I still love this place! Service was spotty for a short time but it’s so much better now. Everyone who works there is very nice. We got a big group together yesterday and put our name down for an outside table. It was supposed to be ready at 4:30 and it wasn’t. The staff were apologetic and professional, offering us a table inside with the first round of drinks on the house. Once an outside table opened up, we were moved without even asking. Impatience rosé is offered too, score!!!

So disappointing!!! My friend and I walked in last Saturday around 1:00pm and we were sat at a table after waiting and standing around for about 5 minutes after we asked to be sat. Then we got menus and was told our server would be back with waters. Server never came. We waited outside, no water for 25 minutes before i stood up to ask where our waiter was. A young man told me he would get the server. I then sat back down and waited another 10 minutes, NOONE acknowledged me. We ended up getting up and walking away. This is NOT how people should be treated at any restaurant. I normally never write bad reviews but something needs to be done with the servers at this place. Not to mention this is not the firs time that I had crappy service!!!

Best thing about our experience is Zach We sat outside on a chilly day for brunch They sat us where there were no heaters We asked to be moved to warmer area Sat us at a high top near a non-functioning heater We snuck to a low top near a heater and Zach was so sweet about the move… Their menu is all dishes with egg I don’t eat eggs Not everyone likes breakfast at 1pm– the menu should be a little more forgiving for those like me Not EVERYITEM needs a fried egg on it and not every item is good with the egg removed Maybe a little more variety is in order We got the donut holes and the fireball syrup French toast as appetizers Couldn’t taste the fireball and the donut holes w/sauce were too sweet I got the 50⁄50 burger — no egg with lettuce and tomato– came with No tomato My friends got chicken and waffles — good Grilled cheese — ok but marinara and pork roast do not go together– PERIOD My other friend got the chicken Cobb salad Which didn’t come out with everyone else’s food We had to find another server to get it run to our table Not zach’a fault but all food should be delivered at once Asked for extra dressing and took a while to get it Mimosa pitchers are a good deal and the second one was seriously champs-heavy(thanks Zach) And the Bloody Mary with old bay rim was awesome All in all ok brunch Maybe I’ll stick with dinner menu tho

Great service, amazing food, all positive things to say. They have fun games to play, great craft beer selection and atmosphere. It’s a fun, chill place to hang out with friends. I’ve been coming here for a couple of years and it never disappoints. I have recommended it to friends and I will keep coming back. :) thanks common table!

What a great spot. My traveling companion and I stumbled upon The Common Table while looking for a nice dinner out. The Skittles sangria(white) was delicious. And fun. As are the table top s’mores. I love the patio out front, and the fact that it would have been comfortable to eat there in January, however we chose to sit inside. This is the kind of place where I would be a regular if it was in my town. The service was friendly and the chicken pot pie was perfect. Very traditional stew but with some kind of incredible puff pasty on top. If I ever make it back to Dallas I would be excited for another meal here. My friend is gluten and dairy free — which was consistently more of a challenge in Dallas than it is in Denver, but they did their best to give a good recommendation.

I’ve been in Dallas for a long time and I’ve always wanted to stop in here. For some reason I thought this was a fine dining place with just a few tables and a new menu everyday type place. I have no idea what gave me that impression. This is a neighborhood bar with great food — and since I just started working in the neighborhood again it will be in my regular rotation. My wife and I went for dinner, we had a reservation but it wasn’t needed. The patio was crowded but there were plenty of seats inside. We had the Reuben rolls and pretzel bites to start, I had the P.I.G. and she had the chicken and brie wrap for dinner, we shared the smores for dessert. It was a lot of food. And it was all great. I look forward to exploring the menu and checking out the Pour Man’s on Monday nights. The service was good, even though I had low expectations since this is in Uptown. Seriously, why does the service always suck in Uptown? The Common Table is the exception to the rule.

This place used to be awesome. It still has a great beer selection but the music at a recent late night visit was super douche-baggy. Reconsider your choice for a late night night beer.

