wow — what happened here? The only reason I upped this to two stars was our waitress was friendly during a busy and loud time. However, she didn’t ask me how I like me food or comment that I was leaving so much on my plate. I was pretty hungry and I wasn’t paying, so it wouldn’t take too much on this evening to keep me satisfied. But this evening the nigiri had undercooked rice with warm pieces of fish that didn’t taste fresh. I would have gladly traded my dinner for HEB sushi in a second. I had a spicy tuna roll that tasted weird — it wasn’t spicy nor did it taste like tuna. It seemed closer to really upscale catfood. I haven’t ordered anything including a California roll in a long time but I can still say I haven’t finished one since RA didn’t serve me an edible one on this night. I should note that my dining companions had much better luck.

Their service is terrible. Though a wait for a table wouldn’t have been very long, since we didnt have a reservation we decided to eat at the sushi bar. Nothing new and not too cramped. However, we waited way too long to even order a drink, so we ended up leaving. PS their food is definitely not worth the wait. At the most, food is mediocre.

Last night was my second time to come here. The sushi rolls aren’t anything special. Not awful just not great. Our service was excellent which is always nice however, this is NOT much of a family place especially for dinner seeing that the table behind us were being vulgar and loud and taking shots and shots. I only come here for sushi as a last resort.

I think I live here! I can’t remember my own address hahaha! I love RA! It’s not far from home, in a GREAT location, next to the movies, restaurants, bars, whole foods, and shopping! The food at RA is always great! Shrimp Tempura roll, crunchy calamari roll, cali roll, and spicy tuna rolls are my favorite here! They have a great happy hour and always have different deals going on. The ambience here is great as well! Sometimes they even have a dj! How cool is that! This would be a great place for a date, girls night, or even if you want to sit by the bar and have a few drinks alone. The service here is always great, never any complaints about that! They also stay open late!!!

We went here for New Years Eve dinner happy hour and realized that happy hour is definitely the way to go! We ordered several items(we were with two other people) and they were all delicious. Definitely recommend the pineapple cream cheese wontons(sounds kind of odd but they were great!). As for the sushi, two of us split 4 rolls and it was the perfect amount. We ordered the spicy salmon, VIva Las Vegas, california, and Tootsy maki. Would go again during happy hour!

Great atmosphere and location. Not a ton of choices in the nigiri or sashimi department however they did have an extensive list of rolls. They did have a good sake — Ty Ku, which was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent.

Thank you for making Christmas dinner so very special for my 77 year young mom and husband. While I couldn’t be there because I was working a flight delay my husband brought me some shrimp tempura and calamari it was amazing. They really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Merry Christmas

We eat here all the time but tonight SUCKED!!! We ordered 2 of the newest items on the menu the fried wings and the short ribs. Both were lackluster at best. Note to RA short ribs are beef not pork. What they’re calling short ribs are just regular Asian style ribs. Anyway, they had no taste. I also ordered the pepper teriyaki and the chile ponzu… YUCK! Crispy? Yes. Lightly fried? No! The sauces were not bad but I didn’t really like the wings no matter what sauce was on them. Our waiter was nice but saying sorry your food wasn’t good isn’t what a good server does. I’ll come back but only to the Plano location.

I am a big fan of RA sushi, this was my first time at this location. As all other RA Sushi’s, I was pleased with the service, food, and beverages. The location is very convenient as it’s right next to the AMC Movie theater and other trendy bars and restaurants. The waiter recommended a hot sake for us to try and I’m so glad we did. We also tried their other cocktails with sake such as the sake sangria, wonderful! My favorite roll is the Vegas Roll — it’s a must try. The RA Sushi atmosphere is very trendy, the lights are dim and you feel relaxed. They also played the BEST music, I was jamming the entire night to old hip hop. We sat outside by the fireplace, it was so pretty out. All in all, this place was awesome! The bathrooms were clean, service was wonderful, and I would highly recommend this location.

RA has some quality dishes, but I’m really impressed with the service at this location. We had quite a large party, and our server did everything to make service smooth, including remembering who ordered what and directing the food runners to set the plates down correctly. We could have just claimed our plates, but our server went above and beyond. Other than service, there is nothing to write home about! It’s your average hip sushi place with many TVs, loud music, and lots of drinks flowing. One of the many places in Addison to get your happy hour on!

My boyfriend and I came here on a whim, bc hopdoddy had a line! It was too hot outside to wait so we decided to check out this place since I’ve heard about this place. Ra sushi is a very beautiful restaurant. It had a cool laid back vibe to it. But surprising it wasn’t packed-given, it was around 6:00pm. Lucky we had a very nice server. We ordered the calamari for our appetizer which was pretty decent. My boyfriend thought it was a bit bland. Then we ordered the California roll, shrimp tempura tuna avocado roll, and the dynamite roll. The California roll came out fast and it was delicious. And we then enjoyed our shrimp tempura roll. And we waited some time for out dynamite roll — wondering where it was. And our waitress had mentioned it would take a little longer to prepare. The roll came out way too spicy! I could not even handle it. It made my stomach hurt. And I was shocked bc the menu didn’t state anywhere that it would be spicy. My boyfriend had one bite and didn’t enjoy either. So we just didn’t eat it. This place was good. But will it be my go to sushi place? Not quite. Prices are okay. Apparently they have a great happy hour. Maybe, next time we’ll go during happy hour.

