After a 3 hour workout, I needed to replenish with a quick meal so I can get my taxes done in the same shopping plaza. Dining area was okay, has televisions; nothing fancy. Friendly service. Had to try the curry ’cause you know what they say, «…if the curry ain’t good, then the place ain’t good either…» Can you tell? I like curries. They cook everything fresh off the pans, so the food came out piping hot. Plates come with basmati rice; nothing special there too. It kind of tasted like it wasn’t washed enough before they cooked it. The dish was pretty good, with big chunks of chicken and the heat of the spicyness was perfect. They have different types of naan. I had the garlic ’cause I love garlic too. This place is right for a quick good meal if you like indian food and curries. Will have to update my review later after I try the other dishes. They had lots of pakora options, fish, veggie plates and tandoori. Kind of pricey but reasonable.

This is my go-to restaurant for Indian food. The food is fresh and delicious and some of the dishes(ones I have tried) are pretty authentic. It’s no frills good food!

When you take an order and say 20 minutes but mean 40… You should probably inform your customer. And it might be a good idea to either create a better to-go system or stop offering it all together. Either way I’m not coming back. Missing Tandori oven that’s for damn sure.

We have eaten $$$$ indian food, we have eaten tenderloin indian food, we have eaten good indian food, we have almost eaten bug ridden indian food… of all the indian food, THISPLACE rates best of all. Amazing blended beautiful flavors, perfect samosas, perfect sauces, perfect paneer, its really the best. And in Westlake!!! They deliver too. To top, quick style delivery.

For a recent immigrant from India, when the pangs of authentic(not just a few pieces of food swimming in oil) Punjabi food take over, I depend on Five Rivers to cure me! Don’t let their humble setting fool you. The food is good quality, good amount and taste closest to the real deal I have had. Their new lunch deal for $ 5 is pretty good too! The staff is friendly and I sometimes feel like I am in India in a ‘Dhabha’(roadside no frill eatery) hearing them talk to each other in Punjabi and Hindi. The zeera lassi is amazing and my(gringo) boyfriend dies for the mango lassi. Give it a try, will not dissapoint!

The food is awful. And that’s coming from someone who is an Indian who loves Indian food. The curries are extremely oily and the bread was burned. And I had diarrhea for days after. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the lamb korma. Buyer beware! They also have terrible customer service. They don’t staff anyone who can speak proper English, and as such, complaining is simply a fruitless endeavor. Good luck getting someone to listen to your complaint. They simply choose to argue and create a scene instead of accepting their mistake. 0⁄5 stars, would not recommend. There are plenty of amazing Indian restaurants in the Bay Area.

Delivery review. Hi Unilocal my name is Doug and I’m a lazy turd. I ordered delivery from this place despite living across the street. It’s like a 5 minute walk, but who wants to put on pants? Ordered three items, naan, and rice. Standard Indian food, good mix of spices. You may want to ask them to up the spiciness if you don’t have gringo tongue. My order arrived in 45 minutes. The portions were halfway between standard and generous. Standerous. ***Free rice with the orders, and they give a lot. I ordered rice so I had a lot of rice.

We ordered the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and garlic naan. Overall, a below average meal as the chicken in the tikka masala, rice, and garlic naan were all extremely dry. The saag paneer and tikka masala had good flavors and the meal could be easily improved if butter was added to the naan and the chicken/rice aren’t overcooked.

I’m surprised the reviews aren’t better. I am so glad to discover this place– don’t know as many good Indian restaurants nearby as I did when I lived in SoCal. We have eaten here twice, and the food is superb. The chicken korma– one of our usual go-to’s– was my husband’s favorite, and we tried a couple of newish dishes as well. We went for a later dinner, and lunch last time, I think.

5 stars of friendly service, ambiance & authenticity. I love the chicken tikka which came with a sauce. They give you quite a bit for $ 11& change. The chicken is tender & juicy! Overall, I highly recommend Five Rivers Indian Restaurant in Daly City’s Westlake Mall.

