They are absolutely delicious, fresh and friendly. However, I still think Mr. M’s has an edge over them in freshness and preparation, but definitely not in size.

Listen no questions asked, this place is a all around bad ass experience. I’m a tough critic and it takes a lot for me to give 5 star ratings, but Laspadas earned it. Friendly staff, fresh food & my MONSTER sandwich was delicious. I have a huge appetite and it was just too big to finish! Employees make waiting entertaining by throwing the ham and toppings to one another! Loved it! Reasonably priced!

WOWWOWWOWWOW! Simply the best! There’s no other way to describe the operation Laspada’s has going on. I have been going to Laspada’s for the past 15 years and one thing has already remained the same. The subs here are life changing! If you’re lucky, there won’t be a line out the door for Laspada’s gigantic subs. Tip: if you come during lunch, or before a home game for the Dolphins or the Hurricanes you will wait at least 30 minutes for a sub, as there will be a large line probably circling the restaurant and going around the corner. People line up for these subs, and trust me they are worth the wait. You start with your selection of bread, then your sub maker will ask you what type of meat you would like. My personal favorites are either the turkey/roast beef combo or the sliced buffalo chicken. After you chose your meat, the sub maker will handslice the meat right before your eyes! Let’s just get one thing straight, these subs are not for the faint of heart. Piles of meat are then loaded upon the freshly baked sub roll. After, you can pick from a wide selection of toppings and sauces. The best part of all, after your toppings are loaded, Laspada’s signature move is to put another layer of meat on top! The vibe here is always positive and you’ll often hear the sub makers jamming out to rock music playing from an old-timer radio. The subs are very well priced and they could probably charge double and I would still come back! I went to law school at Nova Southeastern which is literally across the street. I came to Laspadas for lunch several times a week. Unfortunately, I now live in Miami but whenever I am close to Laspadas you better believe I’m stopping in for a sub.

Dude – it’s so impossible to beat these sandwiches!!! I work in a big national property management company and one of my national reps came in for a regional visit last week. He was on Unilocal looking for a good place to take our regional team to lunch and saw reviews here so he suggested it. We love this place and jumped at the opportunity to get free lunch from our boss. The look on his face when the guy threw the SECOND stack of meat onto his Italian was awesome! His eyes got so huge and he was like, «MOREMEAT???» Love you Laspada’s!

I would give them 5 stars but went to order a 4′ sub for a party 2 days before the event and was told they couldn’t do it because the bread would not have enough time to rise??? What? Ordered one from Mr M’s and there was no bread rising issue!

Sandwiches are HUGE and super tasty! It’s usually super packed here around lunchtime, I try to go when I have breaks in between class. The only downside is they don’t have olives, and I LOVE olives… But just for their sandwiches, I can go without olives. Everyone that works behind the counter is also very friendly!

Steve r. born in west Philly, and eaten my share of so called«Philly, subs and steaks, subs meatballs, etc. thise is the closest to a Philadelphia hoagie I have eaten, south of Philly and I mean i95 south bound to the tip of this great country. try it, and one important thing, a hoagie is best, with mayo, or vinegar, but if you are not familiar with Philly you only know what some claim is real,

The mother of subs birthed a 5lb child for me tonight. Ordered the Chicken Salad sub and didn’t realize how big these things were. People were asking to get their subs cut into thirds! BF said it was the most heavenly he’s ever had. Inexpensive and only $ 8, this thing could feed a family of four.

It was ok in flavor but it was too pricey for me. I have a family of four so for lunch, I don’t like to spend more than $ 30. Roughly $ 7.00 per person. So when I saw on Unilocal this was cheap and tasty I was excited about giving it a try. The kids wasn’t hungry so only my husband and I ordered food. I ordered two small subs and two bags of small chips(no drinks) and the total was $ 20.00. No combo deals, everything sold separately. Maybe if they had combo deals and we received drinks with our order than $ 20.00 wouldn’t be so bad.

Back in the 90’s this was a regular place for me but for some reason I hadn’t been in a long time. Nothing has changed, and that is great. Once again concidered the top sub shop in South Florida. Yes, it’s busy but most people are for take out and they are fast. The subs are big and full not to mention the show they put on making yours, with meat flying and all sorts of joking around. Glad I went back, will be back again.

If you are looking for THE best sub sandwiches in the area — look no further. Personally — I’d go with either the Italian or the Monster. Either one, be prepared to eat.

When it comes to subs, they do not disappoint. But since my boyfriend stays away from carbs we came here to see if they had a lettuce wrap alternative. Instead, we opted for the Monster salad to share(my eyes are usually bigger than my stomach as I have leftovers in my fridge from Blaze pizza, panda express and Thai Spice at the moment but I digress) and I couldnt resist trying the voodoo heat chips. The salad was very fresh, although if you’re a guy, I would suggest ordering double meat as there was just not enough protein in this salad. The chips were tasty, I thought they had a kick to them, the bf had one and didnt think so. We both agreed that for a salad it was meh. just a salad and not something we would go out of our way for. Subs are still good Im sure.

