The restaurant has a sign in the door that it is closed for business. There is paper over the windows. So sad. I loved this place.

Came here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and was blown away. Innovative menu — sliders, wood fired pizza, salmon with brussel sprouts, focaccia, all delicious. The place has a nice, easy-going vibe with a cool bar area. Chris took excellent care of us — attentive but not overbearing. Everyone here was very accommodating and we’re looking forward to our next visit. Will definitely be back.

Been here 6 times now and haven’t been disappointed yet. Food is spot on with a good menu that is not overwhelming but broad enough to accommodate broad food preferences. Service has been very good on each of my visits. What more can I ask for… oh yes very reasonable prices for high quality food!

We had dinner here on Friday night and everything was excellent. Our server was spot on and very personable and always available. I ordered the ahi tuna which was a lot of tuna and excellent. My wife had the salmon which was also excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This neighborhood gem is always so pleasant to keep on my list of places to dine the food is excellent and Laurel there is the best wait person in dallas. This is the perfect spot for a Mother’s Day or Father’s Day brunch in addition to every day dining.

Disappointed. Had read good reviews and expected more. Service was very good. Nice quaint neighborhood restaurant in a great location! Arrived for an early dinner so not crowded at all. Ordered spinach artichoke dip(it was good), the pear/Gorgonzola salad with lemon vin(it was good, not great) but it was the flatbread that was so disappointing. It was served burned. We didn’t ask to return but thought it should have been a kitchen decision NOT to serve a burned meal to customers. Had to cut burned sections off to eat. Wish I could say better on the food. Hard to say if the flavor would have been good because the charred flavor overpowered. :(

I have not been here in many months. The food is still great along with the service. Micheal the owner is friendly, funny, and welcoming along with the staff. Best seared tuna in town.

Don’t go for the wonderful beet salad or the signature veal piccata. And there is no pasta on the menu. This new owner/chef considers them off the«seasonal menu.» I have been going to this restaurant location for over 15 yrs. and the veal piccata has always been on the menu from owner to owner. The couple next to us also came in for the signature veal dish. Now you get their lunch menu at dinner with the addition of a strip steak & pork chop. Went there for lunch once. Never went back. Nothing sounded good. Same way tonight. This new owner, Michael, is really screwy. If it ain’t broke, don’t «fix“it. Guess he never heard that. It’s Fri nite & the place was half full at 8. We won’t be back. One star is more than Peak deserves.

I really wish I could give more stars to this place. They had great service and an owner who obviously cared. However, the food was average and there’s really not enough to give it 4 stars or above. We went there on Valentine’s Day, because it was one of the few restaurants on Open Table that still had availability. The owner was greeting people at the door and roaming around the room. Major props for that. Our waiter had a great attitude and checked in on us, without being annoying. The drink I ordered was delicious — I think it was a Citrus Basil or something similar. It felt overpriced compared to other drinks I’ve gotten, but it was refreshing and not too sweet or too alcohol-y. It also came in a beautiful martini glass. My food, however, wasn’t anything that would stand out. My salmon was overcooked(they asked how I wanted it and that it was sushi grade salmon — so I asked for it medium rare, but it came cooked through). My fiancé enjoyed his steak, which I tasted and was definitely better than the salmon. I enjoyed my beet salad. The décor was very plain and the tables were close together and the lights very bright — overall it didn’t have a romantic Valentine’s feel. I have no complaints about the food, but I also didn’t have any standouts, either. Overall it felt dated: the menu, the furnishings, etc. I could see my parents thinking it was a fantastic restaurant, but it really wasn’t my style. My fiancé enjoyed it and wants to go back on a non-holiday, when they have the full menu available(they had a limited menu available).

I made a last minute reservation on New Year’s Eve for me, my husband, and our 3 year old(yes, we are those people). We came in at 5:30 and we were seated right away. All the cool kids eat much later on New Year’s Eve. We were given a limited menu that was prepared for the busy night they were expecting. Unfortunately for us they were not offering a children’s menu. I should have called ahead but I was so excited about going out that it didn’t even register for me. We weren’t complaining because we were happy to be dressed up for a nice dinner and our daughter is an adventurous eater. A few minutes after we were seated the chef ran by to give a message to the hostess. He stopped in his tracks, pointed at us, and asked«does she want some noodles and butter and mixed vegetables?» I was stunned that he even noticed us and offered to make something special for my daughter. He explained they weren’t busy yet and he was happy to accommodate us. So NICE!!! He even brought her some paper and crayons. The chef/owner was very nice. He spoke with us for a few minutes about the restaurant, the neighborhood, and his family. It felt like we were old friends. He(I wish I remembered his name) has a lot of pride in his business and he lives in the area. He came out several times during the evening to greet people. It seemed like their were a lot of «regulars» he was expected to come in for dinner. Our meal was delicious. My husband and I each started with the roasted beet salad. Very fresh. We also had the focaccia bread that is homemade in the brick pizza oven. It is served with a seasoned olive oil and sprinkled lightly with Parmesan cheese. Great start to a meal. For dinner my husband had the chicken piccata with quinoa. He loved it. I enjoyed the grilled salmon and a baked potato. The salmon was tasty and the potato was huge. Our 3 year old loved her pasta and butter dish. The mixed vegetables were seasoned with a course, savory seasoning blend but she still ate almost every piece of it. Since it was a special night we ordered dessert too. Key lime cheese cake and chocolate cake. The cheese cake was creamy and rustic. You could tell it was made in house. The chocolate cake was a little more refined but still very good. I can’t end this review without mentioning the bar. There is a lovely and busy bar in the middle of the restaurant. Great wine selection and a menu full of specialty drinks. I ordered the Mother of Pearl martini and I can barely speak just thinking about how good it was. Pear vodka, St. Germain, and grapefruit juice. My mouth is watering!!! Peak Wood Fired Grille was a wonderful restaurant for our family to celebrate the New Year. It will definitely be our go to spot for special occasions(with or without our little one).

