Winsted at White Rock Lake Apartments

I moved here in Dec 2013 and love it! Extremely quiet with friendly staff and residents. As a single female, I’ve always felt very safe here. My apartment was newly updated when I moved in, I love the layout and since this place was originally condos they have a lot of unique floor plans to choose from. The walls are not thin at all here which is more than I can say for my last apartment! I love my tiny balcony that looks over the tree tops. Parking is never an issue for me and of course being across the street from White Rock Lake is great bonus! The rates are very reasonable here at Winsted.
The only thing I wish this apartment had was elevators! I’m on the .3^rd floor. I’m fit but it’s a beating carrying a lot of groceries or when my dog decides she’s not in the mood for stairs so I have to carry her. :-)
I love being in Lakewood and down the street from Casa Linda. I grew up in this area so it’s nice to be back!

I have lived here for almost a year (moved in Aug 2014). I absolutely love it! It’s super dog friendly, which might be a downside if you don’t have a dog or like dogs a lot. The pool is really great too. As a 20 year old female, safety is really important to me and I always feel safe at these apartments. One of the best things is the location. If you walk across the street you are literally walking on the white rock lack trails! I love Lakewood, but you are also really close to downtown & it’s a really easy drive to BUMC!

My husband lived here for a year (we moved out because we bought a place). We never had any issues and enjoyed the activities in the complex. There are some people who have lived there since the 90s. I like that there are no breed restrictions, though I wish that the heathens who don’t pick up after their dogs would do so! Gross!
The rates are good and the units are pretty updated too. I love the patio areas — great for grilling in the summer!
I would like to address one very specific resident: the guy with the black Audi who ALWAYS double parks over two compact spots. You, sir, are an asshole. A hopelessly self absorbed asshole. You are the worst person in the complex and I hate you. Your precious car can fit in one of those spots. You don’t need two. Nobody wants to hit your car either because (1) nobody wants to ding their own vehicle and (2) they’re scared of your overt asshole-​ness rubbing off. There is limited covered parking and you seem to think that you’re entitled to two of the spaces. People have left you notes, but you ignore them. I wish that one of those people who don’t pick up after their dog would do so just to smear it on your car. Go to hell.
