I was in a rush to grab a bite to eat after all the running of errands. It turned out that their system was down for taking credit cards/debit cards and so they just gave me my food for FREE!!! That was totally awesome of them to do so. I offered to pay in cash but they just waved me goodbye.

The food here is heartbreakingly dull. I remember when Taco Bueno used to taste so great. Over time though; I think the ingredients have been compromised and they are using lesser grade components. For this meal, I had a Bueno Chilada platter. It was terrible in every respect… okay, almost every respect. At least it was served hot. But the taste was lacking and just tasted empty. I believe the queso they use for this dish is a lesser grade queso(watered down if you will) and is not as thick or flavorful as the queso you would get in their Mexi Dip and Chips. The rice, as always is disgusting. Taco Bueno insists on serving the nastiest rice. It ‘s puzzling to me why they still serve this rice. This is why I typically stick to the burritos here. I usually have better luck with the combination burritos and the Vegetarian Black Bean Burrito. Both of which ARE good and are a great value, which is why I keep coming back, but I will lay off the platters from here for a while.

This is the closest location to the casa. That’s the only reason I go here. (The Caruth and 75 location is better.) I’m a big Muchaco fan and the ones here just seem old and flavorless. If you compared the above location with this one, You’ll notice that most of the ingredients at the75 location are fresher-tasting. The neighborhood(although I’ve never had problems) can be scetchy. Being from Oak Cliff, this makes my trip there feel a little like home. If you are a Bueno head like me, you’ll go here. If you’ve never had Bueno, go to the 75 and Caruth location. That should be a better first time. peace.
