I knew this place would close. Every employee was scared of the owner. I stopped coming here years ago, when they switched hot dogs for sausages on the appetizer sampler. Oh, excuse me, weiner schnitzels. This closure was inevitable.

Ive had their chicken Schnitzel sandwich which is delicious, don’t care much for the potato salad or even regular salad on the side with dressing. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is past month I’ve tried to go there for lunch TWICE. They are closed until 3pm. Mon-Wed. Which forces me to go their busiest days, i want to avoid the rush and enjoy my lunch. Not be forced to pay outrages Dinner prices when I could pay 12 dollars instead of 18 for a meal. AND deal with loud drunkwards in the evening crew. Hopefully it changes when school starts back up otherwise I’ll look for an alternative lunch place in davis.

We went here when my parents were in town. My dad loved his sausages. My mom and I both ordered the pork roast. The meat was rather dry, despite the menu listing sausage mixed in for moisture. I enjoyed the red cabbage and czech dumplings that accompanied the meat. The complimentary starter bread was very fresh and delicious. The prices were in-line with a «nice» dinner(in other words, expensive for my student budget). Their lunch offerings are a little more affordable. I would return, but I would definitely pick a different dish.

Went here on a Thursday night for the first time, My friend and I walked right in — unknowing to us there was a door guy checking IDs(He was to busy in the corner flirting with some girls) We were stopped by someone who said«Hey you need to have your ID’s checked» We said oh sorry there was no one there, so we didn’t know… She rudely said«Well you should have waited» —Why would I wait at a front gate entrance to a restaurant & bar if there is no sign, no host stand and no one around? Whatever, so we showed our ID’s went in, looked around, but now our moods were sour towards this place. So we just used the bathrooms and left. To bad too, because their fire area and patio looked pretty chill! I will go back though and try them for Dessert! Their cakes in the cases looked bomb! But I won’t be back to hang out in the bar.

Great traditional Czech food, drinks and deserts. It is very cute place. Service is always friendly. I love to sit on their patio when the weather is great

My review for Little Prague is really based strictly on their dessert selection. I haven’t actually been here for their dinner service or bar(it’s a bit on the pricier side for sure), but Little Prague is a great little place to get dessert in Downtown Davis. Little Prague is a restaurant that’s been in Davis for a while, but it may not be as well known as many of the other established places. You’ll find Little Prague across from Jack-in-the-Box. At night, it’s the place with the pretty lights and the fire going on their patio(no, not Bistro 33). The restaurant definitely has a ‘charm’ to it. Some may like it, some may not. It sort of has the feel of a place you’d find in a small town when you’re on a European road trip. There’s definitely a quirky vibe to Little Prague. Take it or leave it. As I said, my wife and I usually come here for the desserts. Little Prague serves a selection of delicious cakes and pastries. The cake slices go for a little under $ 7. They serve a variety of European-style cakes… from Black Forest chocolate cake, to pear cake, to even princess cake! There is a cake for whatever mood you’re in. Tonight I had the pear cake… and it was perfection. It’s a chocolate cake with light cream filling, pear, and marzipan shell. The cake within was extremely moist and not too sweet — definitely a more subtle and delicate flavor. The marzipan outside, which you’d expect to be much sweeter, was… but it paired perfectly with the less sweet inside. It was oh-so-good! I’ve had many of their cake slices over the years, and I can say that I’ve enjoyed them all. And I’m sure you’d find one that you’d really like to. Just go on over to Little Prague and check out their display of cakes and pastries. If you’re like me, you’ll totally drool over the choices. My one complaint about little Prague is that the desserts and drinks are ever-so-slightly more than I’d like to pay(particularly for the drinks). But I wouldn’t let that stop me from coming here for dessert after dinner. Oh yea… and they open pretty late too! Midnight snack, anyone? Give it a try!

OMG do not consider this place a bar by any means. Literally I’ve been there 3 times and I can count all the people in the bar from ALL3TIMES on one hand(not including myself). I mean it’s a joke. Crazy expensive. weird set up… The only reason i went all 3 times was because it has a fireplace. Seriously.

I hate to throw my fellow Czechs under the bus, but this place was pretty close to as bad as it gets. The staff seemed hurried and put out. The décor is from the 1980s. The Chicken Paprikash was inedible. Flavorless and the chicken was massively over cooked. And worse than worse, the beer(we ordered the all Czech beer flight) was flat and stale. The bar looked pretty cool and if I was in college I am sure it would be a fun place to hang out — but yuck on the restaurant.

Great atmosphere. Four outdoor fireplaces interspersed throughout the outdoor seating.

This place charges $ 20/plate prices with Applebee’s furniture, ad-filled commercial radio, and mediocre tasting food. Should be a hole in the wall but it’s just an eye sore. Definitely left here with more to desire. We had the Beef Stroganoff and the Potato Pancakes Special.

My husband and I love this place. We usually come for happy hour and drinks with friends but also enjoy the food. The beer selection is great; husband loves the rotating beer selection, especially the staropramen dark. Tonight we ordered off of the Oktoberfest menu and enjoyed fresh, garlicky potato pancakes, goulash soup and bratwurst. Potato pancakes are one of my all time favorites and the goulash soup was full of flavor and deliciously homemade. A piece of fudge cake to share for dessert was the perfect ending to date night dinner. This is one of the more expensive restaurants and bars in town but the atmosphere is so lovely and we have always received great service. The patio is the perfect place for dinner with a date or to relax and hang out with friends.

