Incredible shop right near everything but not overly crowded on a week morning. By far the best white mocha I’ve ever had. Love the atmosphere and friendly staff, convenient parking, plenty of seating, nice music. My new go-to spot for client meetings.

Great coffee house! They have a list of different coffees and teas including but not limited to Smores Latte, Mocha Latte and Crème Brule(my favorite). Can’t go wrong with any of the coffees! Highly recommended and probably my favorite coffee house in Dallas so far!

I was really excited to find this stand alone coffee shop. I stopped by this morning around 9:30am– no line. But the pastry selection really lacked. The ambiance inside was nice, however there seemed to be only one size drinks and a high price tag $$$ on drinks. With that being said, I ordered the«frost chai” — frozen chai. It was $ 5, and very flavorful. I wouldn’t say I’d rush back, especially with the lack of parking– I was fortunate to get a spot right in front since I was past the rush. I’m sure the reason they stay in business is purely bc of the location and the lack of a Starbucks within walking distance.

Meh. Not great but not terrible. People where friendly but their selection of coffee drinks and other beverages was limited. Serious lack of comfortable seating-there are booths around the exterior but the majority of the seating is hard plastic chairs. Like their beverage selection, their food choices are limited. I also found their prices on the high end but not totally unreasonable.(Lattes are around 5 bucks)

Really cute coffee shop! They really know what they’re doing here, and have a cute little menu which they don’t hurry you through. Also, they carry about 12 varieties of loose leaf tea– 4 of those options being green tea alone. I understand that their baked goods arrive fresh daily as well. There’s a good amount of seating available and you can actually hear yourself talk– worth the visit!

I came here with a gal pal to catch up. We ordered the s’mores latte and crème brûlée latte. I loveeee the presentations of the lattes, they were so cute! And even better was that they both tasted like that actual food. It was a bit sweet, but what do you expect when you’re having a dessert as a drink instead. This place has a nice relaxing vibe and we were able to chat at a table. There were other groups of people chatting and working as well but it was never loud. Great place to catch up with a friend or stop in for a quick cup of coffee!

I hesitate to leave a review after only one visit, but at $ 5 for a very small and underwhelming latte, I unfortunately won’t be back. Let’s focus on the good parts first though, shall we? The staff was friendly! The shop has a lovely atmosphere even though the décor is modern and very uptown-y! I liked the bar seating facing the window even though the seating wasn’t comfy — there was a whole row of us reading our tres retro physical media. ;) And I love a menu with unique offerings like their crème brulee latte — I get bored with a one-size-fits-all Standard Coffee Shop Menu. So if all that was good, why is this just a 3-star review? Well… the latte itself was very bitter and harsh. :(It was *so* close to being good, and I’m hoping that this was a one-time deal. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt that this was just a fluke, maybe normally it’s perfectly pulled espresso! But again… at $ 5 for a small latte, I just can’t. :(

Yes and Yes please! What a beautiful café! I haven’t seen one like this. I found it actually off a few reviews of Unilocal!Glad I made the trip down here. This place is a cool little get away to bring a book/laptop and work, or to bring a couple of friends in and enjoy their teas, coffees, and other sips! In addition if you are hungry they have amazing pastries! Please stop in and treat yourself!

Excellent coffee shop. Nicely decorated and comfortable. There is plenty of seating which is definitely not a given at coffee shops in general. I ordered a triple soy latte. Excellent flavor and a decent price. Husband has pour over, he enjoyed it but said it was not any better than other places. We will go back.

Fresh off the boat from Austin, the land of coffee shops galore, I realized very quickly that the Dallas area is in dire need of coffee shops conducive to getting a day’s worth of studying or reading done. I am VERY picky about where I work or read during the day. Natural lighting only, please, with a side of chill music, ample table space, and delicious pastries. This little gem on McKinney Avenue is wonderful: bright, comfortable(but not TOO comfortable) booth seating, plenty of outlets, a solid green tea latte(strong matcha taste, perfectly light on the sugar). The service is always great, too. And its convenient location allows me to avoid the terrible downtown traffic when I drive up from Plano. Not bad. One warning: if you are not a fan of ginger, don’t talk yourself out of your aversion to it just because the vanilla icing on the $ 3.50 Orange Ginger«Muffin» looks so beautiful and delicious. The ginger is strong with this one. (Go for the chocolate chip sea salt cookie instead! Yum!)

I was in Dallas for a short weekend and somehow managed to make it here twice, as I enjoyed Sip Stir so much the first time. Location was great — only a few blocks off the Katy Trail so it was easy to run here and indulge in treats guilt free! I tried both the pumpkin spice latte(much more spice than pumpkin) and the unique s’mores latte. I was worried that the PSL would be too sweet for me, as I’m not big on syrupy drinks, but this was flavorful without being a huge sugar rush. After trying that first, it gave me confidence that the s’mores latte the next day would follow suit. It sure did, and I probably enjoyed it more than the PSL. The latte is made normally with the s’mores components covering the top, allowing them to slowly melt into your drink(or you can stir them in right away) versus including a bunch of mocha/marshmallow flavoring added directly to the beverage. I tried a blueberry and pistachio donut from the case and both were epic. I was happy to see they carry Hypnotic donuts, which I didn’t have plans to get to due to it being located so far east. Definitely worth the calorie intake for one(or ten). Shop vibe is modern and bright. There were plenty of students working at tables inside on Sunday. With the weather being so nice, I sat outside and would definitely recommend that. Drinks were brought out to the table and it seemed to be spaced out better compared to the interior arrangement. I’ll definitely be back if in the area again.

