I love coming here in the summer time! We always sit out on the patio around the fire and the drinks are great! The staff is really nice and we always meet great people when we go there. Definitely recommend this place!

Nice place for a casual hang out while watching live music. Food is ok, a little on the heavy side.

The Gaelic salad is amazing!!! I add shredded carrots and cucumbers. I seriously can’t get enough.

Good food, but absolutely TERRIBLE service. We have been there twice, on Saturdays, and had the same waitress each time. I think her name was Kendra, long brown hair. She has a terrible attitude and she was never around. I could hardly justify a 10% tip.

Good & bad. Good: you can sit outside & smoke in in a chill space & atmosphere. Sunday evenings: great servers. Friday: I couldn’t get anyone to take my order. Walked around to find a server but everyone was ‘off’. So I went to the & bar even after she said ‘yes, we’re still serving food’, ignored me and never came over to take it. However, when my fiancé walked up, she immediately took his order. Sad little twits working tonight. But if you happen to go when Tanita is working, you’ll have a great night.

We come here whenever Jimi James and Byron are playing. Those guys are quite talented and very entertaining!

A lovely person assisted us at the restaurant, her name is Amanda. She was so kind, courteous, enthusiastic and very accommodating. I just want to thank you for a lovel employee.

Great atmosphere! Live music, big screen tv’s, great food! This place isa lot of fun!

Hennessy’s is the place to go if you’re looking for good draft beers and food, it’s a great laid back environment. My server Amber was amazing, she was so nice and dealt with all our needs even though she was pretty busy. She really knew what she was doing. Definitely will be back because of Amber’s service and the good food and drinks.

Hello, everyone
My friend, Jon, was attacked and almost killed on December 16
at 9pm. A young man — who was escorted by the security guard out of the bar and restaurant
when they heard the attack, and caught on camera actually brutalizing him — attacked Jon, broke his nose, dislocated his jaw, broke 2 teeth, and gave him multiple contusions to the head and neck… all in 30 seconds. Jon is 61 years old… this kid was in his 20’s…6 foot 1, thin, brown hair.
The young man was later reported to be coming down off of Crystal Meth.
Jon was rushed to Mission Hospital of Laguna Beach… where he spent the night to examine and x ray him.
Jon had to follow up next day, at Hoag Memorial, to get drugs for pain, and bacterial infection for the wounds.
Jon is in the process of contacting the Victim Witness Protection Society of Orange County… filing his police report, with the Dana Point Police, and going to Newport Harbor Court to begin the process of filing the criminal and civil charges against the young man.

Decent place to grab a drink and socialize with your friends. The food is good for what you would expect from a bar.
This is my go to place to start a night out with my friends and grab some drinks. Prices are reasonable and the bartenders are friendly.
The food is good, but I usually just get it when I’m drinking (The Irish nachos are the best!) came here for brunch today with my friends and ordered a really good vegetarian omelette. Subbed in egg whites for the regular scrambled eggs.
For the price it’s what you would expect. Atmosphere is a typical «local joint». Parking can be kind a rough but we’ve never had an issue.

Came on a Wednesday night, almost every seat at the bar was full but nobody was at the tables.
Since we had 6 people we decided to get a table. Or server was very nice and they had a guy playing live ukelelye (how cool!). Food was okay, its bar food so they have things like wings, fries, and burgers.
They card everyone here, even if you are over 50 they will card you at the door so make sure you bring your ID!

I really like going to this place, especially the outside bar. The only downside is you are probably going to stink from all the smokers around you.

I don’t know why I wasn’t aware that Hennessey’s served breakfast. It says so right on their sign. I guess I always think of them as a late-​night drink stop. But, yes, they have breakfast and it’s decent. It’s not easy to find a breakfast place that 1) serves booze, and 2) allows dogs. They checked both those boxes, which is why they get the A-​OK rating. The food is really nothing special. I got the veggie omelet, which came with toast and potatoes. The omelet was kind of bland, but it did include lots of vegetables, which you wouldn’t expect from a place that has last night’s half-​finished drinks sitting on the table next to you. I’d recommend coming here when you’re hungover. You’ll get the necessary grease for a proper recovery, along with some hair of the dog, and you’ll be too out of it to care that the food isn’t the best. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Best place for a Saturday afternoon Chris Cram singing live. Food music and atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing Saturday afternoon. I just moved to the area. This is such a fun place to be!

This place isn’t the same without the fish bucket. My waitress last time is the only reason I gave any stars. Their liquor selection is minimal!!! If you aren’t good with drinking well alcohol or bad scotch you need to go somewhere else.

Five stars for Hennessey’s in Dana Point? I know, I know, but hear me out.
When you’re finally sick and tired of everyone else’s Taco Tuesday, you can come here for Two Timin’ Tuesday when they have all-​day two for one burgers. I think that’s a pretty good deal. Think the best birthday value is a free Denny’s breakfast? Hennessey’s will give you a free dinner on your birthday week!
Yes, it’s regular no fuss bar food; chicken wings, fries, nachos and the like, but what I really enjoy about this place and keeps me coming back is the service. Tanita in the patio bar always remembers my favorite drink order. I practically don’t even have to ask her for my regular pint of Guinness. Homegirl just sees me and knows. She’s always got a great camping or hiking story and she’s an all around chill person to have in your presence. So, Tanita, this five star review is actually for you. You are what’s good about HT in DP. I hope your boss reads these reviews because it’s really the little things that will keep people coming back. Thank you, and I’ll see you this weekend!

Went to watch a rugby game with my friend. Unfortunately we got to the bar at 9am and asked the bartender if they were playing the tournament. The first thing she said was «No.» And then «How about you help me out and tell me what channel it’s on?» Super snarky…
Like bro, you’re an Irish pub and you don’t know when your tournaments are? Then we told her the channel and she laughed at us and was like «No.»
Then she tossed some menus at us and asked if we wanted to eat.? Who does that?
We drove to The Harp in Newport/​Costa Mesa
Cool location and I’m sentimental about the place because I met my partner here. But when we want to go out for drinks, (We live two blocks away) I skip this place because I’ve never met a nice bartender/​server here.

The short and sweet:
The Good:
Lots of available seating for 7 at lunchtime
Large restaurant
You can watch TV if your lunch partners are boring
They have fish & chips and shepherds pie! My pie was quite good and those who nibbled on the fish and chips said their meals were quite tasty.
The Bad:
It’s an older restaurant that seems to be showing it’s age. The interior looks a little tired but maybe that’s because of the abuse from drunkards during the weekend.
The Ugly:
Even though there weren’t many patrons at noon, it took FOREVER to get our food and check. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you are limited on time.

Food: I came here on a Monday evening after work to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I got there super early in time for some of the happy hour appetizers. I wasn’t interested in the cheap beers, so I stuck with Guinness, my go to beer, while waiting for my friend to show up. I also tried their Meatball Sliders and Blackened Crab & Fish Cakes. They were both pretty decent. When my friend showed up, I ate with her and her family. I ordered the Dublin Burger. It came with fries. That was a great burger! I would definitely try out their other burgers if I ever come back down here.
Service: Service was pretty good. Other servers will check up on you if it even remotely looks like nobody had been helping you.
Location: Parking was pretty decent, but I was there on a Monday evening. Not sure how packed the parking lot would be on a busier night or weekend. I’m sure there are nearby street parking if the lot gets full.
