Mike and Jane are the best, most patient instructors. They are extremely efficient and focus on making you comfortable and safe with scuba. If you get to go on a trip with them, all the better. I have watched many instructors at work and these two are the best.

I must admit that I was hesitant when my fiancée said that we were going to go take PADI scuba lesson from a couple in their backyard pool. But it turned out to be the absolute best thing for us! The instructor Mike was so great! Since it was a private lesson he was able to watch each of us do the skills individually. He even took it slow enough so that I was comfortable with the«breathing under water part» because I wasnt so sure I was going to be able to master that without freaking out! We didnt even have to read the book ahead of time, he goes through everything verbally that you need to know & even gives you stories to illustrate why the important things are important! Did I mention that their pool was a warm 92 degrees at all time. Very nice. Mike even worked the classes around our schedule! He was very flexible with the times & dates because he understands that everyone works & not everyone can make a class at 6pm! SO Im sure you are thinking that a private scuba lesson MUST have been more expensive than going to Scuba Toys & taking a class with 20 other people, right? Wrong. It was actually cheaper for us when you consider that those other places make you buy your fins/mask & shoes up front!(before you even decide if you are able to do it or want to do it) Overall it was a wonderful experience & we would HIGHLY recommend everyone learn to scuba dive this way! PS. they also do classes for kids(10 yo & up I think). They were about to start lessons for some kids so the kids could get their Scuba Boy Scouts Badge! lol
