I am from out of town an looked up best coffee shop in Dallas. So lucky to have found Pearl Cup! They made me a special Chemex and it was one of the best cups I have had!

The saddest day of my life living in Dallas the past 2yrs has honestly been when the Pearl Cup closed their doors. This is the best Latte you will ever dabble upon — it is unfathomably good. Holy pearl, this is a travesty to our Dallas society.

Ode to the Pearl Cup. This location was never my favorite. But it was still a good location. The chairs were typically occupied and the tables already in use. But they were good chairs and tables. The patio was tiny and the sun was in my eyes. But it was a good patio and good sunshine. I prefer iced drinks, but the latte art was so beautiful that I had to get a hot drink. But that was ok, because it was… well, good. The rent was high. But the rent got higher, and this was not good. C’est la vie, Henderson location. I hope you find a new home soon.

I needed a stronger internet connection to download MS Office than what I had through TMobile and decided to enjoy a cup of tea while my computer did it’s download. I chose this place because of the great reviews. The people here are great. I spent a cloudy, kind of gloomy day in a very cheerful place pretty much to my self. Later in the afternoon when more people arrived the internet slowed down to a crawl for downloading, but still faster than what I had.

Not an ideal studying place, but good for hot chocolate. Also, a good place to see 60s style furniture in action. I’ll be back to try your latte, which is apparently the best in Dallas.

We were kicked out at 8pm tonight and their website says their open until 9pm. We had our non profit meeting here. We wouldn’t have held it at 7pm if we would have known! And when I say«kicked out» they literally turned the lights off at 7:45pm then proceeded to our table at 8:00 and said«we closed 15 minutes ago. You need to leave! Wow. Anyway, the specialty latte was great. Just wish we didn’t have to be moved to the parking lot to finish our meeting! We will never meet here again.

This place makes a delicious pearl latte and I love it muchly. The people who work here are fairly friendly and try to keep up – they’re certainly not being lazy. I don’t know if they have an inability to staff well or if they don’t have enough equipment to keep up with whatever intricate process it takes to make the yum stuff, but IT’S A PROBLEM. DONOT go here if you are in a rush, especially on the weekends. If you come here on a Saturday, aim for 9am or earlier. I’ve always been able to at least get a seat at either the front or back bar, but there is simply no excuse for a 45 minute wait for a freaking latte. Is the magic ingredient the tears from a single kitten kept in the back? It’s just a common courtesy *when you know there’s a 45+ minute wait* to simply warn people ahead of time.(And saves them having to do multiple refunds.) Makes people WAY less stabby, I imagine. People who obviously haven’t had their coffee yet, either – a dangerous crowd to provoke.

Multiple visits. Multiple bad experiences. Here’s where they need improvement: — I have yet to have quality service, seriously. Not friendly. Waitstaff walk around like zombies. Please, show some enthusiasm that you’re employed and happy to serve.(I had to greet the barista today) — If there are even 2 people in front of you, prepare to wait… forever! They’re slow — Always crowded, very little room — Need more ceramic mugs(for here) because they rarely have any for me On the plus side: — The coffee is well prepared and hard to complain about I REALLY want to like this place… yet I’m pretty sure I will not be venturing here any longer. I’m over it. I’m moving on.

I recently discovered Pearl Cup. & I must say, it’s my best discovery yet! *pushes Starbucks to the side*(ouch!) Let’s start with the ambiance, it’s so «chill» and cool. Really down to earth, nothing fancy. The location fits perfect with the décor. The times I’ve gone it’s not so busy, so I get to sit and read my book. The noise level is turned down a notch, the music volume is perfect. I feel really relaxed here. I’ve had almost every latte. My favorite is the hazelnut latte! I know it’s pretty common but I don’t know what it is about Pearl Cup, the flavor is so different, in a good way. I can’t wait to come during deep fall(60s temp) & sit in the balcony. However– parking sucks! It’s not the greatest. I’d hate to come on a busy day.

I just dont get the hype. I absolutely love the location and the set up of this coffee shop but after countless visits, it is time that I finally write my review. The staff just isnt friendly, no matter what time of day I go or who is working they are all the same. They don’t seem like they want to be there and if you have a question, the horror! Nothing peeves me more than going somewhere and them acting like I’m doing them a favor and thats the vibe I get here. With the service issues I would expect some ridiculously delicious coffee but that just isn’t the case either. WHY! I want to like you so badly, Pearl Cup, I really do! The coffee is just OK. Everything from their«famous» pearl latte, to the chai or hot chocolate I just dont understand where these great reviews come from. There are so many other coffee shops in town that offer delicious coffee I wont waste my time here any more.

Very cool place to hangout and have a great cup of coffee as you watch the activities nearby on Henderson. You should come out and hang out here after a good meal or or prior to going to any of the bars down the street. Just a relaxing enviroment…

I’ve been here twice, and the environment is very cool. Parking is kind of a chore, but its worth it for a relaxing environment. Signature pearl latte is very good. They should perhaps come up with a better method of notifying customers when their coffee is ready. Mine was sitting on the counter for 10 minutes without them notifying me. Recently, I went in on a Saturday morning and they had two people working. We waited over 45 minutes for 2 lattes. C’mon guys!

I don’t always drink coffee, but when I do, I like Pearl Cup. We all know that the D has no surplus of quaint little local cafes, but you can count on at least a handful of gems out there. Pearl Cup is one of these spots… and it appears to be one of the most popular. I had my usual dirty chai which had just the right touch of sprinkled cinnamon and foamy milk. A bit sweet for my taste, but they were happy to add milk and dilute it a bit. The full menu of light food, coffee, Italian sodas and free WiFi made this little cozy café an ideal place to get some work done. Minor concerns include parking, which is very limited. And bring a sweater because when I went, it was colder than a witch’s you-know-what inside. I was kind of confused why the fan was on full-speed in the dead of winter. Brrr! Other than that, Pearl Cup is an adorable café with lots of character and a huge variety of tasty drinks and eats.

