Mays Beads around the corner is much better. Treat customers well, better prices and selections. I was going to Queen several times a year and spending $ 50 to $ 100 each time. At Queen, That Amy C is always at the front running her mouth. I carry a very small black nylon Ralph Lauren bag every time I go in. The last time I was in she asked that I give her the bag to hold. When I went to pay for my purchases she had a running commentary on what I had in my bag. I thought I was missing some cash too. Never again will I set foot in this place. May’s is far better. Very nice to their repeat customers.

By far the BEST place in town to get your beads. They are very helpful and informative in all things beads. If you have a chance to attend any of the classes do so.

So I’m told the prices here are fantastic. To be honest, I’m brand new to the beading thing, so I have a hard time speaking to that. The selection seems pretty great(especially for such a small store) but again — not a lot of comparison. The thing that gets me is that their customer service is non-existant. I guess they cater to more experienced beaders, so they feel they don’t need that. However, after wandering the store feeling like a fish out of water and getting no help and really not even being sure who actually worked there, I finally had to screw up the courage to ask a fellow shopper for advice. I’d read a Unilocal review that said they offered jewelry making classes, so thought they might cater more to beginners. I was wrong. I was hoping to get some wire in addition to the beads and my guardian angel customer was sure there would be the kind she recommended there. She said that she’d been beading for many, many years and yet even she was surprised that they didn’t stock it. And that the person she asked about it had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. So no doubt this is an amazing store if you know what you’re doing. And if you only want to buy the beads themselves. But wait until you know what you’re doing until you go.(And if you’re reading this… thanks to the incredibly kind and patient customer who helped me out.)

This place stands out from the crowd because they teach classes on jewelry making. Their selection is awesome too when compared to any other bead place.

Great place to buy beads for jewelry making! They have everything you need and the service is excellent. There is a handbag policy at the store but you can let them lock it up for you or you lock it up yourself. You are allow to only bring your wallet, phone, and keys. Prices are so good that you wouldn’t want to miss out.