LOVEEEEEE this place!!! I use to go to the other location at the Shops At Legacy, but the Addison location is so much closer. The vibe at the Addison location is definitely a laid-back, upscale restaurant. I think this restaurant is perfect for dates :) I ordered the beef tataki appetizer and all I can say is WOW! I was really surprised on how good it was considering that this restaurant is more of in the Asian Fusion category. The beef tataki sauce reminded me of the Benihana’s ginger sauce served on the side of a hibachi dinner. I was really disappointed to find out that the sweet onion salmon was no longer on the menu! The sweet onion salmon is my most favorite dish from Ra and I would strongly recommend for everyone to order it… ONLY if its being offered at their location. You will not regret it! Overall: DUH, I’ll definitely be back! **Ra Sushi has THEBEST happy hour menu!!! its 4−7pm Monday through Friday. The happy hour prices is a STEAL so coming here will definitely be worth it**

As far as Asian fusion goes, RA has to be my favorite. I only ever go for lunch or happy hour. Lunch sashimi special or chirashi bowl is the way to go for lunch. For happy hour, sushi rolls and small plates.

A group of us appeared at this mostly deserted restaurant around 11:30PM on a Saturday night. Immediately the hostess gave us attitude, complaining to the servers that they close in 30 minutes(Actually, you close at 1AM.) after we walked in. Oh, I’m sorry, do you not want our business to keep your paycheck coming? Immediate hostess attitude immediately makes me dislike a place and it has to work hard for me to give the place a decent chance. Our server, thankfully, was not like the hostess, so was actually helpful and friendly. How refreshing! The sushi itself was pretty decent, and hit the spot for what I was craving. The drinks were drinkable, but nothing special. Nothing about this place really impressed me, and after the reception at the front door I will never return the next time I’m in Dallas. I suspect my friends who live there will also not be returning. In retrospect, the fact that it was deserted at 11:30PM on a Saturday should have been a big, big clue. Not making that mistake again.

My brother and I went here for my birthday celebration. We went around 4 on a Tuesday and there was literally nobody there BUT that’s how we like it LOL. It was my first time going and my brother has been there before at their Plano location. It was during their happy hour from 3 to 7pm and they had some good items on the list. I ordered the seared tuna, spicy tuna roll, and spicy yellowtail roll. All of which was very good and fresh. I really loved the seared tuna which is a sashimi. There was no long wait and the service wasn’t the best but waiter was friendly enough which is good enough for me. I would come back here again, only during happy hours because I don’t like it when a place is too crowded.

Came here for the first time. Wasn’t impressed. I felt the sushi and sashimi were mediocre. Service was alright. Got the dinner sashimi assortment, spicy salmon roll and soft shell crab. It was jam pack with lots of rice. Not what I was looking forward to… The only nice thing was the plum wine but meh… Sushi-3/5 Sashimi-3/5 Service-3.5/5 Atmosphere-4/5

so my wife had been wanting to try this place for some time now! since we were waiting on her oil change to be completed… we decided to pop in here! considering the area it’s in & the time of day… surprisingly it wasn’t busy. we were seated right away & given time to browse the happy hour menu & regular menu. since this was our 1st time here… we opted for the happy hour menu selections… ranging from $ 3.49-$ 8.99! we chose the pineapple cheese wontons, ra’ckin shrimp, spicy shrimp roll & chicken yakitori. i’m always saying not 2 compare 1 restaurant to another… but if you’ve ever eaten at blue fish… it’s hard to not expect the best sushi or food when you dine elsewhere. the best item we had was the pineapple cheese wontons! lol it’s like everything else needed more flavor or something. we’ll definitely give it another try b/c i want to try more sushi items.

Sushi is good. I cannot say the best way in town though. It’s biggest asset are the location, atmosphere, and service. I cannot emphasize the great service. We came here on a Saturday night and David was working our table. He provided an A+ service. He was simply amazing.

This restaurant is new and modern inside and typical of the Addison area restaurants. Went for happy hour and they have pretty decently priced items with rolls(and appetizers) ranging from $ 5.89 to $ 8.89. Some of the fancier $ 8.89 rolls serve just a few pieces, so don’t get your hopes up yet. Drinks aren’t bad either with cocktails being about $ 8. The sushi isn’t spectacular, though the presentation of the viva Las Vegas roll was unique and intriguing. The tataki and yellowtail are pretty good and fresh. The mango lobster roll(not on happy hour) was basically a California roll topped with mango, very little lobster in it, which was disappointing. Im skeptical of the other rolls now that have the description«mix» in it… a laymen term for imitation crab filler/pollack fish junk. On the whole, I think the prices are a little high(but typical for the area) for what they serve, and have been to better sushi places with better sushi rolls/sashimi fish at the same prices. My fours and fives are legitimately tough to come by. But Ra isn’t bad for the area!
