Great apartment complex and are super fast at fixing any maintenance problems. Very quiet and very few complaints. Also a nice clean kept environment.

A great manager and team can make your stay at any complex memorable or miserable. I was fortunate enough to have lived here for 3 years(2009 — 2012) under Kerry.(However the last few months of my lease a new manager took over and Kerry moved to another Tandem property) I had noise issues with one of my neighbors and after talking to Kerry she quickly got to work on it. It took more than one complaint for my neighbors to stop making noise past quiet hours on a school/work night but each time I did complain, Kerry didn’t look mad or annoyed with me at all. I felt that she was easily approachable and easy to get in contact with if there were any issues. Jose handled a lot of the maintenance around the complex and he was quick to respond to an issue! He always said hi to me and I always saw him working hard around the complex. Grounds, laundry room, study room were always very well kept. One thing I didn’t like about the study room were the flickering lights. It gave me a headache if I studied there at night. Parking was only an issue a handful of times and towing was enforced. First complex I’ve lived at without non-central AC and I learned that I’ll never do that again. But there is central heating for the winter. For a small 1 bedroom, the kitchen was actually nice and spacious. Plenty of counter and cupboard space, good sized fridge/freezer and gas range. Pet friendly. They had some social activities and contests geared toward students during the year.

I lived in Chaparral for 2 years(2008 – 2010) while attending UC Davis and found the management to be just fine. They have an easy online system for reporting needed repairs and they are usually pretty easy to get in touch with. The only bummer was on move out day things had to be pristine in order to get all of our deposit back. That being said, we got most of it back and they gave us a list of things that needed to be cleaned beforehand. Other bonuses about the complex: close to the Safeway shopping center and a straight shot down Sycamore to campus. I will say that most of the tenants are college students, so be prepared for that atmosphere. My three roommates and I split up and found other housing(for me, slightly cheaper) which is why we left.

I would not recommend anyone to live here. The plumbing is terrible, the cabinets are old, and the management doesn’t do much to assure that we tenants have a comfortable living space. Also, I’ve had a couple of bad experiences while living here. First, my $ 460.00 package was«lost,» the lounge wifi is suuupppppeeeerrrr slow, and our hottub has been broken for the past 3 weeks which goes to show just how much they care. This is not me complaining, just telling telling you about my experience here. Fall 2013 = Goodbye Chaparral