Don’t even bother! You have so many more options to choose from that are far better than this place. I chose this place because I wanted something new and different and quaint. Let me tell you that the management of this place is awful. Story… Made a reservation on Xmas eve for my family. I had my baby girl with us so the manager decides that the entire restaurant was full(at 515PM!) and they couldn’t seat us at a normal table so they pulled in a cocktail table with a round table and said thats all they had available. The place was empty. Manager says«every table is spoken for»… we were the only people in there. Needless to say, we left. and will never go back. Good luck to all those that try this place. I had to leave my word.

This place exceeded my expectations! Great location, beautiful interior, nice mix of casual and fine, excellent service and food. The menu is not too ambitious. I enjoyed the roasted beet salad, but would have liked more beets. Wine list was unusual, but the host was there to make good suggestions and even offered a sample of a grape that we had not tried before, which we then ordered later in the meal. The dining experience is somewhere between casual and special occasion. It’s not a dressy place, but I could see coming after theater or such. There were a LOT of staff in view — many not doing anything — which was curious. Bottom line, Peak Wood is exactly as advertised and well worth a return visit.

Got takeout tonight. Focaccia, beer salad, salmon and meatloaf. Was all legit, tasty, healthy and reasonable. I highly suggest Peak and will look to visit again shortly. They had great beer on tap and the staff was very friendly.

This review is long overdue! I love this place. It’s been a couple of months since my last visit but that’s only because of my work/travel schedule. I came in because I saw the Roasted beet salad on the menu and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed it so much I brought my husband on his birthday. From beginning to end I couldn’t have asked for more. Our martinis we’re fresh and started the night off right. Then it was on to the main course. I ordered salmon and it was prepared perfectly. The salmon melted in my mouth(literally). I believe this is the best salmon I have had since moving to Dallas. I can’t remember what my husband had but I know he was happy too. It was nice meeting the owner and chef, who both checked to make sure we were happy. This visit I had to have my salad again. While enjoying it, I witnessed the chef. Showing a younger patron a live lobster. Great customer service! If you’re in the area, you must stop by and enjoy this special little place.

Love this little spot in Preston Center. Went for a business lunch with 8 people. The restaurant is small, but airy with lots of natural light. The food was great! Our table ordered fish tacos, Reuben sandwich, turkey and brie sandwich, clam chowder, crabcakes, and the Luther salad. Everyone was very pleased with all the food. The chef came out and checked on us, which is always a lovely gesture. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars was our server. She seemed annoyed to be there from the moment we walked in. She was grudgingly placing our menus on the table. When I told her we were all going to be on one check, she brightened slightly and said«thank you! that will be so much easier for me.» Having waited tables before, I understand the pain in the rear that separate checks are, but It’s Your Job– get over it. She acted irritated the entire meal. Waitress was also very unkempt. Bra straps showing(purposefully?), hair not washed in days? At least it looked like it. There was also a timing issue. There was about a 10 minute window between the time the 1st person was served to the last. This is always awkward when there is a group. I saw another server bring out some flatbreads while we were there that looked great, so I would like to go back and try those. The food really was good! I just hope this server finds a different job that will make her less miserable.

yesterday took a business meeting at peak grille … outstanding. so good, in fact, took lunch today. prices are addictively reasonable and we will surely return. by the way, the owner/chef, scott hoffner, was a chef to celebrities like tyson chandler. be sure to ask the red-headed scott about the stranger and breakfast at tiffany’s … also, notice, not a single negative review on Unilocal

Delicious place to have a healthy lunch! I met two coworkers here awhile ago and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff was so welcoming and really grateful to have us join them. We were seated at a window seat, which was great people watching. The beet salad was amazing… just thinking about it makes we want to try it again. Everything was fresh, tasty and healthy!

It’s rare I leave the office to get lunch. I always feel rushed and like it isn’t worth the money. But at Peak I never feel that way. Everyone remembers me every time I go. They even have my order memorized. The chef has come out to talk and make sure the meal was great numerous times. Even recalls me if we walk by each other in Preston center! The food is alway great and fresh! The place has a nice modern vibe. While I’ve only had lunch there I have heard it gets pretty packed in the evening and on weekends so make sure and make a reservation cause the place is tiny. Totally worth checking it out!

Stumbled upon this Preston Center gem one weekend. It was very small interior, but had an ample bar area and dining area. The place has a very comfortable vibe to it. There were a few families and blue hairs there, but to be expected in this part of town. The service was very quick, however the waitress was not completely knowledgeable about the menu, but she was new. Now the food, I went with the sesame crusted tuna, it was absolutely wonderful! Amber C chose the scallops, she said were great. The chef was gracious enough to let us swap out for a caesars salad, that was fantastic! The food is fresh, the ingredients were excellent. This spot is hidden, so be aware, but overall a great spot for a date or couples dinner!
