Don’t forget that this half assed thrift store with bad selection supports the AIDS Health Foundation. An organization dedicated to destroying access to PrEP, the daily pill that can prevent HIV. While also lowering the level of care for those living with HIV. I’ll never go back to supporting such an organization. Not unlike the Salvation Army but at least they have a selection.

I went here on 01÷19÷16 after doing previous research on free testing clinics. Testing was free, fast and confidential! Just one little prick on the finger, blood sample collected, and that’s it! There is also a pharmacy in the location as well. The man who tested me was very nice, and professional and educated me on the stuff that I knew and heard over and over again for the most part.
FYI: They only test for activity within the past 3 months. Example: So we are in January 19th 2016 currently hence, any activity from October 19th 2015 and back is what they test for. Anything after October 19th 2015 they recommend going to the Dallas County Health Department for their early detection tests due to the «window period». Basically that was explained to me.
I didn’t check out their clothes or nothing.
However, I got a free selfie stick for my time!

I not only shop here but have begun to donate merchandise from the retail store where I am a buyer in Preston Hollow. To the people on here that are saying the store has crap, you are going at the wrong time. I am getting ready to donate over 20 tote bags filled with jewelry, scarves, home goods, candles etc. Since I am in Preston Hollow I can guarantee they are of the best quality. So… maybe instead of saying negative comments about a store that does so much good for the community, maybe you should do as your Mother told you…“if you cannot say anything nice, it is better to keep your mouth closed.”
on a side note, I purchased 2 Ralph Lauren Polo shirts for $ 7.99 each, they look as if they were never worn!

I loved this store! As soon as I walked in I saw a big dog. I love dogs! The dog owner let me pet him as he finished paying for his items. After that, I found a very cute shirt, and my sister found 7 $ 1 jackets! I would definitely go back to this spot! The fur coats are on sale January 2, highest bidder wins!

The stuff is crap. There they are in the middle of the gayborhood and that’s all they get donated? It’s clear us gays are donating elsewhere, because the best kitchen item they can manage is a dented George Foreman grill for $ 4.99 and they’re attempting to sell used ornaments for a buck apiece out of a gigantic cardboard box and you can’t stick your hand in it or else twenty ornaments will come flying out. The counter is staffed with what looks like club kids… or maybe they’re street urchins… it’s hard to tell the difference at my age. I guess street urchins don’t have purple hair on purpose.
This is a terrible shame and a waste of space on Cedar Springs. Blow it up, move it out, and get something better in there!

This is one of the best places to buy inexpensive used clothing in the area. Always a good selection, friendly staff and the prices are amazing. I found a beautiful Givenchy sport coat for 20 bucks! Good selection of books and media as well. It’s a small space so come often as the product turns over very quickly. Love it!

Thrift elsewhere. The store has little to offer in the women’s clothing section. They have these horrid looking shoes that have been on display to an extent since opening. The manager even had a sale one day, that if you get a free hiv test, you get a pair of these «designer» shoes, needless to say they weren’t walking away. I have seen better bric-​à-​brac selection at pretty much any other thrift store in the area, sadly it looks as if they put anything on their shelves — like a garage sale, but with a store front. It’s really unfortunate that if tlc was given, it might help something. Tried a few times to like this place, but unless you’re a gay man, you won’t find clothes nor get the special attention from the manager. They’ll be opening a pharmacy soon — so hey if in the area, at least drop in for a refill to help the organization out, which again is lacking in the retail department.

Everyone is welcome here! Even us heteroes! There are lots of women’s & men’s clothes, jewelry, furniture, books & housewares. I’ve never seen children’s clothes or items.
Prices are extremely reasonable. You get a great deal and almost all profits go to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. So please don’t try to haggle — it is for charity you wonderful people!
Make sure you visit Genesis Benefit Thrift Store around the corner on Lemmon & Knight too. Another great store for another great charity!
Get out of the house and go to Out of the Closet! (Oh & Caitlyn Jenner baby, you know your beautiful face was always welcome here!)
