Very hard to complain about airline lounges, especially the Admirals Clubs here at DFW since this is one of their major hubs. As usual, checking in is like checking in at a hotel front desk. They look you up and down, check your credentials, and then you’re ushered in. The lounges offer room to stretch out on different kinds of seats, lots of outlets to charge up y our devices, and depending on what time of the day you are here, things like sodas, tea/coffee, light snacks, soups, etc. You’ll find a lot of snoring, passed out exhausted business travelers here and occasionally, I’ve spotted some famous folks.

Micheal behind the bar would make a great flight attendant. Rude and unhelpful. Usually nice to get to the Admirals club and relax before a long flight, he is here to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Such a peaceful way to pass my 3-hour layover after a long flight in from the UK. After zipping through customs(thank you global entry) I was confronted with the cold hard reality of a packed airport. Thankfully flying international first class gives you access to any of the lounges in DWF terminals(A-D). Check in at the front desk, show them your boarding pass, and ride up the elevator to some serious peace and quiet. I’ll admit that compared to the BA lounges in LHR the food and drink pales in comparison. «Flagship dining» is a tiny conference room with a few buffet choices and some free beer/wine — but at least there isn’t a massive line and it’s quiet. Not only better than the airport, better than the large and sometimes crowded lounge that surrounds it. I was also super thankful to take a shower and shave so that I was refreshed for the remaining leg of my flight back home. That alone would probably justify the $ 50 entry fee if you had to pay it directly. On that note, If you’re paying hundreds to be a member they could do a better job of making sure you don’t have to wait in line for drinks or that more than one drink was free with membership. But if you get access because you’re flying international first class, or paid the $ 50 entry fee, you get enough benefit to feel it was justified.

I had a surprisingly good experience here last week. For all of you frequent flyers that did not understand why DFW didn’t have a flagship lounge, the good news is that they recently opened a «Flagship dinning room», I’m not sure what their hours are, neither the food nor the amenities compare to the Flagship lounges in ORD or JFK, but they have the best chicken enchilada soup I’ve ever had! I spent there almost a day 2 weeks ago, and the«general area» is also ok, they have some free food, which puts them one step above from most admiral lounges that only have trailmix and pretzels.

This lounge is very spacious. It has never felt crowded and offers multiple sitting areas. Even the bar area is pretty quiet and relaxing. All staff I’ve encountered on multiple trips have been friendly and accommodating. Those are the positives. Now the negatives. This lounge is sorely lacking in amenities and cleanliness, two key necessities in a first class lounge. The bathrooms were gross and tables(which include ample charging stations), have been left sticky and cluttered, especially in the bar area. The buffet also leaves a lot to be desired, unless you are all about some stale nuts and rubbery cheese. All in all, decent just for the space and quiet alone, as the Amex lounge can get super crowded and loud. But they need to step up their game when it comes to basic housekeeping and putting out a halfway decent buffet.

People who complain about the AA lounges are just a bunch of whiny, spoiled brats. If you are lucky enough to get access to one of these lounges, CONSIDERYOURSELFLUCKYANDFORTUNATEENOUGHTHATYOUDON’T HAVETOWAITWITHTHEMASSESOFRIFF-RAFFATTHEGATE. They are all spacious, comfy alternatives to the general airport with free WIFI and beverages and snacks. Not to mention the bathrooms are also an upgrade from the public restrooms. Stop bitching and moaning, take a seat and be glad you don’t have to sit next to the smelly dude at the gate farting up a storm.

This is one of the nicer Admirals Clubs, with good shower facilities, comfortable seating and plenty of places to charge your devices However, it still does not come close to the standard that you would expect from a major airline at their flagship hub’s international terminal. So please, temper your expectations if you normally park yourself at Cathay Pacific or Qantas lounges around the world. This review is about the D Gate lounge, but is largely applicable to all of the DFW Admirals Clubs. Being a membership lounge as opposed to an elite or business class lounge, the company running the Admirals Club is out to make a profit — and it shows. Checking in to the lounge off an international flight and being handed a single drink ticket is a bit laughable. The limited complementary food and drink selection leaves much to be desired, unless you have a thing for stale bagels and water(just airplane cups, bottles come at a price). If you want a soda, beer or something more substantial to eat, you have to pull out your wallet… or that drink ticket I mentioned. Although it beats sitting in the gate area, American has a long way to go if it hopes to compete with the other large international airlines.

