The Lakes in The Village

Management and staff are terrible. The apartments are over-​priced. There’s no concept of privacy for the apartments surrounding the lake. They keep increasing the rent every year.

PROS:
1. Jogging trail is literally apartment adjacent. I only need to step outside my door to take a nice walk in a beautifully maintained area.
2. Plenty of parking spaces.
3. Maintenance responds pretty quickly. Usually comes within 24−48hours.
4. Within 5 minutes driving distance to lots of fast food, sit-​down restaurants, Starbucks, yogurt places.
CONS:
1. One of the tenants that shares the community parking lot has a very sensitive car alarm. If someone like this lives in your area, prepare to just deal with it, because the main office nor Smith patrol give a crap.
2. When I moved in, there were nails and splintered pieces of wood all over the apartment. It was obvious that the place had not been vacuumed or cleaned whatsoever before I was given the key. Even the kitchen had spaghetti sauce on the fridge door and on the countertops.
Final say: I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Once I moved out, they didn’t return any of my $ 250 deposit (of course), and they charged me an additional $ 350 in «cleaning fees» and other expenses! I called their main office about the charges, the most outrageous of which was the $ 100+ «cleaning maid» charge. So my apartment wasn’t worth cleaning when I moved in but its worth it for the next tenant? They wouldn’t even tell me exactly what they were cleaning, which makes me feel like the charges were bullshit. They will pull some shady business after you move out.