Pretty disappointed with this place. I came here because I bought a gift certificate. Service was great. They were really nice and helpful. Place is pretty spacious as well and cleanliness is at its best. Ordered the Fish Tikka Masala($ 12.95), Garlic Naan($ 2.95), and Junction E-mix($ 9.95). When the entrees came, I was blown away by their small portions. They were small bowl sizes. Now, if I’m going to pay $ 10+, I expected the portions to be at least a medium size bowl. The tikka masala was good. Has a little kick to it. The fish tikka masala has salmon in it and was cooked nicely. Garlic naan tasted great as well. The Junction E-mix was all vegetables. I think I was missing a cauliflower… Regardless, small portions for the price paid. It’s good but I rather pay the same price for a bigger portion elsewhere…

Sunday afternoon I was really lazy and in the mood for Indian. So i ordered through Eat24. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma. I loveeeee Chicken Tikka Masala and what I expected is what I got, it was delish! My GF ordered Lamb Korma, I didn’t taste it bc I don’t like lamb but she loved it. We also ordered a side of samosa they were pretty good too if you like potato stuff and an order of Chicken Biryani. Everything was pretty good and fast delivery. The only reason why I give this rate 4 stars b/c the portion of the main dishes are pretty small and the price is a little pricey.

This is semi my first Indian restaurant so here goes. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious!!! The only and probably crucial downside was the tendon I found. I did NOT expect to chew on tendon/cartilage. I appreciate restaurants who use quality meats, or cut up their meats with the best quality and intention in mind. This was not a one time occurrence either, so I figured it needed to be mentioned. There are also four level of spiciness to choose from, I thought that was neat. Very spicy, spicy, medium, and mild. Spicy for me and mild for the bf! Overall: 1. I will come back! 2. The butter chicken is AMAZING, a must try. 3. If there weren’t any tendon pieces in the butter chicken, I would have given this another star! 4. Nice and friendly people.

A small restaurant that can easily accommodate 30 patrons(8 booths and 8 tables for 2), not a date night type of place. Open kitchen right at the entrance, much like a fast food place except your food is prepared freshly. Food is prepared swiftly by Indian cooks with a smile(see my photos). My review is based on my take-out order. Order was ready in twenty minutes. What I ordered: RAITA — Yummy and well portioned SAAGPANEER — No complaints here. Spinach and cheese. CHICKENTIKKAMASALA– Sauce with ample pieces of meat. Chicken was on the dry side GARLICNAAN — Fresh chopped garlic that smells amazing. Taste is better when eaten immediately. The bread does not have crisp edges. Good to quickly quench your Indian food craving. What you need to know: — Parking is in the plaza — You can book a Reservation via Unilocal — Check-in on Unilocal for 10% off an entrée

Five Rivers Indian Cuisine has replaced Tandoori Oven at the Westlake mall, near Walgreens. Same dining room layout and open kitchen setup(with 2 tandoori ovens), the walls are painted with a brick color paint covering the previous yellow walls. The somewhat tacky white board of handwritten specials is gone. Similar menu items(no wraps) and similar prices, just different business name. And like it’s predecessor, so far the place was nearly empty, whenever I walked by. The only place that’s packed all the time day and night, is the recently renovated Starbucks on the corner. The Grand Opening sign hasn’t attracted any crowds. A sharp contrast to the dinner crowd that gathers at Blue Line Pizza, which opened late last year on the other side of the mall. It’s the only Indian restaurant in Daly City. So something is better than nothing. My brother got a takeout order of butter chicken or tikka masala, not sure which, I only got to eat half of the naan bread dipped in some of the sauce. The bread was good and fresh. The sauce tasted average, not bad but not great. So for now just 3 stars. I’ll revise after I try other dishes in the menu. Most appetizers, all breads(naan), and all desserts are under $ 5, and all entrees are $ 10-$ 14. The sign says lunch specials, but I didn’t see any. There’s online ordering and free delivery available within the area. Hours: daily 11am-10pm

Fresh and new Indian Cuisine for Daly City, a must try!!! I was able to sample 3 items the prawn biryani, chicken tikka masala, and the lamb vindaloo, lets just say eat dish had their own personalities. Here is the break down and my recommendation, the Chicken Tikka Masala was heavy, full thick creamy yellow sauce, slight kick even for me, large chunks of chicken and portion wise was also heavy one order and it was enough to feed 2 people The Lamb Vindaloo was also delicious, super dark red sauce, heavy and portion was also decent, lamb tender enough to cut with a plastic spoon, for me spicy but it was good that I kept getting more, a little oily but still delicious, when you finish all your rice, use your naan bread to suck up the last of all the sauce on your plate, yep it is that good! The Prawn Biryani was decent, not spicy, more of a standard plate you order to suck up all the sauces and leftovers, the prawns were huge, not the tiny shrimp I am use to at other indian restaurants, actual full sized prawns garlic naan was also good standard in size super diced garlic you can actually taste and feel when you pick it up Their Grand Opening was today 1-11-2015 I am pretty sure I will be back to try their version of their lamb tandoori, khopra e chicken, and several other dishes food **** price $$ service **** ambiance *** not fully decorated yet, but the food speaks for itself
