Me and all of my friends always love coming back to this place. Everyone that works here is always in such an amazing mood. Food is always delicious. The music is amazing, the wait for a volleyball court to open up is never too bad, and the view of downtown Dallas is breathtaking. Sandbar is in my top 3 of things to do here in Dallas. Thankful for the service provided by this incredible establishment!

Randomly stopped by this place on the way to the State Fair have to give them a 5-star for their very friendly hospitality, craft brews on tap, and some of the best bar food I’ve can remember. The poblano mac and cheese was on point. Saw some people playing volleyball if you are into that but I didn’t partake due to time constraints but ya check this place out if you are near

I love this place! Good place to come with a big group of friends. I don’t know a lot of other options in the DFW to exercise *and* drink at the same time. We are really lucky to have it, such a good location with close proximity to downtown Dallas. I’ve never eaten here but they have decent drinks. Nothing special as far as drinks go, but it’ll do. The attraction here is really the venue, with volleyball courts and sand, a chill vibe with lots of room to roam and hang out.

Well it’s been awhile since I’ve written about this place and as you can imagine, many of the staff members have changed. I still see the girl previously mentioned with the terrible attitude, but haven’t had anymore issues so maybe she was just stressed out being new? Either way all has been well as of late. Alice is by far my favorite(and the rest of my team agrees)! I still think prices are a little high for the type of establishment, but it is what it is. I do have to mention that the food available is better than regular«bar food.» The chicken tenders and taco salad are crowd favorites, the queso not so much for us. It is extremely annoying that they keep sponsoring work bar crawls during the week. People in business clothing are packed in there while the rest of us in leagues are trying to maneuver these people to play our games, retrieve balls, or get service. I really wish they’d make smoking only available in certain areas. Diving in the sand next to cigarette butts isn’t lovely, and it’s not uncommon to find beer cans buried in the sand. Overall it’s been a better year, but Sandbar still has a lot of work to do.

An oasis in DFW, the Sandbar is a neat spot to enjoy the Dallas weather! My biggest complaint is the cigarette butts on the sidelines, along with open beer cans from the night before. The service, however, was good. The ladies running drinks never forgot a face, and they were decently quick. I didn’t get any food, but my friends that ordered burgers enjoyed them. They looked enormous for $ 12.

I’m giving this establishment one star because the concept is unique and I liked the atmosphere with a view of the Dallas skyline. Also, the food tasted good and they had healthy options. The reason my review is lacking 4 stars is because I have never had such bad service in my life. Our waitress let us know it was her second day and being very nice people, we gave her the benefit of the doubt for many things. It started to get a little frustrating when it took 45 minutes for water and then even longer for our alcoholic beverages… Which we had to keep changing because they were out of everything we asked for on their menu. Our server had no knowledge of anything… Anything… And then she kept telling us what a «bitch» the bartender is. She told us the bartender has been serving people pear ciders instead of their requested Angry Orchard because, «They won’t know the difference!» After hours of ridiculousness… Including our server sitting down next to our table and having a cigarette… My boyfriend and I asked for our check. Our server came back 20 minutes later and said, «There is no manager here to take off your Mules(because they were out of Ginger beer and she already put them on our tab) and I asked the bartender to take them off but she said no so…» At this point, we had enough. We walked in and handled our check ourselves. When the bartender said how much we owe, I asked if I could see an itemized receipt of what we are being charged for… She said, «Itemized receipts are hard to print,» and acted like we were really wasting her time. Two seconds later, it printed out like it does easily at every single restaurant or bar and we paid for what we consumed. The atmosphere and food were great but by no means good enough to ever bring us back! We brought 3 other couples with us today and they all feel the exact same way. This was such a disappointment for my only day off…

I cannot say enough great things about this place! First off I will mention that I resisted giving it 5 stars because I have no other place like it to compare it to. In the scheme of things, this is not a big deal at all and in no way would prevent me from returning. I would definitely have to say that this place is best for large get togethers. It is a very social environment and an excellent place to meet new people. The drink selection is swell. Was not able to try the food however. I’m sure there is much more I could say, but all in all I give the Sandbar two thumbs up. Awesome staff and an experience like none else.

This is my new home away from my California home. The atmosphere is unbeatable and the food is delish. Pull up a chair on the patio, watch some volleyball, walk through the sand, and if you can handle heat– I highly recommend the bacon wrapped jalapeños.

Stopped in for lunch while exploring town by bike. Neat concept, six sand volleyball courts and a beach bar vibe with a downtown skyline view through Palm trees. Don’t usually leave reviews but this is a cool place and my fish tacos were delicious. The fruit plate and beach bowl looked worth trying too.

