SKYE of Turtle Creek Apartments

I have been at the Skye for almost a year now and have nothing but good things to say about it. The concierge staff has been extremely welcoming and friendly and always finds time to help you out and ask you about your day. Also, the maintenance staff is absolutely stellar. They are the most responsive and capable team I have seen. Additionally, the management team puts on occasional events that are always fun. They do a great job providing a community culture that is inviting and enjoyable.
They’re also currently in the process of remodeling all their amenities (lounge area, pool area, work out facility, etc.) which is going to make this place even better once finished.
The location of this building has got to be one my favorite things about it. It’s right on the trail and a 2 min walk to the Katy trail ice house a 15 min walk to the AAC and if you enjoy going out its about a 10 min walk to Kong fu/​concerte cowboy/​6^th street.
Over all, Greystar and the team here at SKYE have done an excellent job of providing me with a wonderful Dallas home.

We get multiple emails a week about the parking situation. Everyone in the building is so tired of it yet mgmt won’t stop sending them. Today we all got the email twice. The email says this in very large font and underlined:
Please be advised that the Concierge team will not facilitate any courtesy calls prior to removal of improperly parked and on non-​registered vehicles. Instructions for retrieving vehicles can be obtained by contacting South West Auto Tow at 972−247−0045.
I cringe every time I get an email from Greystar. It’s always a threat to tow our cars. Of course the parking problem was created because Mgmt painted «Reserved» on a whole bunch of Available spots, creating no extra space in the garage.
This building used to be great when it was called The Windsor and there was different management. Now, we have lingering problems, like the door leading into the building from the garage which has been slamming for the last 8 months straight. I guess I just feel like management doesn’t care about us. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody anymore.

I can only agree with previous reviews… Parking was horrible and I was towed for just having a tire on the white line. Apartments are OK … if you do not have a car which is kind of difficult in this area.
Also on a side note, I do not recommend subscribing to automatic payment. Otherwise, this unscrupulous landlord may take more than they should in the last months… and could refund you weeks (if not months) down the road and may also short change you…

It’s 4 months later and the SKYE is falling down on me. Brace yourselves, I have LOTS to say.
Parking. What a complete nightmare. I have NEVER dealt with parking situations like this from my place of residence — insane! When I first moved in, I wasn’t made aware of the parking and how strict the towing policy is — how you can’t park even barely over the line regardless of how the vehicle next to you parks — and was towed my FIRST week living here. A month or so ago, my sister stayed 3 nights with me and obtained a green guest parking pass from the concierge. She had to change it daily with an updated one — well, the 2^nd day the concierge wrote the number 6 like a 4, so she was towed for an «out of date pass». Fast forward to this week, I was towed yesterday out of MY RESERVED PARKING SPACE.
Now let’s talk a minute about this «reserved space». 3x I’ve had someone in MY reserved space. The 1^st time, I let the concierge know to NOT tow their car but to let them know not to park there. The 2^nd time, I called the concierge to have them move their car. He called and emailed the resident, the next day — their car was still there. I advised the concierge to tow their car. The concierge CALLED THE TOWING COMPANY and was told HE WAS NOT AUTHORIZED TO REQUEST A TOW. WTF!!! So, a month ago… we had a not-​at-​fault wreck. My car has been in the body shop being repaired for 20 days. I peeled my resident parking sticker off my car and put it on the rental car, as they would CHARGE me $ 100 for a sticker to use while having the rental car — for a STICKER. I got my car back from the body shop yesterday — forgot the parking sticker on the rental car that I returned. I parked my car at 2am in MY RESERVED SPACE and when I left for work at 9am, it was GONE. TOWED.
So explain to me HOW someone can park in MY reserved space and NOT BE TOWED even after being reported 2 days to the front desk — but I don’t even get a courtesy call. The tow company doesn’t even check license plates to see if it’s a resident or not — or if the reserved space matches the car to it. CRAZY.
I have 10 months left on this lease and every day we contemplate just paying the break lease fee to not have to deal with the headaches of parking EVER AGAIN.
You can NEVER invite guests over — there’s NOWHERE FOR THEM TO PARK! The street parking is ALWAYS filled as well as the «open» spaces around the building — because guess what! People park there to access the private entrace to Katy Trail. It’s the biggest pain ever.
Also — the halls look like an old Ramada Inn. When we moved in back in April, we were told renovations would start in May — haven’t seen the FIRST improvement YET. Not in the lobby, halls, nothing. There’s a design board in the lobby that’s been sitting there for months. I’m so over it.
I feel bad for the management here — poor CJ and Judy — they are super nice and have stayed in communication with me. But changes aren’t happening fast enough here. The towing policies haven’t been changed to protect the RESIDENTS and they have allowed Southwest Auto Tow to run rampart and tow without communicating with the front desk. If they are going to allow a tow company on site, they need to have a list of the resident license plates (and check only the cars they don’t see a parking permit sticker on) and to have a list of license plates for each numbered reserved parking space and match those up. That towing company is MAKING A KILLING from our property — I can only imagine the kickback Skye gets as well for GIVING THEM THIS SERVICE.
Don’t rent here — Stay away from this place — we don’t have room for your CARS!!!

