Food was surprisingly good. Service was super friendly and didn’t make me uncomfortable dining solo. I had scallop and shrimp in mango chili sauce, seafood was perfectly cooked and not over cooked. The menu is a little too overwhelming, but I’ll need to try other dishes soon.

I’ve had take out from there a few times and it was always good. Last week we decided to go for a sit down meal. The food was tasty. The staff was friendly and took very good care of us. When they packed up our left overs they even added a little sauce which was nice. While a little dated the resturant was clean. I think we’ll make this a regular stop.

Prices are a little high but Iron Chef has some of the best Chinese food in the area! The food is always fresh, never over cooked with great flavor. Service is great too!

FYI for anyone reading the poor previous ratings other users have given Iron Chef, please be aware that Lee(the amazingly, super-friendly male who used to be the server) is now the restaurant owner as of January 2015(I believe) and will definitely do whatever it takes to be sure you’re satisfied! Try going there and don’t let the poor reviews turn you away as the restaurant is under new management. Lee usually waits on us(probably because he knows us by first names and remembers our orders) but I think he might be one of the few servers too, so you’ll definitely get good service. The meals are excellent, drinks are great, and the sushi is wonderful! Particularly the sweet potato maki.

Amazing sushi and staff! Always welcoming and joyful! There menu is fabulous offering a mix of Chinese food and sushi. The have many different varieties of sushi rolls. As a vegan I eat the vegetable roll Only which I find to be delicious. However my friends love the Philadelphia roll and crazy maki

I’ve been getting take out here for years. The crab Rangoons are AMAZING. I can eat like a thousand of them. The sushi is top notch too, and the pork fried rice is great. The orders are always ready when we get there and everyone is super nice. I generally only do take out here because it tends to be super empty and makes me feel like I’m being watched while I’m eating(I’m probably not). I will always recommend this place!

Took 2 teens and wife to dinner after moving to the area. We have found our Chinese restaurant. Food was fresh and had great flavor. Portions were great and the price was reasonable. Will come back soon.

The avocado in their sushi was browned and they decided that Martin Luther King Day was considered a holiday to charge $ 2 extra for lunch specials. I was told that rice would come with my lunch special when I asked and was informed on my arrival that it didn’t come with the take out version of the special. So, in overview, I was charged extra for my lunch special to get less food. This is a deceitful restaurant that you should avoid because they will try to swindle you at every corner. Will not be returning.

Not only was the order incomplete but it could have killed my child who has a severe peanut allergy and we informed them in advance. It looked as if Mr. peanut himself sprinkled peanuts all over our food. It should be a larceny for charging for this food!

I used to love coming here, however my last experience here was not so good… First off, we were the only people in the entire restaurant, it was wicked hot out, and there was no AC on. as soon as you walked it, the entire place smelled like chemicals(maybe they just had their rugs cleaned, but it was very overwhelming). The soup was really off(tasted like cornstarch not broth and spices and it had a jelly-consistency), and while waiting for my sushi to be made, the owner(who was making it) sneezed so loudly WHILE making it. he was sniffling the entire time I was there and probably shouldn’t have been preparing food if that sick. I was disgusted and wanted to leave even before putting in my order, just due to how hot and smelly it was that day in there. Last, we were the ONLY table there and yet our server barely came to fill our water glasses. Sushi is salty! Water is a necessity!

Yikes. Let me preface this review by saying we ordered on New Years Eve. So I expected SOME level of chaos. But any good Chinese/Japanese restaurant should be well-staffed and prepared for the New Years Eve rush. We put in our order at around 7:15 and were told it would be about 1.5 hours, which I sort of expected. We walked into a scenario of young kids managing the front of the house(I would say 18 or under), calling out numbers for pick-up orders and no one was responding. They seemed so unorganized. When we approached the desk, the girl at the register was on the phone taking an order, seemed confused, said«um, hold on» and went to hand the phone to another kid(without putting it on mute or anything) and said«can you give him a total and time?» to which the other kid took the phone and said«we can call you back with a total.» They hung up and, while surrounded by other customers, said«tell him it’ll take 5 hours, HAHAHAHAHA!» Really? That’s how you treat customers when they can’t hear you? Then someone finally looked up at us and said«are you being helped yet?» Obviously not… So the young girl proceeded to ask me for my order number. Um, what? «I wasn’t given one.» She rolled her eyes. Really? Then asked for my phone number and started sorting through the 8 take-out bags on the counter(which clearly didn’t belong to anyone currently waiting for their orders because the staff was all jacked up). Then she said, «I guess it isn’t ready yet». Okay, it’s now 8:50, so it’s been an hour and half. We waited for about another 10 minutes and got our food and left. Fast forward to getting home, we opened the bag and there was an error with one of our rolls, I specifically asked for no roe and there it was, gleaming orange all over my california roll. So I called the restaurant back and the girl answered, I explained the situation. She said, «Oh, sorry about that, hang on just a second» handed the phone to the other kid(again) and he answered asking what the problem was. She couldn’t even explain it to him, I had to repeat myself. He said«would you like a credit on your receipt or would you like us to make you another?» I wanted my sushi so I obviously opted for the latter. He responded«okay, we’ll have that ready for you in just a minute.» We get back in the car, go back to the restuarant, walk in and it’s a whole new group of staff, now all adults. The young girl and guy are no where to be found. They ask if they can help me, I told them I just called and am waiting for a remake of my California roll. They all looked confused. Come on, now. So I explain again, and one of them goes to the sushi chef and asks him and he shakes his head, never made it. URGH! So now we’re waiting for them to make it. As we’re waiting, there are two women waiting for an order also. I hear one of them call over an employee, receipt in hand and proceeds to say something to the extent of «this is the third time I’ve come here and all three times, there have been issues with my order.» In my head I’m thinking, «why would you come back after the first?!» Then we watched another young employee rush by an empty table, knock over a bottle of soy sauce onto the table and tablecloth, uprighted the bottle and kept on walking to get a pen to take another table’s order. Never even cleaned up the mess. Good grief. Finally our corrected roll is finished, we took it, and left. My husband then overheard one of the older employees ask another«Did they pay for that?» This place is a class act. And on top of everything, the sushi was flavorless, the rice was mushy, and the edamame was overcooked and way undersalted. We won’t be going back.

