We decided to come here for my birthday brunch because they didn’t have a wait and the food did not disappoint! I ordered the eggs Benedict florentine which were amazing! The portions are huge! And service was great, the prices were also very appealing!

Celebrating my birthday and the end of a busy pageant weekend with this gem in Dallas. Terrific food, wonderful atmosphere and the wait staff is ONPOINT! Highly recommend this great pub for atmosphere alone! Next time I’m in Dallas, I’ll be sure to have a visit to Idle Rich again! Thank you!

Best(and most affordable) cheese plate in Dallas. Service is excellent. Outdoor seating is wonderful. I can’t recommend this place enough. When I’m in town(3 – 5 times a year) it’s a must do!

This is the perfect pub atmosphere, where you feel like a regular every time you walk in! Friendly bartenders and servers — shout out to Ryan and Kevin — who know their beers like the back of their hands! Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Good pour in your cocktails, not using jiggers to measure. You can always catch a game on the TV, or listen to the great music pumping throughout. And unlike a lot of Dallas bars, Idle Rich has a bunch of bars to choose from, so you always have a good chance of getting a bar stool. It’s like the cheers of Dallas, lol.

A great Irish pub with a good happy hour. I come here when I’m craving traditional fish and chips with tartar sauce and malt vinegar. They make them with Smithwick’s beer which they also have on tap. Their cheese boards are also surprisingly good and great for sharing, or not! Great outdoor patio and you can take the trolly here if you can’t find parking.

Great beer selections on tap and bottled with good offering of pub food items. Dark, cozy interior is sectioned off into little seating areas just a like a true pub. Service was good and fast. I would recommend this place for a drink and munchies with friends. It’s comfortable for all adult ages.

Great Irish Pub, in the middle of a desert state!!! Servers were the best, drinks were great, food was better, and overall, this place was the epicenter of our weekend, and if Claudia is still with Idle Rich, Idle Rich is blessed to have her=). Perfect burgers, bangors and mash, and anything else we enjoyed was spot-on. We spent the weekend here for a Giants game, and this place was truthfully, Home Base! I had the review in my pending for months, so kudos to Idle Rich Pub, and I can’t wait to return!!!

Oh right, uptown bars. Who can say no? Don’t even think about driving here. Parking is harder than at Times Square and the traffic will have you teary eyed with frustration going .01 miles in 15 minutes. Über. Walk. Bike. Magic Carpet. The best thing about this bar is the music. I really enjoyed dancing to most of the songs. The crowd was not as impressive but definitely better looking and friendlier than the lot over at Renfield and not as ghetto as the Fat Rabbit. Even so, most people came here already coupled up or with their couplie friends and were not that social. One classy guy wearing a monster truck t-shirt slyly whispered that all he could offer are his cock and empty promises. An offer that was indeed hard to walk away from. $ 9 drinks.

My husband and I stayed in Downtown one night and decided to do a little bar hoping to get to know the area, we decided to stop in here to grab a bite to each and a beer. This was by far my favorite place we stopped that night. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was really great. Will be back the next time we stay in Dallas.

Nothing like sitting at the bar and having not 1, but two bartenders walk past without acknowledging you. Might have been 6 other people sitting at the very quiet bar. Set of boobs got much quicker attention. Fish and chips were ok. Nothing to get excited about. Food and service better at Old Monk

Sweet bartender who took the time to recommend some drinks during Saturday night madness. My favorite bar of the night because it wasn’t overly stuffy or crowded, but still felt alive.

I came here Bc I was craving fish and chips. And when I got there it was a typical Irish pub, nice wooden bar and dim lighting. I order the fish and chips. And I have had really good fish and chips in my life. And if done right it’s not hard to cook. I wasn’t very pleased when the fish and chips came out. The chips weren’t fresh and soggy. The fish was soggy as well we’re not crispy at all. I didn’t even finish the plate It’s the only thing I tried so I’m reviewing this place solely on its fish and chips However the bartender was very nice and welcoming. The bartender star rating would be a 4. The fish really brought this place down. Something so easy wasn’t cooked right at all.

Great atmosphere, great location, and any place that serves Magner’s is okay in my book.

I love this place. It’s one of our go-to brunch spots in Dallas. My boyfriend and I have been here a number a times. I’ve also been here on a bar hopping night. I like the atmosphere, I love that they have brunch foods and mimosas. We usually get the $ 7 carafe and breakfast tacos. They are absolutely delicious. I like that they have the soccer games on for Bae. We tried the cheeseboard today with Brie, Salami and the bruder basil. It was so incredibly delicious. The prices are beyond reasonable and the service is amazing. This is most definitely in the rotation for brunching. Coming here for a drink on a weekend night isn’t bad. Overall we enjoy this place a lot!

Nice Irish pub. Food was good. Service kinda slow. In all fairness I was there on a Wednesday night so the ‘scene’ wasn’t anything to write home about. If you’re looking for a place to just hang and talk amongst friends, this won’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a party, look elsewhere(at least on a Wednesday).

Rate between 3 and 4 stars. Convenient location on McKinney. 1.Service on porch area was prompt and friendly on a Saturday afternoon. 2.Good selection for a bar menu. We just tried sliders, and the food was fine.

