Bait and Switch — Signed up for a class and they cancelled without any notice. Now getting the run around on refund. Buyer beware! Now off to my credit card company to file a dispute! I’d think twice before ever doing further business with Sur La Table.

Took a cooking class here. The menu was delicious. It was fun cooking and doing all the prep work without having to worry up about cleaning up afterwards. That alone makes it a 5 star experience lol. They had alot of herbs and spices I don’t generally cook with and they were all plucked fresh. The cooking class was great, the food we all created was fantastic. The scallops were made in a lemon butter sauce and you really can’t go wrong with that. The place is a treasure trove of cooking utensils and devices, most of which I have never heard of and cannot pronounce. Cool place!

LOVE this place! I went there for an Artisan Breads class and had an absolute blast! Chef Michelle Medley was awesome, gave as much one on one as she could and was more than willing to guide me after the class on what I should do, use etc. The class was well worth the money, I attended a little workshop on making pizzas(not hands on but only $ 5) which was very helpful too, and got to try the pizzas made. I am definitely returning, I recommend very highly!

Took the knife skills class here and enjoyed it as least as much as the Central Market cooking classes. Instructor Ed was great — patient, informative, helpful and funny. The store itself is great too — tough to leave without buying something, but the prices were more reasonable than I’d expected.

This is a review of the Cooking School, not the store selection, which is great. I wasn’t impressed by the cooking class at all. The class size is small which is nice and the instructor seemed knowledgeable, but for $ 79 it was not worth it. The food wasn’t great, does not motivate me to make these recipes at home. I took a seafood class. After each dish you make, you eat standing up and I felt rushed to eat before the instructor moved on to the next dish. If you want a great cooking class, Central Market(on Lovers and Greenville in Dallas) is the best. The staff there is great, the food is always good, and they serve you wine while cooking and you eat the meal sitting down at the end of class. It is also cheaper(around $ 60 instead of $ 80) and worth it, given it is 30 minutes longer than a Sur La Table class. I won’t be taking another Sur La Table cooking class. I was very disappointment. Waste of money. Could have spent that money at a nice restaurant and enjoyed my meal.

I went to a cooking class here last night, and it was AWESOME. I’d been to one before at Central Market, but Sur La Table takes the cake. Instructor Ed Kernan really knows his stuff and is super helpful. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does. Don’t even get me started on the store itself. As a big baker and frequent new recipe tryer, I could’ve spent hours in there. I can’t wait to go back and spend my whole paycheck. New favorite store.

This place kicks ass. I took a cooking class last night on sauces. Fun hands on learning. You can’t imagine what an ass whip making hollandaise is, but damn it was good. At the end of the class everyone gets to eat what was made, great dinner! Plus you get 15% off of your purchase from the store that night, I picked up a killer knife sharpener and cutting board. Go for the cooking class, it’s a cool experience.