Portions were small and nothing extraordinary. The server was not very friendly but overall service was okay. But very strange atmosphere. There was strange music, a creepy older man in the corner, and tv shows about 9⁄11 going on. But if youre not big on atmosphere than its an alright place to go.

So far SOAWESOME, we’ve eaten their food several times. The food and service is excellent & fast. The food is always fresh and steaming hot. We try something different everytime, my favs L8&L19. The sides are invidually packed so its not all crowded in one box. A co-worker love the lunch box(sushi) & sushi. Prices are great and no skimping on the food. You wont be disappointed with this place.

Was over at Honda North paying for my new car when I realized how late it was and decided to grab a bite with my daughter before heading home. We ordered a miso soup, salt & pepper chicken wings, and yang chow fried rice. The miso soup fell short, with too much seaweed and a very bland dashi. The chicken wings were cooked very well with salt, garlic and peppers. The yang chow fried rice was one of the best I’ve had in a suburban chinese joint in a long time. If my son was with me, we would have tried the sushi. but my daughter is not as big an eater, so we played it safe. I will be going back often, well at least every 5000 miles for oil changes :)

five full stars for the amazing sushi! hand rolled, spicy, fresh and so delicious I crave them. The last star is the pace it took our sushi chef to prepare our food. at least 30 minutes. Now it was awesome… but there was only one other table waiting to be served. The awesomeness of the flavor and freshness are worth the trip, I just wonder when its full how long it will take. Go there

I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews because I went here for lunch after a cut at Salon Oasis next door and I love the sushi. I agree the person who took my order could have been a little more friendly. I changed my mind and decided to eat there, even though the place was completely empty, but I just got a sense that I annoyed him when I said I’ll eat there instead. But, who knows, maybe I was just being paranoid. I ended up getting spicy tuna, shrimp, and salmon & avocado sushi and the rice was soft and just overall very fresh. I’ll give the guy the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was having a bad day but it really didn’t bother me once I started eating that delicious sushi! I’ll definitely return to get sushi here next time I’m in the area.

I’m glad I happened upon Iron Chef! I moved to Beverly 2 years ago and, until today, my search for decent Chinese food on the North Shore had been unfruitful. I’ve eaten at about 5 local Chinese restaurants and none, imho, have been worth returning to. But… lo-and-behold! Tucked neatly into a little nondescript roadside plaza, I FINALLY had me some good Chinese food! Yay! Listen, I admit I’m no connoisseur, but I’ve been eating Chinese food on a regular basis my whole life… in the suburbs, in the boonies, in Chinatowns around the country… and I’m not referring to whether the food is «traditional» or «Americanized» or whatever… All I’m saying is that the food we got tonight was good quality and very tasty. Also, the dining room was clean and smelled very good. This place is *not* a dive. I’ll definitely be going back for more moo shu soon.

a place that serves sushi and chinese food? i am always a bit skeptical. i came here for a light dinner following a maple sugaring tour event a few miles north. the place was fairly reasonable price and food quality wise. for dinner, my three friends and i ate pan-asian food — one ordered thai curry, another the sashimi plate, and i split the shumai appetizer and sweet n sour eggplant with another friend. The eggplant was tasty and addictive, but the shumais may have been frozen food. Oh well, for our purpose of satisfying immediate hunger, Iron Chef did just that.

Ambiance 2, Service 4, Food 4, Value 5 You know… the place isn’t really set up for a great«dining experience» but it’s Chinese… par for the course people. Focusing on the food; it’s tasty, light and good quality. They offer a wide variety of choices and the portions are more than you can finish. My recommendation: Do take out, you won’t be disappointed.
