First time going to Renfield’s and I now understand the hype for this uptown gem. Had a great time with friends here on a Thursday night! My favorite part was being out on the patio and dancing near the DJ. Great song selection, atmosphere and drinks! Recommend ordering the special drink: Purple Jesus. Delicious!

This is not something I do regularly, but after my experience last night I couldn’t not share this with the staff. I have never once had a bad experience in this bar before New Years Eve last night. I made my way to the upstairs bar to grab myself a Dos Equis which is $ 4.67 with tax. I usually tip $ 1 to $ 2 on this total. A 20% tip off this total is .90 cents for reference. I was the first person to walk up to the bar, shortly after 4 – 5 others walked up to an area near me. I do not recall my bartenders name but she looked middle aged and blonde and obviously pissed about something. She proceeds to look at me in the face… Then move to the person next to me. Then the next, and the next, and the next. After taking all of the people before me she looks at me and says… «I’m taking care of the people who actually tip me, you never tip me»… Talk about caring for your customer. With that attitude I regret even considering my more than fair 20% tip. That’s not how you treat a paying customer. Especially one who is already more than generous. I have no complaints about the rest of the staff. All the bouncers are friendly and I’ve never had a bad experience with another bartender. But I don’t ever want to be spoken too like this again when I am out trying to enjoy myself.

Being new to town, I was searching for a Sunday brunch spot. The door was open so I walked in… a full 1 ½ hours before they were scheduled to open at noon. Despite my obvious mistake, Colby and Becca made me feel at home immediately. Colby poured me some yummy sangria and baked me a BBQ brisket flatbread pizza… still a full hour before their scheduled opening. What an amazing, fun place. I will definitely go back!

Came with a buddy who had his dad’s military camo jacket on they refused entry even though he had a dress shirt & slacks on underneath. I asked what if that was his jacket & he served for the country you live in… Y’all don’t care about vets? Lol the security response was well he needs his pants on as well to be let in lol they wouldn’t give a fuck if he was a vet or not this place has great music but is run horribly.

Definitely one of the better bars for nightlife in uptown. Despite dealing with hundreds of people per night, the bartenders still act like real people and don’t seem to favor certain types of groups over others. The actual bar layout is great two, with a variety of separate yet intermixed areas each with a different feel to it. Great place to meet new people.

My Purple Jesus was pretty good, the ambiance was nice on the large patio with the lights and fire pits and the DJ on Saturday was great! If you leave by 10:30 you can still enjoy it before it is overrun by the typical Uptown crowd.

I think I got a bad taste about this place because I went on Saturday nights. It was so crowded that it wasn’t enjoyable. The bathrooms are insanely small for the amount of people. After about 11PM, you will have to wait at least 20 minutes to get into the bathroom, if you are lucky. The inside area was a lot less crowded than outside but still not much actual room to move. Wouldn’t mind trying it out at a non peak time… seems like it could be a relaxed place.

This place was fantastic on Labor Day 2015. Chicago Joe took great care of us. Knowledgeable, friendly, and very in tune with the needs of craft beer drinkers. They had Bourbon County on tap for weeks! Soooo good! Hoping to turn this place into a Bears bar!

Had a drink or two here. I like the outdoor area, friendly staff. I don’t think we ever made it inside.

What started as a lost credit card inconvenience, ended up as a life long relationship with the most wonderful bartender Becca. Most accommodating and friendly bartender I have ever experienced in my 5 years of drinking at bars. If your looking for a great bar in Dallas, with a great staff, renfields is the spot. Your welcome

My first time at reinfield’s. I really love the patio space and open area. Drinks are what you typically pay in uptown. Be on lookout for their special rotating taps behind the main ones, they have pretty kick ass beer. Look out for their beer cocktails. I had the summer beer: lemonade, vodka, and revolver blood & honey.

The servers are very nice and attentive. The ambiance is awesome. Very different to most places in the area, more like a dive bar vibe. Good snacks and drinks.

