This gangs of criminals should be named Ripoff Squad I bought two items from best buy after reassurance that Best Buy installers team would come to my home and install these items. After waiting two weeks to have installation appointment I receive a confirmation call, telling me that they don’t do installation only running wires. We paid $ 400 to have complete installation not half ass job. When I ask geek squad who will do the rest their answer was I need to find and hire someone else to finish incomplete installation. I don’t think so how about take everything back to the store and refund installation fee. If you can’t install don’t bother to sell and promise to install.

Geek Squad and Best Buy are the same company. The Geeks however carry a total different attitude than their counterpart — the sales team inside the BB store. These guys did the job but the attitudes frustrated you! When the Best Buy folks first helped me to sort out my computer purchase, they were advised by the Geeks that with a(hefty) fee they can take care of my old drive data transfer and new program download all within the same day. After making the purchase at the Best Buy ends and as I was meeting with the Geek folks, immediately they were postponding the pick up time until the next morning. When the following morning came, the individual from the a.m. shift would not care to estimate the possible pick up time while demonstrated zero sympathy for my inconvenient. That evening, I finally got the call for pick up and when I ran into difficulties in setting up the new computer. I called them and made inquiries on the stucked matters. The gal there shown no sign of helpfulness. Neither was she in the mood to ask smart questions over the phone in hope for solutions or suggested for me to consult with someone else in the department. All I heard was a generic tone suggesting me to drag the whole thing back the next business day. In short, these Geek folks knew their stuffs and did what is asked. Their poor attitudes however, are simply signaling NOTTOEXPECTMORE!

THEIRIN-HOMETVREPAIRSERVICEIS A JOKE… I have a Westinghouse 37″ TV that has no picture at all after just 5 months. Screen is totally black although you can hear the sound of the program. I qualified for in-home repair service under the manufacturer’s warranty. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to call Geek Squad because of their contract with Westinghouse on the warranty. I called for an appt and earliest date available was to wait 5 days. I explained to the rep about the problem, TV has no picture(screen totally blank). Appt day came and technician arrived within the 2-hour window. He knew the problem was about replacing the board and power supply cord but yet came in only to get the Version # located on the back of the TV and had to order the parts. They could have ask for that number when I called for the appt and they could have ordered the parts ahead of time. Now I have to wait another 5 days for the parts to arrive and set another day for technician to actually fix the problem.

I bought a router at BestBuy and got the hardsell to have Geeksquad to the install — pre paid for this service — next appt was about 2 weeks out. Scheduled the appt and took that morning off work for Monday June 6th8am to 12 noon. About 10 am I got a call that they would not be able to make it because they were over booked, but they would call me back. It is now Wed and still no one has called me back. I called their 800 # I am now on hold with an «agent» who is trying to schedule me — she has had me on hold for 30 mins trying to figure this out and she still cannot find anything sooner than 2 weeks from now. Honestly I don’t trust that if I make an appt anyone will show up and I am pissed that I had to prepay this service and I am not getting any phone calls back from a supervisor or more importantly that they did not honor their contract with a pre paid customer.