Thankfully I do not live like around the corner from this place. They open one on 17th St. and I probably been there 10 times. By far hands-down one of the best sub shops in South Florida.

This was a must stop for me when I worked on cruise ships in the 90’s out of Lauderdale. Now, during business trips to south Florida, this is a must stop for me on my way back to Tampa via alligator ally. These subs are huge! Be sure to try the ‘monster’. This sub is heavier than my trumpet! The service is always friendly and fun to watch the team work. Be aware there is almost always a line, so plan on at least a 10 minute wait to order, but well worth it. I always get two, one to eat immediately, and one to ‘cure’ in my fridge overnight! The flavor and quality of ingredients is amazing. I wish there was one in Tampa but get my fix every trip south.

So I took a trip to Univ Dr location to celebrate purchase of my new Benz and to knock off another entry from my ‘to do list”. No I am not a «foodie», I just eat food and enjoy helping others, so reviews it is. I have taken notes from several conversations with different friends where«Laspadas» has been referred to as «best subs ever!» HHhmmm, I don’t believe in «best evers» because i feel so many factors come into play, in my honest opinion; one’s hunger, craving, mood etcetc As fas as Laspadas, WOW! Large Monster ordered. i requested for half to eat there and other half«to go». It was amazing! Full of flavor, freshness. «FLYING» turkey, ham and roast beef was interesting, the catching of, was just as much. 2nd half almost didn’t make into the fridge. «I’LLBEBACK!»

What can I saw about Laspada’s that hasn’t been said a million times before, simply the best sub ever! I have been a fan since they had their first shop in Lauderdale by the Sea and I am very happy to see them grow and expand through out south Florida, especially since this Davie location is close to my work! As soon as I walk in I can smell the freshness of the bread, the meat and veggies, the Laspadas aroma is unique, it’s important to note that even though they have expanded they still maintain their same superior quality and flavor through out all their locations, with meat still being sliced to order and the sub assembly line which they are famous for. This location offers indoor and outdoor seating and credit cards are accepted. If you are trying Laspada’s for the first time get the Monster with all the fixings, even if you are picky trust me just go with it, you won’t regret it.

Solid subs here that are insanely big! A few of us dropped by Laspada’s for a quick bite before an event. I was a little road weary and definitely hungry, and after I ordered the Italian, I thought, there is no way I’m going to be able to finish that!!! I almost did! There was a line when we walked in, but like others have mentioned, it moves quickly. You’ll customize your sub, and scoot on down and before you know it, you are ready to eat! What stole my heart though, is we had a vegetarian in the crew, and they asked her if she would prefer they get knives that hadn’t touched meat… and made sure she was taken care of! That little gesture speaks volumes for this place… and whenever I’m back in town, no doubt I’ll be making a return, and tasty visit!

Growing up in Miami and listening to the radio, every day you hear an ad for Laspada’s Original Hoagies. The radio hosts rave about them, which sucks because there aren’t any locations in Miami — they are all in Broward. When my fraternity brother in Broward wanted to meet for lunch, I wanted to see if Laspada’s lives up the hype. It does. We met at lunch and there was a line wrapped to the door. Eventually we made it up to the meat slicer and placed our order. I like this method as you know your meat is sliced right then and there and not possibly sitting around for hours. After that you head to the sandwich maker — he asks what you got, what cheese and condiments you want. When the meat is sliced, it gets tossed from the meat slicer right into the open bread. A lot of talent and practice here. And the last meat is slammed into the sandwich. From there you move to veggies and toppings before going to the check out for a drink, chips, side, or dessert. I went with a small Italian. My friend warned me to get the small, but I was still unprepared by how much meat they throw into these sandwiches. I mean you physically see them toss a pound of meat, and then they add the ham. I could only eat half of a small. Highly recommend ordering to go even you eat inside. The sandwich itself was delicious. Great flavor that even my leftover half that was consumed by my parents was referred to as «how an Italian should taste.» The staff was incredibly friendly and all seemed to be enjoying the day. The selection of chips was impressive — Kettle, Zapp’s. Even some I hadn’t seen before. Drink selection has fountain, bottle, and even cans of Dr. Browns. Note: Do not feed the ducks. They will bother you if you sit outside.

Laspada’s is a little piece of Philly in South Florida. It’s in a nondescript strip mall South of Nova Drive on University. Parking there can sometimes be a problem, especially around lunchtime. You might be happier parking at one end of the mall and walking down instead of clogging the parking lot like everyone else, waiting for someone to leave. That’s just a suggestion. The hoagies here are fantastic, and constructed with no small amount of showmanship. Head to the far end of the counter and tell them what kind of bread you want and what you’d like to have in it. I suggest ordering a traditional style hoagie, with oil and vinegar(i.e. no mayo), just to show you are a legit fan of hoagies and know what’s good. An Italian is a good one to start with. Get the Zapp’s chips. New Orleans does better chips than Philly.
