte. The herbal tea they used was chamomile and lavender, mixed together with hot, steaming milk and honey-it was a super comforting drink. I would return to order those two things again!

Good espresso, San Pellegrino water, good location. Opposite a decent bookstore. What kills this place is the twerps who occupy the bathroom for an our at a time together with their macbooks. Doesn’t UC Davis have dorms? Yuck.

This is my go to place to get coffee in Davis! When I need caffeine for long study sessions, I always get Mishka’s. Their coffee has rich flavor(it’s not watered down like most places) and it keeps me awake! Mind you, I drink coffee frequently and I’m pretty immune to it but Mishka’s coffee can keep me up for hours when I need to. FORSTUDYING: The atmosphere is a bit noisy so if you need it to be quiet when you study, this isn’t the place for you. This place is always crowded, doesn’t have a lot of outlets and you need to purchase something to get a wifi password that only gives you access to 2 hours worth of wifi. Overall, great for coffee but not for studying. Come here to hang and enjoy a good drink instead!

Mishka’s is my go-to coffee shop/study spot in Davis. It has the BEST black tea I’ve ever had. I love their vanilla almond black tea, especially. I am yet to try their herbal teas! I also love their medium roast! Now for the food: As a vegan, it makes me happy that they have many vegan snacks, however, none are that impressive. Odwalla bars, I can buy anywhere. I can buy dark chocolate at my local grocery store. So nothing’s special. The main reason for my high rating is the ambience. This place is SOOO study conducive. Everything, from the paint color on the walls, to the acoustic music playing, just makes me want to be productive, which is why I love this place. Also, there’s an unspoken rule to use hushed tones when using the study area(there’s a spot purely for chatting). Minus 1 star for the two hour limit on using their internet for each purchase :(. They didn’t have that rule before! Despite this, I’ll most probably be back.

I love Mishka’s in every possible way. Their coffee is great, their service is incredible, and their ambiance is very cool. My boyfriend and I used to go here every Tuesday and Thursday in between classes. It’s not too far from campus, so we used to walk here in the mornings. It’s usually pretty full, so one of us normally grabbed a table while the other ordered our drinks. My boyfriend normally orders the Mishka’s Latte and I get the White Chocolate Mocha when I’m in a coffee mood or a Jasmine Tea when I’m in a tea mood. The really great thing here is that if you have any sort of issue with your drink, they will either fix it or remake it for you without a problem. They might ask how you would prefer it to be made, but other than that, no questions. Probably only 2 out of the 50 times that Ive been here, I’ve asked to have my drink remade, but the second time they came out, they were completely on point. Another thing I love about Mishka’s is that they display local artist’s artwork on their walls. They have a new exhibit every month or so, and it’s cool to see all of the different art pieces. Other than the artwork, the shop is decorated nicely too. The warm orange walls with the dark brown accents really make the place feel comforting. It’s the kind of place where I would want to spend a rainy day drinking tea and reading a book. The pastries and other food items that they offer are tasty as well. I’ve had the baklava here and rivals some of the Mediterranean restaurants in Davis. I don’t get many of their other food stuffs because I usually stop by Posh Bagel before Mishka’s, but everything in the display looks amazing. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend Mishka’s is because I wouldn’t want it to be any more crowded than it is(selfish, I know). In all seriousness, though, if I am meeting anyone, I immediately suggest Mishka’s because I’m excited for them to try it and it gives me an excuse to go.

Of the places I visited while in Davis, this spot was the coolest. A great community vibe and some delicious fare. Try a coffee or a croissant or a smoothie or a cookie… I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by anything here. Note… they charge an extra 20 cents for credit card transactions… weird. But the folks are friendly, the food and drinks are good, and don’t forget to bus your own dishes.

If you’re looking for a non-chain coffee shop with its own unique flair, check out Mishka’s! This cute brick building has a great atmosphere for studying and will meet your coffee and pastry needs! Go ahead and bring your books! Lots of study spaces in the back portion of the shop at the multiple tables. They definitely make the most use of the space with everything squeezed in there! What I also love is that the front few tables are for those who aren’t studying(no books or laptops allowed). So if you’re coming to have a chat with a friend, you’re guaranteed a space where the tables become available fairly regularly. There is also plenty of seating outside! The baristas are very friendly. There is a 20 cent charge for all card payments. I’ve only gotten plain lattes here(I’d definitely recommend getting a double shot — the single shot was weak on the espresso flavor). My husband got a decaf Americano and it was crisp, clean, and strong! I LOVE their pastry selection! Everything is mostly in the $ 2 – 5 range, very affordable. I’d highly recommend the Spiced Apple Cream Scone, and get it warmed up! It’s moist and sweet, sprinkled in cinnamon sugar, and has tiny soft pieces of apple throughout, mmm! I’ve also had the chocolate croissant. It’s everything you’d expect in a croissant: flaky and buttery with the perfect ratio of rich chocolate filling! Take a break from the usual coffee chains and check out Mishka’s! You’re sure to find something you’ll love.

I’ve been hearing of Mishka’s years ago when I first came to Davis, but never took the time try it until I graduated(ironic, isn’t it?). Just like many coffee shops, Mishka’s has a really hipster but relaxing vibe, perfect for students who want a quiet atmosphere to study. DRINK: – Mint latte — 4 stars I quickly glanced at the menu and this drink caught my eye. I love mint and I love lattes, so it already sounded good to me. No regrets! The mint flavors blended in so well with the latte but wasn’t overpowering! It was also really smooth and easy to drink, with very little bitterness at all. SERVICE/COMMENTS: The barista was really friendly and made small talk with me as I ordered. They also knew the name of the customer behind me, so I know they remember more frequent customers — an added bonus that makes people feel welcomed and stay loyal to their business. TIP: If you order for here, they’ll make your drink in a cup!

Summary: Outlets along walls, lots of tables, good free-trade coffee, 2 hour Wifi limit. Once upon a time, I got locked out of the apartment and had no where to go. Luckily, Mishka’s café was only a short walk. Mishka’s seems like a really popular spot, especially for graduate students. The café is filled with people reading and using their laptops. Mishka’s café respects this, and at the same time, there is a spot for those who just want to get coffee and relax or catch up with friends. The coffee here is also pretty good, especially their Mint Mocha. Mishka’s is a free trade coffee shop. There is an extra charge of $.20 when you use your credit card or debit card, but the workers make sure you know of this before paying. Their matte latte tasted too milky for my taste, especially since a matte latte should have a nice matcha flavor. Getting loose-leaf brewed tea seems to be popular, so I will probably try that next. To access the wifi, you have to ask the front, and they will give you a receipt with the username and password. However, you only have 2 hours of Wifi access starting from when you receive the receipt. Also, outlets are only near the walls, so plan how you want to spend your time here and where you want to sit. Nevertheless, I think Mishka’s is perfect as a study spot where you want to escape the distractions of your computer, and read a book or textbook. My only complaint is that the seating here seems a bit cramped. Nevertheless, Davis doesn’t have many coffee shops with nice study spots, so I’ll be coming here when I need to get work done.
