West End Event Center

So disappointing. Had such high hopes!
We had our wedding reception here a few weeks back and we were promised the moon as far as setup, convenience, service, cleanliness, etc.
We went to check on the venue 4 different times in the months leading up to the wedding and each time it looked like a bomb had gone off inside from a party that had happened earlier and just never got cleaned up. We were assured each time that it would be cleaned spotless before our event.
We were also told from the time we booked our venue in July that we would be able to come in on Friday night (wedding on saturday) to setup for the reception as long as there wasn’t an event booked. We asked repeatedly and were constantly told we were in the clear and wouldn’t have to change our plans.
Monday the WEEK OF our wedding, our representative informed us we could no longer use the venue friday night because they had booked a party and that we could setup on saturday instead (the day of the wedding…)
We were promised chiavari chairs (written in our contract in July) and were told 3 days before the wedding that they did not have them and we’d have to settle for white folding chairs with a cloth cover instead…(THANKFULLY they scrambled and found some chairs after we told them it was a violation of the contract)
When our team showed up Saturday morning after the party, the venue was not clean as they had promised and our family and friends had to spend the morning scrubbing and building down, setting up tables and chairs, and arranging for the reception.
We had 3 people in wheel chairs and the motorized handicap ramp was broken leaving no handicap access for the building and our family had to team lift people in chairs up the stairs to the entrance. No fire marshall was present or inspected the building, as not only was the building not handicap accessible, but there were tables placed directly in front of both entrances to the building.
The flat screens and projector did not work as they promised they would, and we had to bring in our own sound system for music as their’s also did not work.
Thankfully we have amazing family and friends that still pulled off an amazing evening for us, but they made the impossible, possible. NO thanks whatsoever to the staff of this venue. Sorry to say, I would not recommend this to anyone. It has such potential, but the staff only cares about money and getting people in and out as quickly as possible.
Very disappointing.

Came here for a private party, Nice comfortable room, Cool Bar area. Flat screen TVs. Seemed well kept and not dirty. lavatories was functional. Ideal location right in the heart of downtown Dallas. Would definitely recommend hosting a party here for those to keep it centralized.