Admirals club not better than centurion lounge! They both have free drinks, centurion is free GOOD food(admirals charge for their NASTY food. They no longer allow smoking on neither lounges(admirals does on terminal a). I like admirals because it’s easier access if you’re flying domestic flights vs centurion is only on terminal d at dfw but I always get there early and take shuttle because yes, the food is so much better and I like free massages(I think they offer complimentary pedicures too).

This is actually a really solid admirals club located in terminal D in DFW. This is one of the larger lounges that I have been too and it is fully appointed with nearly everything you need to make your stay/layover comfortable. This place is huge and has a fully stocked bar, showers, lounges, tons of chairs, food, family rooms, wifi and so much more. Overall, if you fly American and have access to the lounges, this is a great option in terminal D. Pros– Spacious Cleanliness Amenities Friendly service Bar R&R between flights Cons– Single drink per entry Pricey if not frequent flier

I was very impressed with the amazing showers and the fitness room. It’s large with ample comfortable seating with tons of plugs to charge your laptop or phone. Despite there being free wifi offered all over the airport, it’s a nice little hideaway from all the craziness of the airport to get some work done or surf the web. I’m a little disappointed with the food selection. I’m used to other lounges(not AA) offering a free mini buffet complete with hot meal options served buffet style at any time of day and free unlimited alcohol for everyone who enters whether you’re a member or buy a pass. The rules here are not very clear. If you’re a newbie, ask if your alcohol is included so you’re not stuck with a large bill at the end. Unless you have a long layover, it’s not really worth the price of a day pass. For cardholders, enjoy, just don’t plan on eating a meal here.

The best Admiral’s Club in DFW. Extra large, clean, friendly staff, modern décor… all the amenities you could ask for. Loads of seating/lounging areas, extra long bar, large business center, a closed in smoking room, and even a fitness center! Self serve free food line that includes more than trail mix and preztels — choice of soups, veggies, cheeese, cookies… always fully stacked. Or of course, you can order off menu — fresh made paninis are good. Comp drinks include chard, cab, draft or bottled Coors Light, Bud Light, and all wells. Also, decent selection of craft and import beers for purchase. Should you need one, shower keys are available at the front desk; fluffy towels and all necessary toiletries also available. Scruby dub rub. :) 4.7 stars

«Meh», that was my exact response upon entering this lounge. Having to travel a lot for work I spend a good Amount of time in lounges and some of them let you leave feeling like your a little bit special. AA lounges don’t. Uninspiring decoration, no food only snacks(and not very good snacks either!!) Limited bar and the most uncomfortable seats I’ve had to sit on. As WiFi is accessible for free throughout the terminals the only advantages are access to power points. Major let down for the One world group.

I decided to buy an admirals club pass today, as I was an hour and a half early for my flight. I arrived thinking«at least I can wait comfortably for the next hour, have a cocktail or two and relax» and it would only cost me $ 50… Wrong. First of all the ladies in the lounge serving drinks failed to tell me that there were free drinks available if you ask for them. And when I ordered a white wine they asked for my card, and I have it up, too embarrassed to ask my it wasn’t «included»… 2 drinks and another $ 30 later after tip, I’ve basically spent $ 80 on a comfortable chair with wifi. When I asked one of the receptionists on the way out, to clear my confusion, she was extremely condescending and said that«I should have known»… Really? Should I? I’m an American Advantage customer and am very loyal to this airline. The service I received today was sub-par and extremely disappointing. Next time I have an hour to kill at the airport I’ll probably opt for a chili’s or a Friday’s because at least the staff in those locations seem honest and friendly… Very disappointing, American…

I really like this place. Of all the terminals, this is probably the nicest. From it’s spacious sitting area. You can see the planes coming and going. And if your gate is below, you can see right when it arrives. They have an area just for kids with Games and TV. It is also enclosed to give them a quiet area :) The bar is full service. It has everything you could want and then some. The menu is light, so don’t plan on having a meal. Great place to stop by before and after a flight.