When in Davis visiting friends, we enjoy this little gem. Today, a violinist was playing in the patio out front. Quite lovely. We sat along the window amongst the pillows and enjoyed some freshly prepared yumminess. My friend had the schnitzel and I had the stuffed French toast. Divine! My friend created her own ‘iced coffee’ with a glass of ice and a cuppa joe. The wait staff were friendly, even chasing us down to bring a book we had inadvertently left behind. The restaurant is also kid friendly as I brought Miss A with me, and they didn’t seem to mind her happy antics. As always, a lovely meal with VN, and a great place to grab a lovely meal.

They were all tasty We were pleasantly surprised by this small random place.

Little Prague is very authentic Czech Restaurant from the 90’s The food is really good, like home. The dishes I’ve had on couple of visits were done better than I’d prepare them myself and they have very good baker. They deserts are delicious, good variety and the restaurant bakes fresh bread. But the authenticity does not stop there. They’ve got czech beer on tap and not just some usual exports, but the beers you actually get in Czech pubs today. I was very pleasantly surprised. It’s clear the owner is doing his best to bring a little bit of home into California. The staff was all very friendly, joked around with us. We had a really pleasant time dining there. It has been like that every time I’ve visit the restaurant. Still I’ve read negative reviews and I understand well how they come to pass. Czech people don’t pretend. They don’t fake smile even if you are rude to them, just because you are a customer. If you come off as an asshole right off the bat, then expect the cold shoulder treatment. Actually I’m surprised how gently those guys were still treated after being total jerks to the staff, by their own admission. If the pub was full of Czech patrons at the time of those incidents, they’d probably walk away with broken teeth as well. Remember the golden rule, and treat people like you want to be treated.

A friend and fellow Davis grad invites me here regularly when he passes through town. I’m not exactly sure why. One of the few classy joints in town when we went here that’s still around is the only reason I can think of. The food here is okay. I’m usually here on weekends in mid-mornings, so the brunch menu is what I’m most familiar with(I didn’t come here when I was a student ever. Neither did he. It’s weird.) The pork roast isn’t very tender, it’s a bit dry despite being in a pool of juice and the portion is small. I like the house sauerkraut, which has a mellow sour note to cut through the meat but not strong enough to overwhelm the flavors. The dumplings are just plain weird. Same with the goulash. It’s not particularly flavorful or spicy — the general profile is thick, salty tomato soup. A light serving of meat and vegetables, but it’s not particularly thick either. I’ve never been here when it’s been busy, but it does seem to take wait staff forever to help us. Food also takes a good amount of time to come up. As I mentioned above, the portions are on the small size, and despite the ~$ 10 brunch entrée price, expect the final per-person totals to be on the high size. Also, just a warning — I participated in a Q&A, «text your answer for a prize» challenge they had a couple years ago. That led to an avalanche of text-ads telling me about all the specials going on at Little Prague, and all the«Who is this?!» and«STOPTEXTINGME» follow up texts from other victims. Hopefully they’ve stopped this ill-advised text-ad strategy that shares the phone numbers of their customers with strangers.

It’s a great fine dining experience if you are looking for one in Davis. The atmosphere with the décor, layout and leisurely music makes this place a pleasure to enjoy. The exterior reminds me of a small cottage and the interior has a cozy, classy feeling to it. It was my first time trying Czech cuisine. My friend and I tried the spinach soup, knockwurst(mix of pork, beef and garlic sausage) and beef goulash. The flavor of all the food is not up to par. It’s pretty bland for the most part. Spinach soup was good, but not the greatest spinach soup I have ever tried. For the sausage selections, you can choose if you want pork, beef or veal in the sausage which I thought was interesting. They also give you a variety of mustard for you to dip the sausage into. This was my most favorite dish, but probably the mustard helped out with boosting the flavor. Looking back at the menu right now for the sausage description, I am NOWUPSET that they didn’t serve us the sauerkraut or potatoes that ISSUPPOSETOCOMEWITH the sausage! No wonder! Because when they served the sausage dish out, it was simply a sausage on a plate! =(No side carbs or veggies, but simply a sausage on a plate. How unappetizing and rude. Their beef goulash was average. Presentation was simple — with beef stew next to bread slices. I expected a «wow» taste to this entrée, but it just didn’t happen. There was really no flavor to their beef sauce. Disappointed. Bottom line: I think I was paying the price for the classy dining and décor, but not for the flavor and worth for the food.

I came out to support the BF and the event for his FLSA Club for UC Davis Law School students. Since it was his event, he got there early, or what«early» should be for Davis. It was Thursday night and it was a cock fest until about 11pm. The bartender was pretty awesome. I wanted to try all the drop shot drinks, and especially the ones that were on fire. My initial drink was the Prince Julep. I didn’ty realize they had an extended drink menu until I examined the drink menu a little closer. Impressed with the variety! 3 falming drop shots later and I’m totally feeling myself :) GREAT that a DJ came by and started playing music. Not too sure whether or not that happens every Thursday night or if it was just for the event that night. Either way, I had a great time.

Came here for the Davis Music Festival, and to be honest I probably would have never dropped in if it weren’t for that. The décor is nice. There’s plenty of seating options– indoor, bar, and outdoor patio. It was very humid inside. The bar tenders were friendly and I didn’t have a problem with them(although it was so-so for my friend — he had to place our order two times because the bartender seemed to have forgotten). We ordered shots and it came out to be a reasonable price. My friend also ordered the 24(?) oz. beer, which took three of us to finish! We also had a side of fries, which was fresh from the fryer, but I wished they had put some seasoning on it. We also ordered the«Prague dog» which reminded me of a bigger version of pigs in a blanket. It was plain but I did enjoy the breading. I also liked how they gave us different types of mustard, although I ended up using mostly the ketchup. I also saw some dessert on the side, which looked good. All in all, this place was just alright, didn’t stand out for me.