I ordered their signature latte at the suggestion of the cashier. I told her I like«sweet.» It was not sweet. — I waited a long time to get my latte. — I received my latte cold. — Rec’d a recommendation that was a little off; had I known the latte wasn’t sweet, I’d have added a couple of pumps of syrup. — GF and I spent a couple hours here talking & sometimes felt loud — place has a library/study hall vibe to it. We noticed people stuffing their earphones in at the sound of conversation. Lots of book readers too. — Has an uptown vibe which can be energetic, but can also be pretentious/uptight. + Lots of patio space. Perfect for a warm, sunny, Fall afternoon. + There are fruit smoothies and tea on the menu which is a nice non-coffee option. + Diverse crowd of people which in a diverse world, makes me a happy patron. + Cashier was friendly and kind. I don’t know how I feel about the place. At this point, it isn’t winning. Cold coffee and a somewhat stuffy/pretentious atmosphere get 0 points. Diverse crowd gets 2 points.

Definitely not ALLTHAT! The coffee is decent but you can keep the rest of Pearl Cup IMO. –Parking Sucks –Very inconsistent service. Ive witnessed some really uncool behavior, where is manager/owner? –The place is too small to handle all the campers so getting a seat is a chore. –It took 20 minutes to get a Macchiato, come on now! I’m not feeling all the hype Pearl Cup has received, but to each our own right?

Luckily this place is not inside the downtown maze. Location is not too hard to find but don’t park behind the building! Was recommended by a friend who came here… tried the strawberry hibiscus tea and the ginger orange muffin. Neither were too outstanding just ordinary? The tea was watered down cause it had too much ice. The muffin didn’t have any taste of ginger or orange. Don’t get me wrong they weren’t bad but I wouldn’t come back to get more. The coffee might have more praises but a café shouldn’t really focus on one thing. The dessert selections were cheap, appearance matters for desserts and if they look crappy… well you get my point. I don’t understand what’s so hype about this place? The fact that it’s located on the edge of dtown or??? It’s been opened for 3 years and I’ve never heard about this place.

I came here for the first time and ordered their signature Pearl Latté and it was amazingly delicious. Perfectly blended, aromatic and so tasty. It was so good that after I was done with my cup, I ordered another one to-go. I was completely wired and I loved it. The atmosphere of Pearl Cup is also very quaint and relaxing. I came here to study for a couple of hours since I was in the area. Great place to study, free Wi-Fi and lots of chairs. I noticed many business people and students come in and lounge for a while too.

What a sweet little spot that they have created here at the Pearl Cup! Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. 50% Modern Coffee shop, 30% European Café, 15% Fifty’s sock-hop diner, 5% Art Gallery. My boyfriend got the infamous Pearl Latte and fell in love. Unfortunately they do not have a lactose-free version so I went with the regular iced Latte and had no complaints! Delicious. We split a cranberry cookie and sat at the bar. We watched the baristas make fresh-leaf drip tea, listened to them talk about her love-life, and greet customers by name. Since I was only in town for a few hours we asked for a recommendation on a good place to eat in the area. No surprise, their suggestion was fantastic(Vickery Park — but that’s another review in itself). Overall it was a wonderful experience visiting the Pearl Cup. And clearly this is no secret as the place was wall-to-wall packed with macbooks and couples around 7pm on a Saturday night. A definite recommendation from this coffee lover!

For my LA peeps… Dallas: LA: The Pearl Cup is to… Intelligentsia Buon Giorno is to… Urth Caffe We certainly take for granted LA’s amazingly diverse première restaurant and café options! If you’re seeking the Intelligentsia hipster vibe, you’ll be sipping espresso here. Twice I had the pleasure of trying The Pearl Cup’s Faux 2% Caffe Latte and their offerings were consistent. Faux is what the barista shouted out because they had mix skim with whole to make faux 2%. 5 stars? Yes, because it was the closest thing I could find to Intelligentsia. Should they have been an LA coffeehouse, they would be ranked just below Coffee Commissary on Fairfax, but on par with Portola Coffee Lab in the OC. For reference, here’s how my LA/OC coffeehouses stack up: 1. Intelligentsia 2. Espresso Cielo 3. Coffee Commissarry 4. Portola Coffee Lab 5. Kean Coffee 6. Urth Caffe For my DFW peeps… There’s a reason D Magazine ranked The Pearl Cup #1 Coffeehouse in Dallas. They offer a great product that is consistent while having friendly, courteous staff in a modern café setting. I was impressed that the cashier recognized me from my first visit and remembered that I wanted 2% milk. As an out of towner, that instilled confidence that The Pearl Cup cares about their patrons. I had the privilege of trying a few cafes in Dallas and found this place to serve the best cup of espresso. My Faux 2% Caffe Latte was served hot and was smooth possessing some natural sweetness from the espresso shots and were not bitter! Latte art was beautiful. Chai, Teas, Mexican Coke, SmartWater, etc are great alternatives if you feel like drinking something other than coffee. If you’re hungry, check out the menu board. Their paninis look very appetizing… and they also have a variety of baked goods! I have two gripes and they have to do with the parking situation and the café’s room temperature. Parking sucks really bad. Good luck finding a spot. Maybe it was because of the 100+ degree weather… all I know is that it was pretty hot inside the café the entire hour we were there. Air conditioning vents were showing signs of blowing, but they didn’t push out enough cool air. I perspired the whole time. If I’m find myself back in Dallas, I’ll definitely be making this my go to spot for espresso. If you live in the surrounding area, The Pearl Cup should be your one and only spot for espresso!