People make your experience. It’s all about the people. If I eat 5 star food, served by a 2 star snot, I will leave feeling robbed of the full experience and I won’t remember the good food, I’ll remember how I was treated. Now — expectations are a little different in my mind for a place that is more bar than restaurant. But the fact remains that, if you are treated like the most important customer in the world by the staff, you will feel that this the best bar you’ve ever been to and you’ll feel loyalty. If I’m going to go out and drink in Uptown Dallas, Renfield’s Corner will always be my first stop. In fact — Sunday Funday perfection for me will be brunch at Social House followed immediately by Renfield’s. Kudos to Aaron — I’ll go directly to him every time. The atmosphere is a perfect combination of classy, intimate, spacey, cozy — The patio is lovely. On a Saturday evening, it can be deceptively slow at 9:30 — and then without warning it will suddenly be shoulder to shoulder crowded. You need to claim your spot and keep it if you want to have a place to sit through an entire night. Management is incredible. And the barbacks are spot on — those guys work, and they do a great job, I hope their tipout is really generous.

Worst bar service ever. The waitress was so rude. Yelled at our table. If she was trying to be funny she failed. No tip for her.

I used to go to Renfeld’s all the time in my «younger» days. It has a laid back vibe and a pretty open atmosphere outside on their large patio. I’ve never eaten any food here; however, I’ve had many drinks here and they were always really good. One thing I really like about coming to Renfeld’s are the options for different sceneries. There’s a huge inside bar, outside patio, and upstairs patio. So, whenever you’re tired of being in one area, you can easily go to another area and be just as satisfied. I’m sure once the weather gets warmer; I’ll find my way back to Renfelds’ to have another drink with friends. It’s a pretty cool spot to hang out.

When I go to Uptown, which is not very regularly, Renfield’s is one of my go-to places. Indeed, it is big, with an upstairs patio vibe, and a outdoors patio, and has several bars so as to accommodate drinkers in all these areas. I really like the layout. But then again, so do everyone else. It gets insanely crowded, but that is part of the price to go out to Uptown in general so in the grand scheme of things, I cannot really complain. ~Carpe Diem~

Renfield’s Corner discriminated against my friend because he wears women’s clothing and the door guy told him he would«beat his ass» for simply trying to relax inside with his friends! I think this place is VILE and I would never visit an establishment that is so hateful and cruel to others!

We got here around 10pm on Saturday night and I was surprised that the entire back room was completely empty! So we went and got an entire table to ourselves without any problem whatsoever. By the time we left around 11:30pm, it was a little busier back there, but it was clear that the party is in the front and upstairs! I enjoyed being in a quieter spot though since we were meeting up with friends :). Our waitress was great and on top of things and separated our checks happily. Drink options were plentiful and delicious! Good experience.

I think most people get the wrong impression of this place because it’s in uptown and it’s situated next to Sfuzzi. THISISN’T A CLUB. IT’S, MOSTASSUREDLY, A PUB-ABAR. It’s the same owner as the Old Monk, Black Friar Pub, and Idle Rich Pub. Sister bars!!! So when you come here, don’t think you’re going to a place with a huge dance floor, like Plush or Wish. You’re a moron if you think that’s what you’re getting. This place is chill to come and just hangout with friends. They always play good music during the week AND on the weekends. The staff is friendly. If you’re a complete idiot, they might be a little more eager to move quickly to the next guest. Which, about 50% of the crowd is. I usually just feel sorry for the staff for the North Face dummies they have to deal with. They have live music on Wednesday’s and it’s always a great show! Never a cover. This place is almost always packed on the weekends but during the winter, body warmth, right? They have fire pits out front and heaters all over so it’s pretty comfortable even when there isn’t a lot of people to keep you warm.(: of course I love the roof top patio. I think this place kind of started a movement for the bars in the area to have a rooftop patio/full bar. And, no. This isn’t Tribeca. Nothing like it. So get that out of your head too. Again, not a club! Stop treating it like one. The pub style food is amazing too. Meatball subs! Yum. And you’ve gotta try the Perfect Vodka Tonic. I could drink that tonic water all day. This will always be my bar.(:
