Don’t go for donuts often. But when we do this is the place we go. The cinnamon rolls are great, as is the lemon filled. The bear claws are giant. Like going here as they fill the donuts when you order them. Price is fair. sometimes a line .but moves fast. The owners are a husband and wife. She runs the counter and he cooks the donuts. She always has a smile on her face.

We enjoy going to this doughnut shop. They have THEBEST cake doughnuts and the owner is so sweet. They are a lot cheaper than their trendy neighbor Hypnotic Doughnuts and we quite often prefer to go to Southern Maid over Hypnotic for the price and the cake doughnuts. Another thing that I like is that they fill the cream/jelly doughnuts on demand. This lends to the authenticity and tastiness. :-)

Not the best donuts, but passable. Customer service is well worth a star and a half. Heed this advice: steer clear of the raspberry filling.

Today my family and I went to get donuts at Southern Maid in Casa Linda. Obviously they are popular due to the line. We didn’t mind the line but as we were standing there my wife pointed out how gross the floor looked after her shoe stuck to it. We then began looking around at the drink coolers and counters and noticed that there was dirt and dust everywhere. The floor looked like it hadn’t been mopped in months. so gross. We won’t be going back again. The dirtiest donut shop I’ve ever seen. The floor looks like it hadn’t been mopped in months… maybe years. And the drink coolers were nasty. Makes me wonder if the kitchen is the same way.

The owners are real sweet. You gotta go early on weekdays, like before 8:00, or there isn’t much left. Donuts are OK.

Definitely not my favorite donut shop in the Casa Linda area but it’s right next door to my dry cleaners and I occasionally stop in and grab breakfast after dropping off some clothes. The owner is a nice husband and wife couple, that don’t speak a lot of english, but take pride in their little shop. The food here is pretty good, I kind of like their kolaches but occasionally they taste very flour-y(if that’s a word?), and it’s odd. Their donuts taste like normal donuts, nothing special. One pet peeve is that almost every time I go their credit card machine takes forever to work, or doesn’t work and so you end up behind several people trying to charge $ 3 because no one carries cash anymore, including me! It’s not a place I would tell people to avoid, but it’s also not one that I would highly recommend. A-OK is a perfect analysis.