No matter what this place does, it will probably always get 5 stars from me because it is where I met my husband. Best dish they served and it’s not even on the menu. I asked him what he was drinking. He said I don’t speak English. So over beverage napkins we sort-of played pictionary and occasionally charades until we said I do. I still don’t know if he knows he is married to me ;) Last night we were there celebrating our anniversary. He had a burger that he loved and I had the salmon. Honestly, it was perfect. I tried a hibiscus-infused beer and then the Firestone DBA which were both cold and refreshing. Outside on the patio the OU-Baylor game was on and the fire stands kept us warm. It was really a great experience, as always. I hope this place never closes, changes names or moves. I will sincerely have big crocodile tears. You have to outlive me, Common Table. You hear me?!

How am i just now reviewing The Common Table? This is the crew’s spring/summer brunch staple! Short-rib hash, pitcher of mimosas AND90’s hip-hop coming thru the speakers?! Yes. Yes. YES! Now i will say that the food service IS slow… however everytime we come, we have a crew and are catching up(and drinking up) so we never really notice(I actually didn’t think about it until reading the other reviews). However… we personally love this place!

It’s been a couple years since I last ventured to Common Table. Again, went with friends from out of town but this time for brunch. The place was packed and it was a 45min wait so I had high hopes. Despite being busy the bartenders were friendly and got orders out quick(much better than last time). Finally got seated. The server was also very friendly despite being busy. He told us the kitchen was taking 45mins to push out food so if we were hungry we should order. I’m not a big donut fan but someone at the table ordered some donut holes as an app. They were soft and tasty and everything you expect something to be when covered in cinnamon sugar. However it was the caramel dip that made the dish. I actually held onto the half full ramekin to go with my chicken and waffles. Our food arrived on cue 45mins later. Well… 4 of the 5 of us got our food; the other one had to wait an extra 15mins. From my experience with the chicken and waffles and everyone else’s experiences with their own various brunch dishes we all agreed the food was good and satisfying but there was nothing special or that remarkable about any of it(minus that caramel sauce or a friend who kept raving about their marinara but not the grilled cheese it went with). End of the day I’ll give it 3 stars because while the service was great the food isn’t worth the wait and there’s nothing special about their $ 10 drinks. There are several places in the area I’d rather spend $ 100(for 2) for brunch at…

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. Took 30 minutes to get 3 peoples drinks. Food came out before we even got drinks. Mimosas are pre made. Who pre makes mimosas? Zero bubbles. Absolutely ridiculous. 2 waiters for the whole restaurant. Waiter spilled a drink on another customer. There’s a good chance I will not be coming back here ever. I don’t know how this place is not out of business yet.

I only come here for their weekend brunch and I am never disappointed. Great, hearty and classic brunch food from breakfast sandwiches and fried chicken & waffles to French toast and scrambles. They also have cheap brunch cocktails and pitchers. Great service(taking into consideration how busy they are).

This is a solid place to hang and enjoy a warm day with friends while drinking beer. They have tons to keep you happy. It is still considered a part of uptown. The inside looks nice enough too. And there’s the area to the right side… equally cute! We chose to sit in the long communal table with tall chairs. The shaded area even though you’re outside is a cool respite from the humid atmosphere in Dallas. I ordered their Buffalo Chicken Cracklings. I was told its a new dish. Holy smokes! It was too salty! I told the waitress in good faith so she can pass it on to the chef. I love salt but not salt and a little bit of pork cracklings. The Bavarian Pretzel Bites were very good. I will get this again! Ruben Egg Rolls not bad. With that I ordered an Independence Redbud. 4.2ABV. It reminded me a little bit about my sour beers from back in Cali. I will get this beer again too. although with the many choices they have on tap and others I might opt to try other ones as well. Walking distance from the LeMeridien. Diverse crowd. Cool, chill vibe and awesome staff. I’m a fan!

Don’t let people steer you wrong here guys. I’ve never had a bad experience here the food is fantastic with the beer selection and drinks waay more than up to par. Be reasonable as a human being and you will have a great time here! Live music night is normally fun and chill. Come by for happy hour/weekend pregame or even date night dinner!

Great brunch! Waited almost an hour for a table on a Sunday afternoon, but the food and bloody Mary’s made it well worth it. Friendly staff and upbeat vibe.