You know what… I like this coffee shop. The coffee was not too bitter, so it was probably medium-roasted rather than dark-roasted — and I much prefer it this way. So yes, the coffee here is better than Starbucks. They have alternative milks too, including almond milk, which was nice. The atmosphere of the place was airy, with plenty of space, tables and chairs. And I even ordered the croissant, and I have to say it was really good — very buttery, flakey on the outside, and fluffy in the inside — jus right — and it was even warmed up(it was nice I didn’t have to tell them to do that). The only thing is that I think the workers could be a bit more friendlier. And they were going all over the place. When i came in, I had to wait several minutes at the cashier for someone to take up my order while they were talking to each other about some business or customer’s orders. If I was right at the counter waiting for someone, it would have been nice to be acknowledged, and I would even be patient about it — but I wasn’t being acknowledged at all even though they saw me. It’s these little things that could be improved upon that can help the overall experience, especially for other customers that value customer interactions more than I do. If this was improved, maybe I wouldn’t just like this coffee shop. I would LOVE it — but it’s not there yet.

This is a great coffee shop with nice offerings in a good location. Down McKinney Avenue, just steps away from West Village, we stumbled upon this place for an after lunch beverage. We usually enjoy the non-corporate offerings and this place proved a good choice. Full disclosure… not sure if his is a chain or a single shop… but it’s not a huge conglomerate either way. Minimal interior lets you enjoy the beverage and your company. I would recommend for here beverages… they look amazing and have that personal touch. They offer light food choices and free wi-fi. Enjoy!

This is a nice little café on the outer edge of West Village, across the street from North Dallas High School. It has a more sleek, corporate feel than Crooked Tree or Serj, but from what I can tell it’s not a chain. Whenever we visit it’s always full of young professionals and students on their laptops, and the lack of comfortable seating definitely implies that this is a place to work or socialize, not a place to curl up with a book. Nevertheless, I like their décor(simple, sleek tables, walls lined with plush booth benches, a might-or-might-not-be genuine Chihuly adding a splash of color to the back wall). And the staff has been nothing but polite, friendly and helpful. And I also really like their coffee. On my latest visit I ordered off of their«Fall Menu» and tried their Pumpkin Spice Latte. $ 4.50 for a 12 oz cup seemed a little steep, but it was warm and delicious and exactly what I was looking for. I also appreciate their wide variety of sweeteners – it’s one of the only shops where you can find Stevia in the Raw packets. They keep the temperatures pretty cold in there, which is why I felt comfortable ordering a warm drink on a 90 degree day. They always have a nice variety of baked goods in the counter cases, which I’ve never tried but they do seem inviting. Overall, it’s not my favorite coffee shop in Dallas, but I do believe I am a fan.

Drinks(1⁄5): Ordered an iced green tea latte. I can’t say I’m the biggest fan as the green tea is simply matcha powder mixed with an overwhelming amount of milk where all I could end up tasting was milk. There wasn’t really any hint of the green tea. After having it sit for only a few moments, it became clear that the powder was separating and the milk was coagulating, so it made for a pretty unappetizing sight. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? I’ll need to try out the smores latte or crème brûlée latte next time since that seems to be what people are raving about, but I just had a green tea craving today. Atmosphere(3⁄5): Suuuuper cute environment(4 stars!) with a mix of dark wood tables paired with white decorative lawn chairs and plush looking booth seating. Each table is close enough to outlets and wifi speed is pretty decent, so the studying factor is perfect. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place as a work place if you’re looking to take calls since(1) Sip Stir Café is where cell phone reception goes to die, especially if you sit further away from the windows and(2) the brewing is extremely loud in the café, so you may not be able to hear anyone on the phone.(–1 star) Overall, this place was extremely cute, but I was a bit underwhelmed by my drink and couldn’t take most of my calls in my seating area. I guess this a reminder to sit closer to the windows and order a different kind of latte for next time.

Pretty standard coffee place. I dropped in here to chat up with a friend and the place was really nice! I ordered the ever-so-popular Crème Bule latte, which was really good! It’s got a nice layer of torched sugar on top, and a pretty sweet latte drink beneath it. I feel like the drink itself really isn’t THAT special, but it’s good nonetheless and worth the try. My standards for coffee shops are a little high, but Sip Stir meets most of the requirements. Service here is nice, and you have pretty of space for your stuff. I wasn’t here when it’s crowded, so I felt pretty comfortable at my table, but I can see how it can get congested during busy hours.