I play sand volleyball with a team every Wednesday. Great place to play some vball and a cool atmosphere. The most surprising thing about this place is the quality of food. The food is probably one of the best I’ve had at a bar. Great atmosphere and great food.

Went for their lunch. Their lunch starts at 11am. We were there at noon. Service was terrible. There were no other customers but us. Their menus had sand all over them. Their tables were sandy or dirty. Whatever it was it was sticky and gross. I ordered a turkey sandwich. It was like I made it myself. Nothing amazing. Too normal of a sandwich. Maybe it’s better at night for the night life, but definitely not worth the stop for lunch.

I absolutely love this place. We don’t have many locations here in Dallas to play sand volleyball, especially after hours. So given the opportunity to kick back with some friends, have a few beers, and enjoy a good game of volleyball is great! This is a great goto spot for some kickback time. A bar worth checking out.

We love this spot! I play in the volleyball league but also come and practice/drink/hangout on weekdays and Sundays. Great atmosphere and food isn’t bad either. Check it out! Great drink specials for happy hour

First time experience was yesterday! I definitely enjoyed sand volleyball. Pretty neat. There wasn’t a fee to come play. I walked in and just walked straight to the courts. The sand is clean and not chunky. The nets are at a normal volleyball nets level. There was about 4 courts on each side. There’s lights for the courts. There’s fencing around to keep the ball from flying out. I definitely like the environment. There’s food and drinks available! I just didn’t try it out.

Checked out this place last night because we were early for a show at the Doublewide and wanted to grab a bite while we waited. What an awesome surprise! The FIRST thing we noticed upon walking in was an amazing aroma. I immediately said«oh wow. They totally make their own fries; can you smell that?» There’s just an unmistakable scent of hand-cut French fries and it was glorious. We sat at the bar, as we usually do, and the bartender was extremely courteous. A woman who appeared to be a manager also spoke to us and asked if it was our first time there and was very pleasant. The whole staff was really welcoming and everyone just seemed to enjoy working there, which always makes me feel comfortable. We got a couple of beers and decided to order the burger. Oh my God. You guys. This is no frozen patty. It was like something massive that my uncle would slap together and throw on the grill in the back yard when I was a kid. You can tell it’s fresh, hand shaped hamburger meat and the char on it was devine! It was served with their delicious house-made fries(I KNEW I’d smelled that!), that were garnished with a sprinkling of what appeared to be fresh chopped parsley and a beautiful purple flower to make the meal as aesthetically pleasing as it was tasty. I’m regretting having not taken a picture, but I NEEDED that burger in my facehole! There is a massive covered patio outside and beyond that, surrounding it all, is all sand. Very cool! There were sand volleyball courts all around, fire pits, picnic benches — this looks like a badass place to hang out in the summer. There are also games like giant jenga, darts, shuffle board and more, I’m sure. We will definitely be back.

Came here to check out the volleyball courts and I must say, I love the white soft sand which reminded me of the sand in Florida. Didn’t expect to find that here in Dallas. There are several courts but not as much so the wait could be longer than expected. I do like the atmosphere but love the view of Dallas. There’s an indoor/outdoor bar to sit and relax. Great hangout place overall.

The only place in town to play a little sand volleyball. Grab some friends and a few cold beers and enjoy the sun.

Awesome addition to the outskirts of deep ellum. Generally free to play, first come, first play. You can leave a personal item(like keys) and borrow a volleyball. It’s good deep sand with little debris. Many beer options on tap with friendly staff. Foods options are pretty good too but the kitchen closes kinds of early(10?) They also have leagues available. Parking is a little limited bit never a real problem. It’s free.

I realized in my first week in town that DFW has a lot of unique spots-Truckyard, Mutt’s, Rustic, Top Golf and I’m sure many more. Sandbar is in that category for me. I love volleyball and this place has to be the bar/sand volleyball hub of the Metroplex. They have a good beer selection and the prices are fair. The friendly bartenders were also patient and let me sample a few taps before making my final choices, which I greatly appreciated. Sandbar’s white sand galore and palm trees are a nice touch, and I’ll be back. If not for the volleyball, for the vacation-esque vibe.

07/20/2014 Went here for a kids Birthday Party, it was different, nice atmosphere, didn’t have any spirits because klids were around. But the good thing is all kids have to be gone, by 8:00pm, because it turns into a «Bar Bar» as it was so eloquently put. So if you and your friends like to get tipsy and play volleyball in the sand, and track it in your ar this is the place for you. The food is pretty good, and it has that beachy feel.