As a current multiple year resident, I’m sad to be rating this place so low. This used to be my favorite place to live until Greystar took over last August. I resigned my lease at this building one day before Greystay took over management and conveniently for them, they lost my Windsor lease so I had to resign my lease again under the greystar terms. That wasn’t the greatest first impression. Then the new management never introduced themselves so I have no idea who even works in the office now.
I’m also really getting annoyed by the daily angry emails that management sends to all the residents to yell at us for something that one resident did wrong. Instead, address it with the resident and spare the rest of us the passive aggressiveness.
parking. Oh boy. Parking! Kills me! This building was built with not enough parking for the occupancy. However, this was never really an issue until Greystar decided to take a whole floor away and use it for reserved parking only. Mind you, reserved parking costs $ 75 a month, so that floor sits empty. If you come home later than about 7pm, you won’t get a spot. Also, if your car wheels are even slightly on the line of the spot, YOUR CAR WILL GET TOWED. This just happened to me. My compact car was parked in a corner spot. The spot are so tiny that the truck next to me barely fit. So naturally, I parked over a few inches more so that they could get in their truck and I could avoid a door ding (ps. I get a new one weekly bc the spots are so small). Well, I got towed. Towing is so bad here now that the person behind me at the Rowling company was also from Skye. Probably could have saved me the $ 20 über ride and hitched a ride!
Another thing, the community here used to be so close. Everyone was so friendly and always stopped to talk or help with groceries. Now, it seems they have no standards for screening new applicant. The new residents are all partiers and pot smokers. I hate walking in my hallway bc it always smells like pot… No matter what time it is. This is sad because I can never invite my family member to visit me or come see my place. I have personally reached out to management about this and never even got a response from them. Clearly, they don’t care.
Building Maintenance. Not what it used to be! Curb appeal is great, but once you get inside, it’s junky. Walls are scuffed up in hallways and hallways have lights out.
Please, spare yourself the misery and take my advise. Move somewhere else. It’s not worth the rent!

Things are going downhill with the management at Skye, as a resident we get threatening emails every day. They can’t fix a broken treadmill or printer in a timely manner but will threaten to tow your car for parking on the line. Real nice.

Horrendous customer service and breach of lease contract. I would never recommend anyone to live on this property or any other Greystar property. Windsor was the way to go. The management of this Greystar property is incompetent since the property was sold from Windsor (top in customer service) to Greystar to become Skye of Turtle Creek. I returned on three separate occasions to re-​sign my lease renewal (entering my fourth year of residency) due to errors made by the leasing agent and a «system error» on the lease. The property manager refuses to honor my signed (by myself and the employee) and fully executed lease agreement. I have hired an attorney due the matter since the property has fully reneged on our signed contract and now states that I must re-​sign a lease agreeing to a higher monthly rent (due to the «system error») or I will be forced to enter month-​to-​month rent of close to $ 3,400 monthly. Keep in mind the rental increase is a mere $ 91, and the property manager insists on upping the rental fee rather than accept their mistake and honor a signed contract. The employees do not answer my question asking for legal grounds for breaching the contract nor do they answer other inquiries regarding the matter and refuse to resolve the matter except on their unwavering terms. I have also submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau for which I am awaiting a response and resolution.
