Was charged $ 15 for a terrible breakfast. The first problem was the lack of food on the buffet. They ran out of eggs and replaced them them with inedible runny mush. My military fiancé compared them to the powdered eggs the army feeds soldiers in the field. They also ran out of biscuits(which were pretty tasty) and didn’t replace them. The coffee was lukewarm and ran out as well. The bacon was good and plentiful. My whole party was incredibly disappointed in the experience.

Giving one star because there is no zero. We ate there tonight. Three of us had shrimp fajitas. The shrimp was frozen and when cooked, they were extremely mushy. One of us had the blackened grouper that was not blackened and we’re not sure if it was even grouper. Two in our crowd had the ribs that they said was very good. The service was lousy and when it came time to pay, we had to go to the bar to pay since the waiter was nowhere to be found. If you go to Daufaskie Island, do not go to this restaurant. We had two fabulous meals at the Melrose Beach Club and should have gone there for a third time.

Eagle’s Nest is what I believe to be the only air conditioned public dining options on Daufuskie island. That alone makes it worth the trip on a hot summer day if you find yourself in need of respite from the heat. That said, Eagle’s Nest restaurant may also be the only restaurant on Daufuskie where you are not dining w/an water front view. The restaurant is decorated in the typical country club décor, dark wood paneling, plush carpets, surf and turf on the menu. I had made reservations earlier in the afternoon and we were seated immediately. The menu was your typical country club menu, fish, steaks, burgers, chicken fingers, etc. I had the divers scallops and my husband ordered the rum and coke bbq ribs. Both entrees were good, although I should note the arugula tomato avocado salad, was not arugula but field greens. Not a huge deal, and I can see ingredient shortages on Daufuskie to be a common issue. Service was friendly, but harried. They felt short staffed, and that honestly was consistent all over the island not just at Eagle’s Nest. I have a feeling staffing on such a remote island during peak season is difficult. Overall Eagle’s Nest restaurant is a welcome addition to the 3 or 4 other dining options on Duafuskie.

This is my second time visiting Daufuskie. If you have ever visited you know that restaurant options are few and far between. I visited five years ago and this restaurant wasn’t here. I must say it was a pleasant surprise. We have eaten here twice now and the food is very good. It is a little pricey especially considering the portions are slight, but I’m on vacation so I’ll splurge a little. Service is pretty good, but like many of the restaurants on Daufuskie, when you walk in you sometimes get the feeling you are the first customer they have ever had, but that anxiety goes away when they bring out your food perfectly done without too much of a wait. The servers are also very attentive. The ribs were very good and I tend to be very critical of barbecue as a Tennessean and smoking enthusiast. The scallops were also large, sweet and deliciously prepared with cheese grits. The second night we went was pizza night, so we decided on the pizza. The pizza was also tasty and very well prepared. Having five people in my family and with five deserts on the menu, we naturally sampled them all. I think the chocolate chip bread pudding was the star of the show, but my wife really enjoyed the strawberry tort. My only complaint is that we showed up for dinner for a third time last night. They said they were shorthanded and it would be about a 15 minute wait to be seated. After 25 minutes of waiting without anyone checking back with us, we left. We were a litle disappointed, but we will probably go back and maybe call ahead next time. I am a bit torn on how many stars to provide. On the quality of food alone, I would give it four stars. However, considering some of the other intangibles mentioned in my review I will have to go with 3 stars.

Last night we feasted at the Eagles Nest. The food and service was exceptional! We started with bruschetta and little neck clams. Best we ever ate. We had the rum and coke barbecued ribs and the filet mignon. Everything was cooked to perfection, amazing flavors and excellent presentation. The chef, Michael DeMarco told us his love of food started at age 6. It showed in all he prepared. Bloody point has an exceptional find in this young chef!

I had a wonderful experience at The Eagle’s Nest! The employees were very kind to my family and I. We’ve been coming to Daufuskie for many years now so we love seeing the progress the new owners of Bloody Point have made already. We plan on returning to The Eagle’s Nest every time we are on the island and I recommend it to everyone!

I’ve eaten here five or six times now. Several lunches, 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. The food has always been fine, but nothing that leaves me craving more. Our last lunch there was the most disappointing. The menu options are diverse and interesting. My husband the beer snob, loves that they have a great selection and I’ve had some good cocktails. I always leave feeling that with just a few tweaks in the food preparation and in the service, this place could go from okay to awesome. I’m a little torn on this review, because in a normal situation I would only give it 3 stars. But there isnt anything normal about Daufuskie Island. Just the fact that there is now a climate controlled restaurant with a very nice ambience open on the island earns an extra star. I would love to see this place be a four or five star place all on its own. Maybe even a restaurant that people come to the island for.. . I’ll know I’ll be back to give it another try.