The patio on the weekends becomes packed but it’s worth setting up shop. They offer unique eats for any palate. Start w/a cheese tray if your in an European Anatole mood. The beer list is simple but worthy. The vodka infused drinks are subtle yet strong. I recommend the cantaloupe cucumber.

Great lunch spot in uptown! Walking distance from my office so my husband and I frequently meet here for a quick bite to eat! Great ambiance and good service. Turkey. Burger is delicious along with many other items on the menu. Nice outdoor patio as well as a large bar inside. Salads left me a little hungry so I know now to go big or go home. Awesome beer selection as well!

The Common Table hosts some pretty awesome beer events, such as the Founders Tap Takeover and the recent Dogfishtival. Thanks to them I’ve tried some pretty rare and great beers, including Dogfish Head 120 min. IPA and Founders CBS. I’ve never tried their food so my review will be based solely on my experiences at these beer events. Aside from the beer events, I’m not the biggest fan of The Common Table for two main reasons: –Spotty customer service — Honestly, there’s only one bartender that’s great — she’s always enthusiastic and smiley even when it gets super busy. Everyone else is too busy/frantic to provide such customer service. In addition to that, The Common Table NEVER picks up their phone. One time there was a mysterious $ 50 charge on my credit card that I wanted to inquire about, and I tried many times to reach them during business hours — and no luck. I even tried to email them, and no response. –Poor treatment of beer — Because The Common Table hosts great beer events, beer enthusiasts pile in causing the staff to feel rushed. As a beer enthusiast, it pains me to see such good beer to be poured into pitchers first then poured into multiple glasses at once. This causes the beer to lose its carbonation, and if the beer has been sitting in the pitcher for a while, the quality of the beer is sacrificed. As a result, the Dogfish Head bitches brew that I got this weekend was not as great as I remembered it(*tears*). I even saw the reverse happen — someone poured the beer back into the pitcher and then of course back into the glass again…(oh, the agony!). Despite all this, I find myself coming back — I can never pass up the opportunity to try rare beers even if they’re not handled properly! Therefore, The Common Table can great improve its restaurant by having a better phone system and customer service, as well as finding a solution to pouring beers efficiently and properly when the demand is high.

I would encourage anyone who had a bad experience years ago to return to The Common Table and let them impress you. This place just soared high on my burger list. It was tender and juicy, a hefty patty of house-ground chuck, brisket and short rib… that you customize. I dressed that baby up with pepperjack and grilled onion… you can add avocado, bacon or a fried egg, too. The bun — i want to say was a lovely buttery brioche which held its integrity through the whole meal while still being very tender. Their kettle chips also deserve applause. They are perfectly cut, not too thick, not too thin, then perfectly cooked, not a bit chewy, and not a bit soggy, and not overcooked or too crunchy. It’s not easy to achieve this — and wowzer, their French Onion Dip is insanely addictive. I almost ate the whole serving alone, which has to be just the most disgustingly unhealthy thing I could have ever done. But I couldn’t stop, and I’m not sorry! One thing I love was the very thoughtful addition of not only a wine pairing with every dish, but also a beer suggestion as well. Which speaks to my husband, the beer drinker and me the wino. I think that for price-point, location, selection, thoughtful menu and execution, this is a wonderful little restaurant which has clearly put forth every effort to prove itself. We’ll be back — well done!

I had a really good experience at Common Table when I came here for dinner with some friends. I ordered the white skittles sangria after seeing all the wonderful reviews about it on Unilocal and was impressed. For dinner I had the Chicken Fried Ribeye and it was excellent. The table next to us ordered the loaded mashed potatoes as a side and it looked simply delicious. Common Table also has an amazing beer/cocktail selection. The service was sub-par. We saw our waitress twice the whole evening and the maître d’ was rude and so I am subtracting a star for the service. Overall, the common table is in a cozy location and the best way to describe it would be cute. It’s looks like it was a craftsman house converted into a bar/restaraunt. The restrooms were also clean. I definitely would go to Common Table again. The best part about this resteraunt is that it’s located 20 feet away from my apartment complex and so it’s very convenient. I actually can’t believe I haven’t come here before.