Cozy little lounge waiting for sore feet, ready to settle the score between vacation & stress. You have arrived so enjoy it, savor it and suck it… up.

This Admirals Club is second biggest in the country. I was told the one in D. C is the biggest. I was very impressed with this one. It is located in Terminal A. You go inside and get checked in. You get to bring up to two guests. It is located upstairs. It is huge. The place has tablets with free internet. It has big screen tvs, a separate room for children, a fitness room, family room and a business center. Did I forget to mention a shower room… yes it does have one. It was so big that I got a little lost. You don’t need to worry about finding a spot to sit because there are plenty everywhere. For breakfast it serves free bagels, muffins, cookies, coffee, orange juice and fruits. The seats here are more comfortable than the ones at the gate. Definitely a great club!

The American Airlines Admirals Club at Dallas Fort Worth terminal A located across from Gate 24 is huge. I love the fact that there is a fitness center with elliptical machine, treadmill, and bicycle machine. The best part is the amazing showers six side jets, and overhead rain shower head and wand. The Dermalogica branded soaps are wonderful. The complimentary food offerings are sparse with only apples and muffins in the morning but there are many items available at the bar for purchase. There is also a business center with PCs and printers available for free use. There are also several separate rooms like to TV rooms, a quiet room with no cell phone usage, a bar, café area, and coffee room areas. An Admirals club membership is $ 500 a year or you may purchase a day pass for $ 50. Members may bring in family members or two traveling partners for free. Membership is definitely recommended.

Showers, bar, espresso, friendly front desk ladies, place to relax before a flight. We were flying to HKG, and spent the preceding 4 hours prior to the flight in AC. Found some comfy chairs right above our gate, and watched our plane get stocked and loaded for the trip over the blue waters of the Pacific. Comfortable chairs, bunch of stations to grab a coffee/water/snacks. Good wifi, and lots to look at. Even little Samsung tablets to play around on. Ohhhh and lots of power outlets! Can never have enough of those. Showers were refreshing. Only had to wait about 20 minutes for one, but once I was inside my little shower room, the scent of the body wash/shampoo/conditioner/lotion just melted away any stress. If you’re not flying international in a premium class, have access with elite status, or have access through a credit card, I highly recommend buying a day pass and sitting in the lounge before your flight. Totally worth it!

American Airlines should prepare better their front desk personnel. I’m a Platinum member in USAir flying international, so I had the right to get into the Admiral Club. I showed my card and boarding pass to the lady and automatically she told that if I was not flying business or first class I couldn’t get in. She was kind of rude like looking at me saying: who told you you can come here? . I explained to her that when USAir was in Star Alliance, I could get in if I was flying international so I thought with One World was the same. You know what she told me?: «…well, Star Alliance is Delta so you shouldn’t even be here», her colleague next to her look at me and repeated the same. After I explained to her about USAir and Star Alliance… then she said: «oh!, let me see your card again». After 15 min… finally she let me in but I finished with a big sour taste as you can imagine. She did not even apologize. Come on!, working in an airline lounge and she did not even know about the difference in the alliances?. Poor poor training. I hope this merge between USAir and AA is not a big mess in customer service.

I give this Admirals Club points for the Eames loungers and ottomans. No midcentury modern furniture lover can resist relaxing in one these chairs. My advice is snag one if you can and allow the stress of your connecting flight to melt away. On my last visit I was given a single drink ticket(this was for a premium beverage, other drinks are free but it’s not entirely clear what’s gratis and what’s not which I find a touch annoying). Only in American lounges have I seen food and drink that guests must pay for. In keeping with that trend, don’t expect to nibble on much more than nuts and cookies without making a purchase. And if you’re going to buy food, why not go to an actual restaurant in the terminal to do it? I prefer to make my own Bloody Mary but here that’s not an option so I handed over my drink ticket to get one at which point the bartender carded me. I’m not sure how common it is to see minors in airport lounges but luckily I was clutching my passport so I handed it over for him to check out. He handed me back a well spiced beverage which I swigged until it was time to catch my next flight. There’s nothing particularly wrong about this lounge but then again there’s nothing so right about it either. Some airport lounges make you feel warm and welcomed, this is not one of them.
