Doing the right thing sure does feel good. And no matter what your religious affiliation, volunteering at the Salvation Army during the holiday season sure does feel like a really good thing. The amount of work that needs to be done to make sure little angels have something under the tree around Christmas is ENORMOUS! Some how, some way… they make it happen here. Every year.
My wife and I have worked several 4 hour shifts here, doing everything from translating, to stacking boxes of goodies, to carrying bags of toys out to vehicles. Its real work… don’t go here thinking you’re going to stand around and get volunteer karma. You have to earn it.
For us this is one of the best places to volunteer your time and to get that old fashion Christmas Spirit.