Came here on a Texas/OU weekend, and for the crazy atmosphere that it was, their wait staff was awesome. We thought we would have to fight to get to the bar but their waitresses worked really hard that evening to come by and make sure that our drinks were always flowing. The music was great too. loved it all.

I have been trying to come here every Sunday as long as I am in town. I usually order the Veggie burger and split pea soup every time and it’s delicious. I have had a lot of veggie burgers(and no I am not a vegetarian) but the one here is my favorite! I order it with soy bacon. It’s delicious! The patty is a perfect size and so is the bun. It usually comes with fries but I order the split pea soup on the side which is also tasty. Tonight I ordered a cheese board and it’s big enough for 2 – 4 people! Lol I went with the board of 5 and got double gypsy salami, five counties, Cotswold and Bruder Basil. They hooked it up! Thumbs up. I enjoy coming here on Sunday’s because Austin works here(bartender) and he is beyond awesome! By now he knows what I am going to order! Brandon is also really nice and professional as well and so this has become by Sunday night spot and I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and the food. Also, I have heard some other guests say great things about their fish and chips. Limited menu items available late night. 11−1am Thursday-1am. It’s Prob a good idea to come in on Sunday’s because they are usually busy on Friday/Saturday. ;) Or come in during the day! :)

Great location on McKinney, huge beer selection, friendly wait staff. What more can you ask for? Recommend the fish and chips or turkey club with steak fries… yum!

Great selection of beer! The bartenders are super cool and not douche baggy. They have a few different bars. We didn’t try the frites with spicy mayo but they sounded amazing. They have a good food selection. Anything and everything, including bubble & squeak. Typical pub atmosphere.

12am on a week night and all the dressed up pretty girls and boys, suspiciously all wearing flesh tones, filled the patio on a cool night. The inside dark wood pub was cricket empty. Which was fine by me, a bit sauced and looking for some greasy grub. The prototype guyish guy bartenders was played so well here, miles away from the patrons post frat aspiration$, with alternately unfixed hair and an attractive blank genuineness, unkept hair and faded Ts. The burger, a bit lifeless and flat, was perhaps more inspired by tired cooks watching the clock, and not as good as I had remembered it. The diamond moment was the question — steak fries or regular? Those steak fries worked some thick fluffy magic, but inebriation does color experience. As time marches on, Idle rich seems a bit less polished, and it seemed sure that the interior was over due for a remodel. McKinney’s dolled up hoochie mama’s might never experience a down renaissance like Austin’s dirty sixth, but soulless playgrounds can occasionally offer some respite in the more down to earth bars of McKinney Avenue like Idle Rich.

Came in on a Saturday night, after hanging out in Downtown Dallas with some friends. The drinks were on point and the DJ kept us moving and singing during our conversations. Thumbs up for their Pimm’s Cup! Ordered the Blue Cheese Fries to nosh on and oh boy. First of all, the cheddar cheese that they throw on top of it makes it a pretty intimidating and heart-clogging looking dish. Do yourself a favor and peel that part back. It’s like a cheese hat that protects everything else. From there you’ll be able to better get to fries laden with crumbly blue cheese and chopped bacon. Then you can cut off a little section of the cheddar cheese with your fork and go to town. The dish is big enough for 4 people to share, so go to town. Plenty of space inside, but stay outside on the patio for good people watching off of McKinney Ave and just a rotating shift of interesting people rolling through.

This was a nice surprise when looking for good fish n chips. The outdoor seating area was great, but there was a smoker in the area so we moved upwind. The service was awesome for lunch and the outside crowd was lite around 1pm. My lunch guest told me its a great after work location to grab a pint. I will be back!

Idle Rich is still my go-to place for a Guinness. Unlike other places, this pub pours and serves the Guinness correctly. They hold the glass at a 45 degree angle and fill it up about 75% of the way. They then let the beer settle before they finish it off and serve it to you. If a place does not poor a Guinness like this, they are doing it incorrectly. In addition to pouring a good beer, this place has recently added a new bar area. On the side of the establishment(facing Jake’s), they have taken out the booths, and added in another full bar. They now have a bar all along the east wall, now the north wall, and one outside near the patio. This means there are less places to sit, but you don’t have to wait as long to get a drink, so I’m all for it.

My favorite uptown pub/bar. I’ve only come for brunch or afternoon for football. I like all the nooks and crannies it has. The first time I came I didn’t even realize there was another bar on the lower level. Brunch isn’t too crowded and the prices are under $ 10 for breakfast $ 7 mimosa carafes dxuring brunch. Good and attentive service at the bar. One star taken away for the one time I had to get a table. Granted it was packed but way too much wondering where the waitress is. The brunch items are above average and the beer selection is quality stuff. Beer prices around $ 5 – 6 for craft beer which isn’t bad. It is loud in here with the sound usually on for local games. This isn’t the place for girl talk or a meeting. Come drink and watch the game.

Location was awesome — right on McKinney in Uptown where all the fun is at. Ambiance was cool. Just like any other typical Irish pub though from my experience. We sat outside on the patio with 65 degree weather, which was fun. Service was good. Quick and on point. Food was okay though. Ordered the fish and chips for $ 12. Came with three decently-sized fried pieces and skinny fries(steak fries were an option). Fish was fresh, but kinda bland(although the tartar sauce helped a little). Same for the fries, which I found myself dumping salt and dipping in ketchup for some added flavor.
